  1. Hi, I have a 500W Cooler Master PSU which only has a 6 pin PCI-E connector and a Red Devil RX 480 which uses a 6+2 pin connector for power. I recently bought a cheap 6 pin to 8 pin PCI-E adapter off of eBay (It was the first one in the results with fast and free shipping so I didn't bother looking at the description) and within the first 10 minutes of me playing the game the positive wires started to smoke and melted, I'm pretty sure this happened because of the gauge of the wires. anyways I was wondering what type of adapter should I buy and from where which would be sufficient for the graphics card to run and is it even safe to use an adapter, I'm not planning to overclock the graphics card or use it for video editing or any other intensive workload. I've heard that some graphics card come with an adapter so I'm thinking its probably fine. Thanks in advance :)
  2. Hi, I have a Asus P7P55-M motherboard and I'm running a i5 750 processor in it. Im very new to overclocking and dont know much about it. I have overclocked my CPU to 3.67GHZ from 2.68GHZ but I cant figure out the voltage settings. There is no option in the bios for CPU Vcore voltage, instead it says vcore overvolt and i can increase it from 0.01 to 0.68. i tried setting a base clock of 170 with a multiplier of 21 and when i checked the voltage in cpu z it was maxing out at around 2.875v. currently im testing by running at 3.675GHZ and the voltage is maxing out at 1.312v. I'm a bit worried because this doesn't look right to me. btw I have tested running cinebench multiple times and the computer is stable and the tempratures doensn't go above 61 degrees. I have attached some screenshots of cpuz and open hardware monitor below. Thanks in advance ?
