  1. yes the moment only 1 monitor received a signal i went into display settings and there was only one monitor detected, after unplugging and replugging didnt do the trick i restarted the computer, then both received no signal. like i wrote i did aaaalot of troubleshooting, basically my whole saturday evening and sunday are used now i updated the main post since i made some progress, still im uncertain what happend. and how to proceed from here on out, thanks for you help!
  2. thats an option ofc, right now i just try to figure out what could've happend, ill update my main post since i have an update to post, thanks for you help tho!
  3. both monitors work with HDMI on this PC, but just one output on the GP works. i dont have another DP cable so i cant say for certain that the cable isnt defective, however the output on one of the HDMI outputs doesnt work since i get a signal to both monitors seperatly on one of the outputs but not with the other one, and for my cheaper monitor theres also a port that doesnt work anymore, just receives no signal on that port. thats why i assume there was a short or something like that..
  4. Hello everyone! I have a new built PC, about 2 weeks old and my first one since over 8 years! i use a dual monitor setup and everything worked fine until yesterday when one of my monitors received no signal. i unplugged the cables and restarted the PC, this time neither monitor received a signal.. so i started the troubleshooting process and first eliminated the cables, none other worked. my system was booting correctly and my RAM was glowing (Trident Z RGB) still i proceeded with the 1 ram at a time process etc... long story short: about 8 hours of troubleshooting brought nothing until i was smart enough to try a diffrent port on my monitors! it worked, both had a signal. then i tried to change the port on the GPU aaand... no signal. so right now im confused as to what happend. did something short out my ports on both the GPU and Monitors? could it be a PCI-E problem? im scared to damage more parts, my main monitor was quite expensive and only has 1 DP which doesnt work anymore, some input would be greatly appreciated UPDATE 1: So i changed the PCI-E slot on my MB which actually revived the second HDMI output port! so i can use both monitors through HDMI again, however the DP still doesn't work and my main monitor only has 1 DP input. So i need to buy a second cable since i dont have one to verify that it isnt the cable. But on my other monitor which was running through HDMI at the moment where the problem occured, one of the HDMI ports is dead, its also the one which was used originally, so im left with one HDMI port on that monitor and im afraid that my DP port on my main Monitor died aswell.. what could've caused this to happen?
