Hello!
I started upgrading my PC approx November last year. At the beginning i knew some of the names of the different hardware inside the case, and absolutely nothing else about PC-building. By this time i have upgraded my old hard-disk to an SSD, and switched my old GTX 660 out with an GTX 1060 6gb.
I have bought the Ryzen 5 1600 and the ASRock Taichi x370. These i haven't installed yet, because i still need new ram for the motherboard. That leads me to my first question:
1. What ram is best for the new MOBO, and should 2x8 gb be enough for the next 5 years or so? (I don't plan to overclock, and you should also know that i don't understand the QVL).
I also need help with how to install all of this. I have been reading a lot on the net and think that the following plan is a safe bet (in the order written):
- Save important personal files, and new hardware drivers on an external harddisk.
- Physically install hardware in case
- At first boot spam F12, and choose to boot from USB.
- Restart and install windows.
- Install new drivers.
- Game whenever possible.
Which leads me to my second question:
2. Is there anything, and I mean anything at all, that i am missing here? Please write a thorough description of how to install the new hardware safely and correctly, with drivers and software and everything. Feel free to assume that i am a complete idiot when it comes to computers, and therefore wouldn't benefit from anything remotely resembling a vague explanation.
Thank you kindly in advance. :-)
