  1. I've had my pc for quite some time now and for a few months it worked fantastic, playing high intensity games, performing giant benchmarks but recently whenever I try to play any high intensity games my entire computer will flash random colors, (sometimes just green in a bunch of bits, matrix style) or go black and shut down. Then it will loop booting and rebooting until I switched it to CPU graphics only and my pc runs just fine. I tried to sort this out myself and I found something peculiar in an application called "Tech Power Up GPU-Z" and I get unknown in catagories like the BIOS, while other user's have the correct values there. I tried to watch a tutorial on how to fix it (Flashing my GPU BIOS) But I can't seem to get it to work. Please let me know if you need anymore information, I have boatloads just unsure what to do with it. Also please let me know if there is somewhere else I should post this to get further help.

The card is probably designed to be silent when at idle or low loads. The fan should spin up around 60c.

If you want the fan to spin at idle, install MSI afterburner and manually set the fan speed where you like it.

Looks like everything detects the card just fine.

Like it just won't use the 1050 ti when im playing, like on the side it doesn't said the graphics card name

No but when I play games like minecraft or do system scans my graphics card shows up as intel graphics.

  4. So I purchased a 3070 recently due to me wanting the upgrade for it and I'm finally able to play some games again but in the mean time I tried to play same games and realized my 1050 Ti isn't showing up nor are the fans spinning but yet Nvidia control panel still shows it connected and the monitor that it is connected to works just fine. Any advice? I'm asking before my 3070 gets here because I want to know if it is a GPU issue, a driver issue (Which I doubt I downloaded all the new drivers for everything with driver booster.) Or something else entirely like the PSU. The screenshots will show what I mean.

What is the budget you have in mind? Custom mechs can get up there in price.

I find that 60% loses a lot of functionality but 65% layouts are much better, the extra few keys and arrows make a big difference. If you want more keys and less bulk get a 75%.

MX Reds really only serve one purpose IMO, gaming, the actuation force is so minimal that for typing they bottom out easily and therefore are not favorable.

For a premium typing experience I would recommend a mid to heavier tactile switch, or a heavy linear.

Ah my budget is around 200, i can go a bit over but not by too much, I was thinking about going for the Kalih Speed Copper Switches,

  6. I currently use a SteelSeries MX 750 and it has served me well. However, I would like a less bulky keyboard. I still want a good amount of functionality because I type a lot of essays and play a good amount of games. I'm stuck between TKL and 75 right now. I would do 60 however I need the arrow keys and numbers for what I plan to do. 75% is looking pretty good rn. I also would enjoy switch recommendations, I want something relatively quiet but what some good resistance to it. And if you guys could recommend any kits, aluminum cases, or soldering gear to buy as well I would extremely appreciate it. (For the switches I don't really enjoy Linear or Cherry MX Reds.) Thank you so much and I'm super thankful for the help!

    Full specs?

CPU: Intel I7-6700K GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 TI FTW Motherboard: Asus Maximus Hero 8 PSU: 600W EVGA RAM: 16gb Corsair DDR4 Noctua CPU Cooler

(NZXT Case if that helps, and my monitors are a Asus and Dell, one is 1080 and the other is 1440)

  8. I was watching Netflix and playing minecraft on my computer when all of a sudden I got the blue screen of death. Coincidentally, work was being done on my street (underground) so the power and water was cut off and right as I got the blue screen. Now after the power was restored the computer turns on but nothing shows up on my monitors and my keyboard doesn’t work. I’ve tried hitting the CLEAR CMOS button on my motherboard, as well as removing the battery and replacing it. What else should I do to fix this issues? I’m open to all suggestions. (The CPU, graphics card and case fans all work and the motherboard’s lighting and other functions seem fine)

  9. My budget is 600 dollars, what do you think is my best option? From Budget, Performance, and just general reputation. here are my PC Specs:

CPU: Intel Core I7 6700k 4 ghz Quad Core Processor

Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

    RAM: 16 GB Corsair DDR4 3000

Storage: 1 TB Crucial NVME SSD

    PSU: 600W EVGA

    Current card: 1050 TI

Please let me know which would be best with this build. I have a a mid tower case so space isn't too much of a problem.

why pureos?  I'd try ubuntu or some other distro that is more likely to have the closed-source drivers that a surface laptop would probably need...

I've done a good amount of research and it is the most secure for what I want to do, however, if you think I have better chances with Ubuntu or Mint I would definitely be up to try an alternative.

  11. I have a surface laptop and I am trying to install Linux onto it, however no matter what I do it won't install. I flashed PureOS onto a large enough USB drive, disabled Secure Boot and TPM, as well as disabling all boot options except USB storage and I am at a loss with what else I need to do. Every time it's about to boot it restarts and goes back to the Surface UEFI screen or before I disabled the other boot options would just go straight to windows even while USB storage was put above it. if any of you can help I would really appreciate it.

  12. I am looking to upgrade my graphics card and was wondering what some recommendations would be. I was hoping for something less than 400 USD? If it is over I'd still appreciate the recommendation. Thank you

    My specs are:

    CPU: Intel Core I7-6700k

    RAM: 16GB DDR4

    STORAGE: 2 TB SSD

    GPU: GTX 1050 TI

  13. So, my current Bluetooth headphones I am using have a few problems, when used they are low quality and I am unable to change that in it's properties. And the other problem is. When a video is played the audio plays fine, until the video is paused. Then any other sounds made by the system and deafened and unheard. I have already gone to device manager to try to update the drivers. Tested out two different Bluetooth dongles for my computer, If you know how to fix this please help. I am still able to return the headphones if need be.

  14. I wanted to upgrade my monitor fairly soon, so i could have a dual monitor setup. With my current setup what monitor or display would you recommend? I am hoping to do some gaming and some photo and video editing from time to time. My budget is around 400 dollars, if it is a little more costly that shouldn't be a problem. I'm very open to a variety of options and monitors.

    My Specs:

    Intel 6700k

    16gb ddr4 2400mhz ram

    Gtx 1050 TI
