  1. Why should 8GB DIMM's be avoided? You can always pay $8 more for a 2x16GB kit of DDR5 6000 at just $80.
  2. It's less than 9% at 1440p. I don't know why on earth I'd game at 1080p with such a high tier GPU. If building with an option though, the i5 13500 is the no-brain choice. It's just $72 right now for DDR5 6000 RAM.
  3. You mentioned a 3060 to be realistic but what do you think about this picture involving a 3090 Ti... Since the 14 core 4.8 GHz i5 13500 is on par with the i5 12600K as you mentioned, isn't the performance difference here just 5% with a 3090 Ti? And this is at 1080p. I'm not sure why I'd be gaming at 1080p with a 3090 Ti but aside from added heat, what other benefit do you have for the extra cost of the 5800X3D here?
  4. Do you have a link to the source of that picture of the 12 game average you posted?
  5. Isn't the less heat 14 core 4.8 GHz i5 13500 just $238? And who games in 1080p with a 4090?
  6. Hotshot Racing is FREE right now on Fanatical. 77% Mostly Positive reviews on Steam... Link. Giveaway ends May 17th, 2023 but snag asap, Fanatical is known to run out of keys before you know it. Sumo Digital are the same devs that brought us OutRun 2006, OutRun Online Arcade 2009, F1 2009/2011, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Nike+ Kinect Training, Hitman 1 and 2, Snake Pass(also given as a Freebie on June 11, 2020), Crackdown 3, Team Sonic Racing 2019, Hogwarts Legacy and even the new Texas Chain Saw Massacre game releasing on August 18, 2023.
  7. In terms of time, this would be correct for certain types of people. The bright side is that I have plenty of time. That's correct. Good thing I rarely have to boot up my PC. Around 1-5% of my yearly life. Usually when the power goes out or when I update Windows around once every few months or so. The biggest deal for me I've already mentioned... "I think my biggest speed bump making the transfer is just how much I enjoy what I already have. It's like I can't give it up just for two things... A less 10 second boot time after shutdowns/restarts and a quicker/snappier OS." Meaning, I can't give up my current experience because it's actually flawless in terms of my own personal desires. I can't give that up just for a less than 10 second boot time after shutdowns/restarts that I've already explained to occur just 1-5% of the year. So the real want, not need, I have is the quicker/snappier OS. It's simply not worth giving up what I already have.
  8. I own multiple builds my friend. I own SSD's. Takes less than 10 seconds to boot up from sleep every night. If I put an SSD in my personal build, I'd make sure it lasts.
  9. Possible? Sure. Reality? Nope. Strange, been using mine as a boot drive since December of 2016 without issues. 32 GB's, and yes, rarely reboot. Turning on the PC from sleep takes less than 10 seconds. Seen that video 10 years ago. I still love my HDD's and I don't know what I'd do without them.
  10. Strange, been using mine as a boot drive since December of 2016 without issues.

  12. Two things I don't want to do. However, they don't sound overwhelming. But when I really think about it, I just wish my current Windows experience had some type of flaw in it. Some type of issue. There's literally none. There's the old saying, if it isn't broke, don't try to fix it. Nothing about my Windows is broke. Everything does exactly what I wish for it to do. There's so much. This is the overwhelming part. I'd have to uninstall all my launchers and then reinstall them. My video editing software in particular I for the most part, do NOT want to uninstall and reinstall. Because of the things I've read about newer versions that I have chosen to not update to. My current version, runs, like I said, without flaws. Without issues. I think my biggest speed bump making the transfer is just how much I enjoy what I already have. It's like I can't give it up just for two things... A less 10 second boot time after shutdowns/restarts and a quicker/snappier OS.
  13. That's a good question. Never really thought of that actually, wouldn't there be some additional things I'd have to do with that process? Seems they'd have less confliction with how things function, which is good. Just need to know what they are. I mean, there's always something. For one, how would the transfer of my current Windows key work while installing Windows to the SSD while it still being on the HDD?
  14. Oh no doubt, these random read/write speeds also affect pretty much everything to do with loading times, especially games and Windows/application/program snappiness. But you gotta realize the random read/write on this Vulcan Z SSD is not much at just 32,594/23,252 IOPS. Yes it's better than an HDD but just as with the 200 TBW, I'm gonna need a much higher random read/write. Oh this I know, I have multiple builds. There is just one major reason I have yet to transfer my OS from my HDD to an SSD, and that's what actually occurs after the transfer. Can you just imagine the amount of troubleshooting it'll present for random error messages that pop up on my screen as the result of the transfer. Cloning a drive is nightmare afterwards if the drive has six and half years of perfect compatibility where everything is in place. When you clone the drive, you get error message after error message. Forcing you to do this and do that in order for this and that to function flawlessly again.
  15. That's me. Pass, my HDD has lasted me six and a half years now. If I'm replacing it, I need its replacement to last more than a few years. I dunno, 520/450 read/write is not much higher than my current 184/167 read/write. That's 2.8x and 2.7x faster. What is higher is obvious though, how long it takes to turn on the PC. Right now it's 1:18 to get to my sign in screen then another 2:22 for it to completely boot up and be usable. And that's after making sure there's just two startup processes, my audio and my antivirus. I do have a way around this 3:40 total boot time that brings it down to less than 10 seconds but this work around does not work if I have to shutdown the PC. Basically putting the PC to sleep each night allows it to boot up in less than 10 seconds the next day. But say the power goes out, which happens maybe 3-5 times a year or so, then I gotta wait that 3:40 every time but it only matters when I was in the middle of a competitive game such as League, where I can reconnect to the match if I boot up the PC in time to where my team didn't lose/quit the game. And then there's of course Windows updates that force me to restart/shutdown the PC but I just do these overnight and the next morning I'm not bothered by turning on the PC and waiting 3:40 for it to boot up because that's plenty of time to use the bathroom, toast a pop tart and make a cup of coffee. If you ever find a good deal on this type of SATA SSD, I'm all for it when the endurance is much higher than 200 TBW. It not having DRAM cache doesn't even bother me since I'm currently used to my HDD.
  16. Well it appears that we've been scammed... Here is the original news, scroll to, "To show our gratitude, we're offering an incredible surprise to those who have played and loved Desktop Dungeons. Do you want to know what it is? Are you ready for a spoiler? Then continue! We’re going to be giving away Desktop Dungeons: Rewind for FREE to everyone who owns the original Desktop Dungeons when the new game releases. Yes, you read that correctly! FREE! And to make that even easier, we've discounted Desktop Dungeons for the week leading up to the launch of Desktop Dungeons: Rewind on the 18th! So thousands of people got in direct contact with the devs, including myself. And here is the runaround they gave me... "Just to let you know, if you picked up the free version of Desktop Dungeons that was available earlier today, you won't be receiving a free copy of Desktop Dungeons: Rewind. This was an issue on Valve's side that has been resolved by removing the free gift for players that redeemed Desktop Dungeons during this time." Also, just a few minutes ago they even went and made a completely new article in the Steam news feed to make up for their false advertisement that states... "Desktop Dungeons: Rewind is out now! If you bought this version previously it should already be in your library and ready to play. You got it for free! (No, if you got this game for free, you will not get Rewind for free)." How would you guys describe what they've done here? BTW, just want to let y'all know, Graveyard Keeper is 80% off right now on Steam. It hasn't been at this low of a discount since 2021.
  17. Having the same issue. I'm in direct contact with the devs right now to see what's going on.
  18. Sold out! DAMN IT, I'm a HUGE fan of the M470. It uses the same controller as the Sabrent Rocket 4.0 and Patriot Viper VP4100. That price was insane! Seems its price history shows it's hit this price twice in the past few days so hopefully they restock.
  19. Desktop Dungeons Enhanced Edition is FREE right now on Steam. 89% Very Positive reviews. Free to keep when you get it before Apr 25 @ 12:00pm. Also, and you're gonna wanna read this, the developers plan to give away the remastered version of the game, Desktop Dungeons Rewind, to everyone who owns the original. Meaning, grab this current Desktop Dungeons freebie ASAP and you'll receive the remastered of the game once it releases. It's supposed to release later today!
  20. Peaky Blinders Mastermind is FREE right now on Fanatical. 77% Mostly Positive reviews on Steam... Link. Not only is this game no longer available to buy on the Steam store, Fanatical almost always runs out of these keys VERY QUICKLY because so many people use multiple accounts to grab multiple keys to sell off for profit. So GRAB ASAP. And for those that do not know, the game was delisted from Steam due to the expired licensing of the Peaky Blinders TV series from the current IP owners Banijay to Curve Digital.
  21. Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is FREE right now on Steam. 85% Very Positive reviews. Free to keep when you get it before Apr 9 @ 1:00pm.
  22. Deep Sky Derelicts is FREE right now on GOG. 74% Mostly Positive reviews on Steam... Link. You have until Monday, April 3, 2023 at 9:00am EST to claim this freebie. Deep Sky Derelicts is an original combination of turn-based strategy and RPG, enriched with tactical card combat and popular roguelike elements. Explore derelict alien ships, fight, loot and upgrade your gear, all in distinctive retro-futuristic comic book aesthetic style. It's been compared to Darkest Dungeon mixed with a deck builder, which creates a really interesting situation where you might turn down a better weapon just because it doesn't give the cards you want.
  23. I prefer an HDD as my secondary drive. My motherboard does not allow an M.2 SSD and I have yet to make the swap from HDD actually. I have a 1 TB HDD as my OS drive and three other HDD's that store games and other media. A HDD lasts much longer than a 100 TBW bottom of the barrel SATA SSD and as I mentioned, those particular QLC drives write speed will come to a crawl equivalent to that of a hard drive. So I recommend a 2 TB hard drive at this $40-$50 but that's just me. When it comes to an SSD for $50, my money is on the SP A80. If I only had an M.2 slot.
  24. It's $48 from a third party Amazon seller with 21% 1 star negative reviews in the past month. It also has an extremely low 100 TBW endurance rating, among other bottom of the barrel specs. Including QLC NAND. The write speed will come to a crawl equivalent to that of a hard drive. The Silicon Power P34A80 is just $49 and has a night and day difference in specs.
  25. Alwas Awakening is FREE right now on GOG. 80% Very Positive reviews on Steam... Link. This freebie is only available until Thursday March 30, 2023 so snag it asap. I've actually been awaiting this overlooked game to go free one day so I'm gonna give it a go for sure. It's a challenging NES inspired adventure game with the authentic feel and look of a Nintendo 8-bit game. Inspired by classics such as Battle of Olympus(Zelda II The Adventure of Link clone) and Solstice. It also has over 25 original tracks on its OST.
