    I'd rather a good 2.0 than a trash 5.1. because that's what you're getting with OP's budget.

Good build, one note tho… I understand the Z390 platform isn't viable past the 9900K (dead implies it's worthless),is it really realistic to keep hyping the AM4 platform as some serious option to upgrade from the 3900X?

99% of users won't upgrade in 6 months to the last AM4 chip from the 3 series.

9900K isn't as dead and gone as AM4 lovers want to say.  It still beats ass and competes with the 3900X easily.  Also, if you do upgrade from the 3900X to the 4900X (for example), the cash outlay will be quite severe.  Realistic?

3900X or 9900K, both are fantastic flagships.

No detriment, you just have much more bandwidth available than you'll use.  As GPU's have done for years, no big deal.

You're putting this in a rose colored glasses light, which is very 2020 and PC of you.

We all know why the OP put the price the very first thing in the title.  Please stop trying to twist is that @Statik is missing some vague point about location/region.  We all get that too.

If he had put the price as a total of all parts somewhere in the body, you'd have more of a leg to stand on.

As it is, price was the single most important thing the OP wanted to relay to us.  And very good for him, many can't afford that and he has a beautiful system to show for it.

Since you're not disagreeing with Statik, why must he be open minded more?  He's dead on, if you're agreeing.

When it's the very first word in the title, it says what it's intended to say.

It's an expensive, fantastic looking rig.  Can it be done cheaper?  Very much so.  Does the OP want us to know how much he spent on it, very much so.

Is it gorgeous?  Very much so.

Each of us can take from it what we want.  I think it's nice.

I bet, I keep meaning to do some in my kitchen undercabinet but I'm too lazy

Also, you may want to move to white cabling in the future to minimize them, I've seen a few rooms done with white and it really looks good if you can find them.

Then again, that's an end goal when it's all done.  What's your next step?

Any AIO that fits the chipset works great I would imagine, get a 240mm or better.

stop whining. you're going to have to learn to load things with explicit or suggestive title screens in the background so that your brother doesn't snitch on you, because now he knows it gets you "hit with a pan (or whatever actually happened) and he can get you in trouble for it.

besides, it's common sense not to play gtaV around a 5 year old, or hell, anyone under the age of 16 as far as I care. be aware of your surroundings when you play and perhaps speak to your mother and ask her to enforce that if you, say, have your door closed while playing games, he isn't allowed to enter as while the games may be acceptable for your age group they're wholly inappropriate for his

don't play the game at all only play when no one else is around close your door and deal with the consequences. risk your brother walking in at a bad time and deal with the consequences

Those front fans should deliver an adequate amount of air to the gpu you shouldn't need to flip the fan on the AIO. All in all your case flow in its current config seems pretty balanced if not slightly positive pressure due to rad resistance.

It really doesn't matter as long as you aren't buying the cheapest ones that are likely fake.

Microcenter has store brand SD cards that are pretty cheap.

Well for those who want specs I have the asus prime x470-pto motherboard, Ryzen 2600 cpu, 16gb of ram, an intel m.2 1tb, and now an evga 980ti graphics card,... I love playing ark on it with my friends along with other games as well but right now ark is my favorite! I did have to get more fans to help keep things cool, and now it’s running perfectly!

3900X is a whole lot of CPU, usually for those who work on their machines like developers or video editors.

For gaming and programming I'd go with the 3600.  It has the core speeds you need, the 3700X does as well but with more cores/threads that you won't be utilizing much if at all.

The Ryzen 3600 is the bang for buck gaming CPU out there.

Others may give more input but I'd spend your budget on other things than a 3700X or 3800X.

jstudrawa got a reaction from amdorintel in ryzen 5 2600x vs 3600
The 3600 is on par with Intel offerings for the most part, while the 2600X is not. For gaming, I mean.

3600 is a better choice, especially at those resolutions and that GPU.  I would pay the difference for what you gain.  I did on the Intel side a few years ago, so the price isn't an issue.  If you can afford it, do it.

Should support an i7, there where ones sold with i7's, and it's highly unlikely dell had different boards or BIOSes for different CPUs, that means they need different boards for each level of hardware. In my experience they usually work but it's a best bet to find the same model of i7 they where offered, eg a 4790K might not be compatible as it wasn't offered as a choice

edit: I checked, Q87 express chipset and then highest CPU offered was an i7 4790, so it should support just about all i7's for Haswell.
