  1. I assumed this was the case. Shame it has always worked for me in the past for many years at many different houses. Had to happen eventually
  2. I have recently had a new son, Yay me! My old "office" used to containing my desktop has now become his room. I now have a compact wall mounted desk in my bedroom which i love. The only issue is that the powerline ethernet connection is now orders of magnitude weaker than before any suggestions? Essentially i have some older version of this: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9156900 One plugs into the back of my router and one plugs into the wall near my PC from there i can draw ethernet for my desktop. This always has been the set up but now after moving rooms it has gone from being 20Mbps to ~1Mbps. Since i cannot move the room my desktop is used in, are there any suggestions you can make? I can hardwire a LAN cable from the modem or use a wireless card in my PC, i just don't understand why the drop has occurred.
  3. But will I be able to get App Store on it? Will 4g work? Finding them isn’t the problem just wanted to make sure if it’s going to work over here
  4. So I am looking into buying a budget phone under £200 (I am in the UK). My main uses are email/whatsapp/facebook messenger and google maps and I do a fair bit of YT watching (like LTT & Tech linked :) ). Apart from that this is my primary photo device for photos of my kids and family so a decent camera is good. I wanted to buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro. However I cannot find one in the UK that has the 675 snapdragon only the 660 but I know they exist because I can find them on chinese sites. Is there that much difference? Are there any sites I can trust to get the 675 version from? even if it takes 30 days. If they come from China will they have the app store and all the other gubbins I need? Other phones i have considered: Hwawei P20 Lite Nokia 7.1 Galaxy M30
  5. On ebuyer the Vega 64 says reccomended 650W PSU. Will the bequiet suffice?
  6. so there are 2 empty ram slots for upgrade in future (next paycheck). then it would be 4x16GB. https://www.ebuyer.com/864709-kolink-core-series-600w-80-plus-certified-power-supply-kl-c600 This is PSU Thanks for feedback
  7. A friend asked for advice with a ryzen build. He asked me if the following will work: -MSI B450 GAMING PLUS Motherboard -AMD Ryzen 5 2600 AM4 (thehy were going to opt for some G variant but I reccomended agaisnt it as they are getting some dedicated graphics). -MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ti VENTUS XS 6GB OC Graphics Card ( I think they were going for something cheaper but I remember Linus at some point saying 50% of budget should be on GPU). -Corsair Force MP300 120GB M.2 SSD (they have 1TB HDD, I reccomeneded they keep that as steam drive and get a speedy m.2) -2x Crucial 4GB DDR4-3200 UDIMM (they were originally getting a single stick of 8Gb slower, but I believe the advice for ryzen is 2 sticks for dual channel and should be most Mhz as possible). -600W PSU + Some random case -Win 10 Hopefully the advice I gave is okay any issues/feedback/compatability issues? Did i forget anything? They are buying this week and I am helping them assemble next week.
  8. I got the i7 workstation for 230 GBP. It comes with 8gb DDR3. I have another 8gb (mine is slower clock speed but should still work). I also have my own SSD. Let's say I am willing to spend another 50 on GPU, what should I go for? I think it has to be pretty low power draw as CPU is 290 watts I believe and doest have a 6 pin plug. These things sometimes come with quadro k600 that are 41 watts if that helps
  9. ty now need to figure out how to upgrade PSU to get a graphics card in there!
  10. I am looking at buying an old Dell PC and then putting a newer graphics card in for some lights esports gaming for less than £250 The two towers I am considering buying have either an Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1225 or i7-4770. On paper there doesn't seem to be much between these two what would you guys recommend?
