  1. Very interesting, it might be something to look at if my two KVMs die in the future. I am currently running 2x https://www.tesmart.com/products/hks0802a1u-4-port-dual-monitor-kvm-switch-kit-hdmi-4k60hz-with-edid?variant=39302706888900 with one slaved to the other for 4 monitors between 2 computers.
  2. Arlo on Linus Cat Tips? Also I dunno where he fits on the Chonk Chart.
  3. Anybody know of the most least sketch way of purchasing a GSX Account (or service that's not pay per device check) for translating an Apple IMEI to Serial Number and visa-versa. Googling only provides the most sketch looking providers.

    RIP The Dream

Burger King from American didn't wanna pay what the bloke who registered the Burger King Trademark in Australia wanted, so they had no choice lol.

    RIP The Dream

Seeing as we get a new Prime Minister every year but we only vote every 3 years, I guess anythings possible. More than likely... Which makes it even worse ? "Jesus knew that there was a place for everything and it’s not necessarily everyone’s place to come to Australia." - Tony Abbott, Former Prime Minister. The best bits can be found in this video.

    RIP The Dream

Decided on the 28th of December to give Savage Jerky a try with the Xmas Swag promotion they were doing. However, when it finally arrived yesterday I was heartbroken. Out of the 1x Original Beef and 2x Maple Buffalo Bacon, The Australian Government seized the bacon and destroyed it ? I didn't even know Australia didn't allow Pork imports in the form of Jerky, but we don't keep up with who's Prime Minister anymore since they change yearly so it's my fault. I just really, really wanted to try it...
  8. The case and the PSU we're changed to black in the end, I seen your comment but forgot to reply after realizing that lol. I'll post a picture once it's assembled :).

    MHDD

Hey all, I just scanned my old 2TB HDD in MHDD, and it's gave me over 1000 150ms responses, nothing larger or any other errors thankfully. Is it still ok to keep using this HDD? I know the first 3 grays are ok, and the ones below green aren't good either. But their seems to be mixed feelings about the 150ms green blocks.

  11. Falls just under my 5K mark when converted to AUD, but I wanna give Threadripper a pass for the moment. Also you read my mind about what case/psu maker I was after. Trying to figure out if I want Trident RGB or Vengeance RGB, since I've already got many Corsair RGB peripherals.
  12. For those asking about budget, 3k-5k. Since living in Australia I get to claim it on Tax. Not the whole amount upfront, but large % of it over 3 years. If price to performance is really bad past the 8700K, than I'll probably sit for that. Worst case scenario if I need to upgrade at a later date, I can turn the 8700K build to the render/streaming slave, and than the current PC into my server. My current server is a 2nd gen i7 that holds all my large 4TB HDD's and any applications/vm's that I like running 24/7. It's almost 7 years old so god knows how much longer I have it for.
  13. Hi all, I'm starting to plan my next PC build, however I'm wondering which direction to go with the processor. I'm thinking between either the mainstream i7-8700K or perhaps looking at something a little higher, like the 8 core or perhaps the 10 core i7-7820X / i9-7900X. It'll be my everything PC, lots of chrome tabs, usually some form of video (YouTube/VLC), Gaming with the option to Stream to Twitch with no issues, and starting Post Production in Adobe PP. Currently using Sony Vegas but I'll be doing a Bachelor of Film and the place uses Adobe PP. I'll be planning on turning the current PC into a render slave, so being able to scrub and edit the timeline without lag is preferred over super render throughput. I currently use 4 monitors, 3x24 inch and 1x27 inch. None are 4K but I may look into getting a 4K monitor down the track, or at least something with 10 bit colour. I won't mind spending that bit extra if the price to performance lines up, as I want this to last me at least another 3-5 years as my current PC just past it's 5th Birthday. Looking forward to hearing your feedback in regards to the options :).
