Normally it should work like you said: USB C for one monitor, HDMI for the other one.

Look at the lights above the ethernet ports. You can check whether they are connected or disconnected.

Yes b550 can support zen 3 with a bios update, zen 4 will be on a new socket though.
Budget for a board? and you could just wait for zen 3 now.

60fps no problem at 1440p with either CPU. I'd go AMD. More important to get a high refresh rate monitor than 1440p.

I get 100+ on my specs below.

might be annoying but if you pull the board out of the case does it fit?

your rear I/O on the gpu isn't lining up with the slot so perhaps something isn't assembled right on the case

Does the clip at the back clip in? If yes it's pretty much fully in.

If the retaining clip at the end is engaged and the expansion card plate is all the way in, then that's probably where it should be.

As a suggestion, take a flash light, preferably a bright LED one, and look in the slot to see if there's debris in it. If the card doesn't appear to be "rocking" in the slot, there's likely no debris. Not all expansion cards go 100% down, as there's usually some give in the MB itself, and as long as the MB isn't mis-aligned this should be correct.

If it's the same MB you had before, check if the back or front of the GPU isn't resting on top of a capacitor or a cable, another thing that people sometimes don't realize is that sometimes the OEM cheats and puts things in bad places, so there's sometimes like a 2mm clearance and a cable running along it is enough to make something in that slot not go in all the way..

At around $600 for a decent spec, the HP Wave seems to be the top "budget" pick if you're looking for a "trashcan" PC. But is it?...

This isnt really the best place to talk about hackintoshes.
there are a couple really good forums dedicated to it with a lot more information. they'll be able to help you out.

While the motherboard seems to have standard ATX connectors, I suspect the power supply is in some non standard size which isn't regular ATX or the more smaller SFX.

So if you really want to change the psu. most likely you'll also have to change the case (an extra 20-30$) and transplant all components in the new case.
the MB seems to be mATX format (microATX) so any micro ATX or ATX case would work.

Have you used the windows usb tool before trying to use the ssd?
Meaning that software is for another device then you select a usb drive... you boot to the usb on your new computer the select to install windows onto that ssd! you don't put the tool on the ssd

What brand of gpu do you have? because the case of the gpu might get in the way of other parts for example
Also, what case are you buying for your new system?

    It's OK!
If you was to change hardware ryzen is the best route in my opinion CPU wise. 1st generation ryzen is pretty cheap these days and I think ryzen 2nd generation will come down in price soon due to ryzen 3rd generation rumored to come out soon!
Your GPU is ok and should be fine for light gaming and editing.
Used ram you can save some money on but ram prices have came down a lot recently
Ryzen motherboards are much cheaper than Intel, can save even more if used or refurbished
I do suggest buying a good power supply if you are completely redoing your PC
If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

It's a good CPU when compared to others in that price range
But saying that I the CPU will struggle due to the 2 cores and 2 threads, expect long times converting and exporting projects.
The GPU should be fine, guessing the footage will be 1080p?
16gb of ram would be better but 8gb is good enough
Overall I think it'll be useable but you will have to be patient with loading etc

Yes you need a cpu upgrade! I recomend a ryzen 5 2600x at minimum, ryzen 7 2700x would suit.
Intel is best just gaming, ryzen is normally cheaper but not as good for gaming

A video of linus using Mac os in 2019, like a follow up episode/series to the ' iMac 5K Retina 27" Display Overview - iSwitched Part 1 '
It would be interesting to see how far Mac os has improved since 2014 when he filmed the original series.
    Some new features for example
Dark mode , desktop stacks , new quick actions , metal 2.0 ,advanced screenshots , new file system APFS , changed gallery view , optimization of storage ( helpful on smaller ssd's )
Would be interesting to see how far Mac os is progressing

    Use https://www.mrmemory.co.uk/
Download the system scanner, run the software and you'll see what memory upgrades are available. Some older laptops don't support more than 12gb ram
Mr Memory will display the maxium ram supported and other information.
