Hi, I have a 500W Cooler Master PSU which only has a 6 pin PCI-E connector and a Red Devil RX 480 which uses a 6+2 pin connector for power. I recently bought a cheap 6 pin to 8 pin PCI-E adapter off of eBay (It was the first one in the results with fast and free shipping so I didn't bother looking at the description) and within the first 10 minutes of me playing the game the positive wires started to smoke and melted, I'm pretty sure this happened because of the gauge of the wires. anyways I was wondering what type of adapter should I buy and from where which would be sufficient for the graphics card to run and is it even safe to use an adapter, I'm not planning to overclock the graphics card or use it for video editing or any other intensive workload. I've heard that some graphics card come with an adapter so I'm thinking its probably fine.
Thanks in advance :)
