  1. I wouldn't put the TA 120 on a 7700X. That CPU will ramp up to 85c right quick, so you want something to cool it enough to get more out of it. Either get more cooling or drop to a 7600(x). 7700X is in an odd place atm.
  2. Are you writing the paper or asking us for content for it? A few threads are already on this on the forums, if you need content.
  3. No, you can leave your Library SSD alone. Just install Windows on the Gen 4, then Steam. Go into Settings, and find the Library aspect to point it to the old folder. In the Steam client options under "Download" is a point " Steam Library Folders". Just add the library from D and then restart Steam. Now all the games should be recognized.
  4. 7000 series has been out for a long time now, when did you buy the 5600x? It's never a good idea to buy PC components over time. Get the 7600, not the 7600x, sell the 5600x.
  5. Realistically, some games will be able to achieve frame rates far beyond what monitors can show, even that 500hz one. I simply crank settings up until my fps drops to my monitor refresh. A 165hz monitor is more than enough imo. Anything more is gravy and a bonus . I for one LOVE ultra wide gaming. It's such a great feel to have that extra side areas for UI stuffs as well as fitting my eyes viewing area. A UW will compliment your 7800 while not leaving it wanting more.
  6. If I had to choose, I would get the Acer due to price alone. With your build and your initial monitor budget, I would get a 1440p UW... But that's my way of thinking. A solid PC deserves a lot of nice viewing real estate. Amazon.com: AOC CU34G3S 34" Frameless Curved Ultrawide Gaming Monitor, WQHD 3440 x1440, 165Hz 1ms, FreeSync Premium, Height Adjustable, 3-Year Zero-Bright-dot, Black : Electronics
  7. If you don't need GSync, this seems a better deal... can't paste the Amazon link for some reason so that is concerning...
  8. When you get home, see what just 2x16 does. You should be able to hit EXPO with just 2 slots filled for starters.
  9. Work with this guy, he coincidentally has the same issue basically... hopefully you both can get it solved. For you, can you get 1 kit running with EXPO? 4 DIMMS are going to be hard.
  10. As above. Screw them in better or get better fans, shouldn't have any vibrations. Otherwise get some vibration dampening materials on the interior.. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=sound+dampening
  11. What RAM is it, exactly? EXPO or XMP, it should have a profile. Or you can manually set. Pic of Windows showing 3800? Though this article seems to claim DDR5 starts at 3200MHz... https://www.tomshardware.com/news/ddr5-specifications-8400-mhz-cpu-cores
  12. It's an either or, not a yes or no. If same price, go 2x. Easier on memory controllers. Go 4x if your OCD runs your life.
  13. Please stop calling people who want to buy new stupid. Yes, I know how you phrase it. If you choose not to buy new, that's fine. But many of us prefer not paying for things others have done what they wish, and may not have treated it like we would. Buying used is a valid option but in no way stupid not to. I do both but we each have our comfort levels.
  14. I use the ASROck Pro 4 and it's solid and needed no BIOS update to run the 5600 I have. Grab that.
  15. Most likely nothing. Unless that board was manufactured 3 years ago, it will have a BIOS that can run the 5600 just fine. If it's an old shelf sittter, you would need to update the BIOS with a previous gen chip like a 1600 or 3600, etc. Can you find a B550 that is nice and cheap, would be a more guaranteed BIOS.

  17. The case comes with 2x 120mm fans, which I assume are exhaust. he's just asking if it's okay to have the only intake fans be the rad fans. Not that they're the ONLY fans.
  18. You're good. Solid machine. Not sure you'll notice any performance gain with going with the AIO, but don;t worry about it. It'll run well.
  19. Oh, 650w is MORE than adequate. That system would run fine on a 450w, you're not pulling much at all.
  20. Oh and don't worry about needing a license or buying one. You can run Windows unactivated without issue. I do on multiple machines.
  21. Always install Windows fully, never restore. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 These vids can walk you thru... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+install+windows+10+from+usb
  22. 100% viable. Most people use a rad for exhaust or intake without other fans supporting that aspect.
  23. Yes,, reinstall Windows and you can select the SSD from the install menu... When you see this, it will list your drives and partitions. Pick the 500GB SSD. Then make sure to go into BIOS and select the SSD as the new boot drive, since both have Windows on them.
  24. You also know people will argue for EONS about a 0.1 second 0-60 time making one car AMAZING and the other a TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT It is interesting though, and a lot of good "other" info comes out of these discussions.
  25. Get Macrium Reflect. Clone the HDD to the SSD, provided the entire size of the data will fit on the SSD. Is the HDD a 1TB HDD, or are all your files adding up to 1TB? If the SSD is a name brand like Samsung or Crucial, they have their own software for free as well. Note: You can't just easily move the OS alone, so I am advising to move ALL stuff off the HDD and lose the HDD.
