  2. I think it may be the motherboard, the PC needs to be fully shut down and re-started, a restart does not make the ssd reappear
  3. No, everything looks fine until it does not
  4. I am encountering a weird issue with a work PC. whenever I hit a specific ssd somewhat hard that ssd just dissapears after some time of work. I initially rma'd the ssd thinking it was DOA but it's still happening with this unit. After changing the sata port it started working properly, but now a year later it started happening again. It only seems to happen in write intensive operations (it usually happens when I create a docker image). The drive in question does not have that many writes, since it's only used to store docker images that get updated every year or so. Any ideas what it might be? The ssd in question is an MX500, the pc's m/b is an Asus z170-a.
  5. Hi, as an EU member I asked the European commission when the malicious compliance first came on, I received this answer a few days ago: Seems like they will not allow apple get away with it.
  6. I ended up going for a used 6800Xt for 400 euro, 6900XT and 6950XT where way to expensive, over 550 euro. I think it made more sense to go for the 6800XT at that price.
  7. Joust found a 6900XT for 500 euro with still 6 months of warranty, I think it's a sound option. As for the PSU, it's should still have 2-3 years of warranty What do you mean by that? Does EVA replace PSU's because they are old?
  8. I am running a 5800X, so it's ok in terms of CPU. I can get a used 6950XT for 595 and a new one for 645, Both are XFX Merc 319, the 6800XT is a Red Dragon. Checking for 6900XT I found one for 535, but I cannot test any of the used ones, since they are far away. The Spanish secondhand market it's not good at all. And to go for a 6900-6950XT I would probably need to upgrade my PSU, it's an old 850W (EVGA Supernova G2)
  9. I am thinking of upgrading my 5700XT to a 6800XT I can find that for about 530 euro (including taxes), is it worth it for that price? I game in 1440P preferably above 60fps, I have a 144hz monitor. From what I've gathered the 6800XT is about 70% faster.
  10. thanks for the answers, I will probably go with the 5600g + Asrock B450M-Pro4 a decent-ish H610 costs about 104 euros and the B450M is in the 80 euro mark, plus the B450 supports more ram sticks (for any future upgrades)
  11. Hi, at price parity (160€) which one would you choose? It's for a budget build that will be used for some office work, web browsing, nothing too demanding. whichever is cheaper as a whole?
  12. It makes sense, maybe there is another problem that has not manifested itself yet.
  13. Hi, a while ago my 5700Xt stopped reporting the fan speed, the fans still work and the pwm also works, only the reporting is gone, the card is still in warranty, would you RMA? I changed the fans for some ML120's and that's why the reporting does not work anymore.... So probably a ceramic cap or something along those line blew but it gave no smell whatsoever.
  14. So turns out it was the cpu, with the 5800X prime95 large FFT did not pass (it failed in 2-3 minutes), after a lot of extra testing I decided to put the 2700 in, and prime95 does not fail. In the 5800X always cores 2 and 4 failed and sometimes 3 even at fully stock.
