  1. I have had two major problems (which may or may not be related): Insane lag during PC use (not only gaming). This includes audio lagging and produsent a weird robotic noise, sometimes leading to a bluescreen. The audio and graphical lag always occur at the same time. The lag spikes can occur anywhere from a few seconds, to a few minutes, or until my computer crashes, which sometimes results in bluescreen. Windows wont start at all. I boot up the computer and i see the Windows loading icon spin, but then it freezes i.e. It stops spinning, and stays like that forever. This happened with both my boot drives and i could always access safe mode. This was finally fixed when i slotted my gpu in my other 16x slot, lower down. The issues happened randomly. I have been running the computer for several months without problems. There is seemingly no pattern for the lag to start and i haven't noticed any spikes in cpu og gpu usage, the times i have checked. Clues: To get rid of the lag i have also (where i have still experienced lag) -Uninstalled and reinstalled nvidia drivers (using ddu) -reinstalling windows -using a different boot drive I have also tried -using a different gpu, which did not lag the limited time i was borrowing it. - my friend who borrowed me his gpu also loaned mine and he experienced no lag. -checking the cpu And gpu temps (however no expensive testing has been done here) Relevant PC hardware -Asus maximus viii hero - 1151 skylake -dominator platinum 16GB ram -i7-6700k (not overclocked) -corsair 860w PSU -1070 strix GPU -256 GB SAMSUNG 950 EVO M.2 (OS) -120 GB ssd (OS) Bluescreen - video TDR failure (nvlddmkm.sys) (image attached) IMG_3154.HEIC
  2. I am building a computercase and want it to be usable for 140mm and 120mm fan. I have searched, but found nothing (may not know the correct keywords). I know that most cases have cutouts for most sizes of radiators and fans. Anybody got a clue of where to find something like that? Any help appriciated
  3. Not really sure what i am looking at here, but thank you
  4. For my custom computer case i need a way to mount a gpu with something like the picture attached: As i dont have many tools, but am going to waterjet a steel plate my plan was to cut holes for the things that the gpu to fastens to. I dont know what this is called which is why my description is so poor, but i need to know the length of these (red) aswell as the lenght of the spaces (blue) If anyone know this/ where to find this that would be greatly appriciated.
  5. did you ever find an answer? i am having the same problems as you.
  6. the games are on an HDD. I remember transferring it to my SSD and still lagging, although it cant hurt to try again. Already did, my temps are fine while playing games.
  7. Setup:i5 4690k16GB ramgtx 1070PG279Q (1440p, 165hz, g-sync)-----------------------------------------------------The last few months I have had a problem with my computer where all games stutter/microstutter.I have spent countless hours troubleshooting, and narrowed it down a tiny bit + getting some clues. For comparisons sake i compare different variables with csgo and sometimes fortnite.Things to note1: I tried with a different, 144hz, screen but it still stuttered (but not nearly as often. Maybe because it was 1080p), so i dont think its a monitor problem.2: I get just as much fps on 1440p as 1080p, which is 90-200 fps on medium/low settings. ( i have seen benchmark vids where the 1070 should be able to reach abt 400 fps on high settings in csgo)3: i swicthed GPUs (a 1070 ti), but the problem persisted (so i doubt its the GPU) I still got the same amount of fps.4: GPU usage is usually 20-40% and CPU usage is usually 50-90% when playing games.5!!!: I noticed that my frametime spiked every time there was a stutter.6: I ran a windows mem test diagnostic thingy. According to them, no problems.7: i tried overclocking my cpu to 4.4 Ghz. No luck, so I downclocked it back to stock until i fix the stuttering..8: I have had the problem both at home and at a lan (both with very good internet)9: I have uninstalled and reinstalled nvidia drivers several times with no luck.Any help is greatly appreciated
  8. UPDATE: I overclocked my i5 4690k to 4.4 Ghz with a max temps of 70 C ish. At first I thought the lag was gone, but later the lag was definitely still there.
  9. I measured the temps of my cpu at 100% for about 1 hour. Temps never exceeded 68 C, and usually stayed around 61
  10. oh i didnt even think that it may be bendt on the inside! thank you! will try hdmi cable tomorrow.
  11. doubt it, because when in-game cpu usually stays in between 80-95%. might check.
  12. Im at a lan rn, so already di that. The cable looked a tiny bit bendt, so i tried with a different display port cable whichgdidnt seem to help.
  13. PG279Q g-sync monitor 1070, i5 4690k, 16GB ram, I get random lag spikes/stutters in every game i play. Even league of legends. I tried with a different monitor. Still lag. I tried with High performance on power management setting. Still lag. Even when everything is running smooth for a few sec/mins, it still doesn't feel as smooth as it should (as iv'e seen with others) I've had this problem for a few months now and spent countless hours trying to fix it. It's driving me crazy. any tips to troubleshoot/possible fixes? -Any help is greatly appreciated :)
