  1. Then I don't know the miniscule benefit of one or the other. Since they're both Gen 4 x4, you'd have to factor in DRAM, controller, etc. I get what you're saying, just don't have that minute info. Hope someone else can compare them better. Not sure any minor performance can overcome 500GB extra room, unless you simply don't need the space either. Or are installing both in the machine anyway?
  2. They're both 4x4, so theoretically they should be damn similar. Real World booting? Couldn't tell if your life depended on it. If they're the same price, get the 1TB for capacity.
  3. Wasteland, Fallout, Mines of Titan (Mars Saga), Super Tecmo Bowl, Everquest.
  4. No, there isn't any benefit (yet) for Gen 5. SSD's don't provide real world speed boosts, and there is not Gen 5 GPU, let alone one NEEDING Gen 5. It'll handle years worth of AM5 chips, like B350 does for AM4. It's a solid board, but there are others like the Lightning and a few others at the budget end that are good picks too. B650 is very strong for this generation.
  5. And you go by Pharttmaster here too
  6. Yes, the 5600 is CL28, 6000 is CL30, 6400 is CL32, etc. CL should be 1/2 the speed for DDR5. in general. Disregarding the Zero's. @filpo loves his 5600CL28's.
  7. Can you include the stores you are buying from, pcpartpicker does this automatically so it looks like you're just entering in prices you found somewhere else? Or are they used? What is your use case?
  8. Well for 1440p, it's a good pick. Definitely viable for moving up to 1440 UW
  9. The Gen 5 aspects are a complete waste of money, but if you want them just to have them... rock it. What case are you using?
  10. Just get a Fractal North and be happy Or do what Boomer said as well.
  11. You';re a little uneven for intake vs exhaust, I would add another exhaust fan at the top back. So you have air coming from from the entire front and leaving top and back. Not a big deal either way, just what I would do.
  12. Devil's Advocate is a solid play here, but a 4070 Super for 1080p, especially going from the iGPU in a 5600g.... a bit much. So no, I am staying strong and saying a 4070 Super is overkill for 1080p. There are a myriad of sub-$800 GPU's more suited. I understand your point and it's a vague one. You're just hedging on a "what might happen in the future", may as well get a 4090 then.
  13. All you need to do it look it up... msi.com/Motherboard/B350M-MORTAR/support#cpu To update the BIOS... msi.com/Motherboard/B350M-MORTAR/support#bios
  14. Now you're going to make me get another 2x16 kit and test that But all my Intel and AM4 systems run 4 sticks at full speeds. What do we do in 4 years for AM5 when we only have 32 GB?
  15. Correct, wont mess anything up. It's how we all do it. I would get 1-5, 8, 9. You've got the AMD Graphics drive already. Do not under any circumstances get Norton 360. I will put you on ignore if you do. Get MalwareBytes free version coupled with Windows Defender.
  16. Yes, you need to download those motherboard utilities and drivers. Get them from the source, not Windows.
  17. Well, it's a solid way of thinking. Most people buy what they need at the time, so they wiould have gotten a 2x8 kit and then added 2x8 later. 4 slot mobo's are the norm. I find it odd you're so focused on filling the RAM slots, knowing there is NO benefit for performance and NO need for more RAM. Second guessing your board because it has 4 slots and not 2 is not something people usually do. It wasn't a mistake at all, unless you're seriously having an issue with empty slots and simply cannot abide them. It's a very limiting process to get 2 slots boards, and needing to upgrade RAM. Hence why we almost always recommend 4 slot boards with 2x kits, allowing ease of adding more capacity later. It isn't as common to upgrade RAM for speed reasons. I think you may want to research RAM a bit more to get a handle on just how it all works.
  18. Okay, so it's just an OCD thing. Then get another 2x16 set of 3200 and rock out. Anything else is too much work.
  19. Then why are you adding RAM to get to 48 or 64? If anything, by your logic, you would REPLACE the 2x16 3200 with 2x16 3600, no?
  20. Okay, I am confused. You're fine with 32, but WANT 64? If so, do whatever. LIke I said, no combination will result in noticeable increases in speed or performance from a speed standpoint. Only if you need more than 32, will you notice anything.
  21. Neither RAM setup will make a noticeable speed difference in your machine. That said, go with whichever you need for capacity. Do you actually need 64GB RAM?
  22. Right, had that figured. Just need to know what my hardware has without having to wait til 6pm tonight to see it physically. I'm impatient, and I want to order it NOW! For tomorrow delivery Thanks for all your help, everyone!
