    It died a few days ago. I replaced it with a Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Semi-modular PSU.

    Yeah. I ended up using the windows tests instead after fixing corruption. It was indeed bad RAM. I had some extra I tried out and no issues resulted and I had no windows issues or corruptions. I ordered some new RAM, so should be good after that.

    I am pretty sure it could, but to be safe for that high end of hardware, I would get a 750 watt one.

    No. While it is technically rated to be enough, I would strongly advise against it. It's a group regulated unit with no efficiency rating and doesn't meet ATX specifications.

    Pretty rough, functional but with a lot of drawbacks

    Hey guys,
    It's quite cold here and I wanted to plug in my space heater, with my computer on the same circuit and I'm not sure if that's okay. When I turn it on, my lights dim slightly.

    I have an 800watt pay, pcpartpicker says 414watts, which is likely untrue but that's what it says (i7 9700k, rtx 2080, etc) the space heater is a Dyson hot+cool and it says 1500watts. I have lights, a surge protector, a laptop, and a 10 watt lamp.

    80C under 1.4v wouldn't "damage" the cpu, but running it 24/7 load might degrade it over time. I wouldn't worry about it though. In theory if i had to run a 9700k/9900k on full load 24/7 i'd do it on 1.1v 4.5 for efficiency (electric bills).

    80C is bad if it normally runs this hot, but if it's maximum hit under sustained synthetic workload. I wouldn't worry about it because you will be running at those temps rarely if ever

    80 isn't that hot.

    Most mobile CPUs are teetering on the edge of thermal throttling and are way above that. And they are generally fine.

    Current does more to hurt CPUs than an 80c spike.

    NP only 3 things kill CPU's

    1 (too) high temperature in excess of 100 degrees Celsius
    2 (too) high voltages
    3 short circuit

    No. 80 degrees isn't that high anyway

    Stress test for aida64 is merely a good starting point. Do not trust it as an overall stress test.

    What I mean by that is: if it fails an hour of AIDA64 something is clearly unstable, but if it passes, that doesn't mean you're totally stable.

    For reference, I've had settings pass an hour of combined CPU FPU Memory stress testing on AIDA64 and fail elsewhere. I've also had a RAM OC pass an hour of Memtest only to fail AIDA64's in 10 minutes. So a good mix of tests, along with just plain gaming on it and seeing if it freezes is highly recommended when testing an overclock for stability. I personally still use Prime95 26.6 as well even though some people swear against it these days as you see "unrealistic Temps" in it.

    My personal gamut is Cinebench once, if it fails, back to BIOS. If it passes
    -> 2 hours of A64 stressing CPU/Memory/FPU/GPU
    -> 2 hours of Realbench
    -> run your normal shit

    if it passes all that stuff, it's probably fine.
