Instead of negative responces like I always see on this site and this post I'll answer your question without my opinion which none of theirs is required here thanks fellas for your not needed opinions.

Yes both will work. It will not work like sli or Crossfire will what will happen is, when you get your new card uninstall the rx drivers using your monitor on the igpu slot. Install the card and drivers of the new card. Once it's working you can plug the rx back into the x8 or x4 slot but do not install the amd drivers. It will become the default gpu instead let windows auto detect it and install generic drivers. Now your ti will be driving your best monitor and the rx will turn into a display adapter meaning you can run monitors off it but when playing games obviously plug the monitor into the ti.

Sorry you had to deal with people like this ppl can't ever just answer a question on here but have to say attackful stuff rather answer the question and so many don't even give correct answers on here.

If you have a 4790k you would be down grading going to a ryzen sku that has a built in igpu.

Try to switch video cards - RX 480 in your PC, GTX 1080 in your wife's PC. If there is still no video output on wife's PC, then your motherboard has faulty PCI Express slot

SLI isn't dead and it will not be dead with the new GPUs.

If it's dead then I must've have been playing my Witcher 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider in 4213x1768 on max details with 100fps in some kind of alternative reality.

Rx 570 is on par with the 1060 3GB.

I suggest you save up for an RX 580 8GB as 4GB of Vram is on the edge of its lifespan. And 3GB on the 1060 3GB is too little in todays games

Pretty sure the "void if removed" stickers are now meaningless in the US, if OP is located there, thanks to a recent law being passed.

It is possible to remove stickers safely without destroying them. There are videos of it on youtube

The 470/570 4gb and 1060 3gb are foolish to buy now they've been out for two years and are at the low end of video cards. Why buy two year old low end stuff when OP is considering a midrange card? (1060 6gb) my 470 4gb is maxed out playing new titles what do you think it'll be like playing battlefield 5 with high graphics or stuff coming out in fall?

O9B0666 reacted to Tabs in Intel i7 7700HQ Stress Test with Aida64 (Questions)
It's possible, but not as likely as the explanation that pushing both CPU and GPU load at once is pushing the limits of your thermal mass (heatsink/fan assembly), and it gets that hot during games because games are stressing both of the hottest components in your machine at the same time.

If a game only has one or two threads, you may see your cpu go above 3.4ghz if temperature and power limits allow. By undervolting, you have allowed the chip to reach higher speeds using less power, which is a net gain in performance in all situations - so long as the undervolt is stable.

The short answer is: you don't have to worry that your CPU and GPU get hot under full load. It is not throttling unless the speed drops below 2.8GHz; 3.4GHz isn't the base clock for your chip, so it's running cool enough to fully max out it's all-core boost profile.

If your temperatures under full load (CPU and GPU) start to push to 100C, your CPU speed will drop incrementally until an equilibrium is reached.

Just to clarify again: Your CPU is not throttling; it's working exactly as designed. It's just not always easy to explain it when intel markets it as "up to 3.8GHz", which is technically not wrong, but needs the explanation that it's only valid on one core, when power and thermals allow.
