  1. Couldn't find many options in 24inchers as per my requirements. In 27 QHD range, I have shortlisted the below 3 pieces: 1. LG 27GL850 2. Asus TUF GAMING VG27AQL1A 3. Gigabyte M27Q As per Hardware unboxed and RTINGS and other reviews, the LG 27GL850 is the best, but this is a bit costlier. And I can take my budget for Gigabyte or the Asus one - confused between the two.
  2. Thanks once more Alvin for coming back. Yes I agree to this, while asking here in the forum, I am continuously doing my own research, and I agree that my budget is tight for the features I am looking for, and If I compromise the screen size (which I will be happy to do) then I don't find the desired features in 24inch category The GB G24F seems tempting, added in my wishlist, but not available here, will try to find if I narrowed to this one. Then the MSI Optix MAG241C is a curved VA panel I found with most features and with decent reviews. The LG ones are TN panels that I found here. I found the Acer VG1 series here and as Omar mentioned above this one, I have added the VG271U (27inch QHD) in my list. I will see the XF and XV series if I find those well.
  3. Thanks Omar for your help, the 27 inch you mentioned is a FHD, we have VG271U (27inch QHD) in India at approx 24.5K INR ($330) is a decent one, I have added it in my Amazon wish-list, waiting for more options further.
  4. Thanks Alvin for the reply and the insights, 1. The GB M27Q is really an awesome monitor IMO but in India it sells for 36.5K INR (approx $490) which is way over my budget. 2. The LG we get 27GL850 instead of 27GP850, the 27GL850 costs the same as above and over my budget, I get the 27GL650F but that is 27inch with FHD, I dont want a 27incher at FHD though, they have one 24 inch with all the features but that is TN panel 24GL650F 3. The GB G27QC is the curved version of the G27Q, I get the G27Q at again the same price, around 35K INR ($480 ) I don't know if all these monitor you get at less than $400 in US, and its around $90 - $100 more here in India. But I can't stretch my budget to that amount atm. I really appreciate your recommendations and thanks for your time. The problem with the 27inch QHD monitors, when I see one that has everything I want but costs more than my budget then I try to look for its 24inch sibling, but there is none
  5. Hello Mates, I am looking for some recommendations from you for my next monitor. I am setting up some requirements so it will be easier for you to recommend. Usage: 1. Gaming mostly AAA RPG, FPS, RTS, Sports (FIFA), Racing and very less MOBA 2. Play from my PS4 Pro 3. Watching movies, web series 4. I sit close to the screen, and because of distance and space issues, I need a 24inch or 27inch monitor Present/Future capabilities: 1. I have a GTX 1060 6GB, I know its not enough for 2K gaming for the latest AAA games, but its acceptable with moderate settings based on some youtube reviews. 2. Also my target GPU GTX 3060 ti is now beyond acceptable price range, but some point of time it might be possible to buy one. Then 2K gaming would be easier 3. May be a PS5 upgrade sooner if the GPU market stays like this. Feature Requirements: 1. Either 24inch 1080p or 27inch 1440p (but not 27inch FHD) (16:9 not 21:9) Irrespective of screen size the below features are required: 2. VA or IPS (or OLED if possible in budget), not TN panel ( I dont like the strong Back Light Bleed or the IPS Glow, it should be well contained) 3. 1ms response (low GtG and MPRT values) 4. HDR required and 10bit color 5. High rated sRGB and DCI-P3 at 90% or higher for better HDR experience 6. 2 HDMI (2.0) ports and at least 1 DP ver 1.2 7. Variable Refresh Rate upto 144Hz (min 120Hz) 8. G-sync might not be possible at the price point, but Adaptive-sync or Freesync is acceptable as those are now compatible with GTX 10-series and above. 9. VESA wall mount Not Important but nice to have: 10. USB ports, 11. Curved screen 12. Might never use but won't complain if there are speakers. Budget: 1. For the 24inch FHD it is $300 or approx 20000 Indian Rupees 2. For the 27inch QHD it is max $400 or approx 28000 Indian Rupees Thanks in advance
  6. Hello Mates, I have recently upgraded my speakers to Logitech Z906, and I mostly play Games and Watch movies, no music on PC (so lets not talk about how bad Z906 is with Music - I know that already). My question is if anyone has any experience with this Z906 with 5.1 channel through the 3.5 mm cables provided and getting an optical cable would make any difference when the device decode the sound all by itself. It is interesting for you to know that the onboard audio is ALC1220 (Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming 2.0). Should I keep the 3.5mm analog configuration or I should try for the digital input for the speaker? Will there be any major difference in Game/Movie sounds?
  7. I would mostly agree with @Streetguru, As your PC hardware is still capable I would suggest some options for you. Option A 1. Remove the complete watercooling, get a good AIR cooler and overclock gently the 4yr old CPU. 2. Get the stock GPU fans back on the GPUs and you are all set Option B 1. Remove the complete watercooling, get a something like Corsair H series or NZXT Kraken AIO for the CPU. 2. Get the stock GPU fans back on the GPUs and you are all set Option C (I would have done this) 1. Remove the complete watercooling, get a something like Corsair H series or NZXT Kraken AIO for the CPU. 2. Sell the existing cards and get a single GTX 1070 TI or GTX 1080 (choosing the GPU upto you) and all set. Option C is my preferred because I would not ask to change the CPU-Mobo-RAM as it wouldn't give you any huge framerate boost in your games. With the new GPU and the existing CPU setup there would be very negligible or I would say that a synthetic difference. THere will be no real-life difference in geting a new PC. And modern games do not scale much with the SLI system, for an example you would not gain much with 2x 1070 vs single 1080 TI
  8. Thanks to both of you. @jonnyGURU its not that I don't need the UPS, but its like a thing good to have. Where I live a voltage Stabilizer costs nearly same or more than the APC 600VA UPS, so why not get the item which gives me another benefit of those rare power cuts.
  9. According to Outervision website, my system requirement is somewhere like 330-340 watt. I want to buy the APC 600VA ups which is like 360watt, I did a lot of research and I know this is just making it there, I should get the 1100VA model. But I am not bothered about the backup it can provide, there is barely a power cut where I live, but some voltage fluctuation is seen often. So my aim is to have a stable power source for my PC. How is the AVR function in the APC 600VA back-UPS (BX600C-IN) for my purpose? Shall I buy it or get the 1100VA model (it is actually more than double the price of the 600VA)
  10. Those blings on those chosen H370 boards are not the main reason (but one of the reasons I wouldnt deny) attracts me, the main reason is that the more HSIO lanes in H370 are more than B360 and the H370 boards have the better ALC1220 audio engine, this is important to me. You might have noticed that all that boards I mentioned have that ALC1220 audio engine. HSIO lanes are important for me, may be not all those I would use, but I have too many USB and SATA engagements, in future I will buy one NVMe M.2 as well. More to say B360 and H370 have a price difference of less than 1000INR = $14-15 so it doesnt make sense for me to buy B360 to save only that amount and sacrifice features This is what I am looking for, how much FPS difference? Any at all? Can I run that 3000Mhz C16 RAM to 2666Mhz C14 (C13 if possible) or it would run in 2666Mhz C16? One more thing that the 3000Mhz RAMs run with 1.35V whereas the 2666Mhz runs with 1.2V, when I put the 3000Mhz RAM into a H370 board then will the downclocked RAM gets 1.2V or 1.35V? Can a H370 board handle the 3000Mhz RAMs properly? I am adding this to my OP
  11. Hello Everyone, I am upgrading from my 3rd Gen i5 to the 8th Gen i5. I had waited a long time for the H370 to become available, however when it is here, I am in a dilemma to choose the right one. I have watched so many reviews, guides, benchmarks, videos etc. but in none of those I found my answer. So, lets ask here too. My build: 1. CPU: i5 8400 2. Motherboard : ?? TBD ?? 3. RAM: Corsair or G Skill 3000Mhz 8GBx2 C16 (C15 is hardly available in my place) Things I already have: 4. GPU: Zotac 1060 6GB amp edition 5. HDD: 1TB WD Blue 6. SSD: 250GB Samsung 860 Evo 7. PSU: Corsair CX600 Now lets come to the question. How much is the performance difference in Games when I compare the below set of boards with i5 8400 + 8GBx2 3000Mhz C16 RAM: Asus ROG STRIX H370-F GAMING $172 GIGABYTE H370 AORUS Gaming 3 WIFI $165 AND Gigabyte Z370 AORUS ULTRA GAMING 2.0 $246 Gigabyte Z370 AORUS ULTRA GAMING WIFI $269 Asus Strix Z370-F Gaming $243 Asrock FATAL1TY Z370 GAMING K6 $215 Because the difference is only in RAM frequency which I cannot use in H370, it is limited to 2666Mhz, so how much is the performance difference with 3000Mhz? Its like a bad feeling that I have a higher speed RAM but I cannot use it because of the motherboard limitation. Now when we consider the performance then comes the price, the prices above are what I pay in India. So is it worth going the Z370 way or take the H370? I would never go for future processor upgrade so no question of having the Z370 for future upgrades. I might overclock the GPU but that has nothing to do with the Board I guess. Now for the people out there who might suggest me to get 2666Mhz RAMs, to answer them, I can only find RAMs of 2400Mhz and above 3000Mhz, nothing in between are available.
