  1. I would go with an i7, if your budget allows you to. An i5 though, is going to be better than the current mobile Ryzen chips. Though, your budget will say what you can and should get. How much are you looking to spend, and what type of features will you need?
  2. @Dodo_92 I would 110% go with the 1070 over the 1060 but we aren't exactly sure how it will perform against the RTX 2060. If you care about the GPU lasting longer and real time ray-tracing I would wait to see the cost and performance difference. Based on the cost of the 2070, we could assume the 2060 will be placed in the price range of the 1070 and perform better. I think that because the RTX 2070 performs similar or better than the 1080ti. But your upgrade is in an odd position due to Nvidia bringing a new architecture to the market, and the 10-series becoming "outdated". This page compares some leaked 2060 info to some other graphics cards discussed on this sub-forum. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2060-price-availability-benchmarks,38305.html. It is supposed to be formally announced on the 7th and be in stores the 15th of this month. Long story short, wait until the next gen cards are launched. Even if they don't perform well for the price, the price of current cards likely would drop.
  3. The whole system looks fairly good. I agree all you really need is a better GPU. I would recommend the 1060 if you need to upgrade right now. If not I would wait to upgrade until the 2060 comes out. I also would recommend to upgrade the processor, it is a great CPU for the age, and if your budget doesn't allow it you can keep it. But if you are able to get a new motherboard, ram, and CPU, I would do it. I would recommend these parts; https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-8400-Desktop-Processor-Cores/dp/B07KNKWQKR/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1546455840&sr=8-2&keywords=i5%2B8400&th=1 (comes with 16gb RAM! which is very important for modern AAA games) https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B360M-DS3H-LGA1151-Motherboard/dp/B07BQ9SSH7/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1546456166&sr=8-1&keywords=micro+atx+i5+8600k+motherboard. This board should fit your current case and will support the processor and RAM. Don't feel pressured to upgrade the CPU, RAM, and motherboard, just the GPU is all you really need. But this upgrade would give you a great rig that will last longer than what you have.
  4. Your best bet is the used market. Do NOT get that celeron laptop. I highly recommend looking on ebay. I would suggest taking a look at this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-ThinkPad-X240-Core-i5-4300U-1-9Ghz-4GB-RAM-128GB-SSD-Webcam-Win7-Pro-x64/183589809070?hash=item2abece2bae:g:XuEAAOSwqHdaxILn:rk:3:pf:0 It doesn't have 8gb RAM, but it would not be a hard upgrade. The other down side is its small storage, though it is an SSD. It should be plenty of space if you are JUST installing TF2, Paladins, and some pictures or movies. But with the extra money in your budget, you can get a larger SSD and more RAM. Let me know what you think!
  5. Most of the reviews of their desktops show cables disconnected, they don't even put the 10 cents in to paint the PSU. Makes you wonder what other things they have done to cut corners. Another thing to be weary of is the amount the dropped the price. They dropped it 475$, and they are still able to produce and sell them. You could also assume they are making a profit still, cause why would they want to lose money? The point is, go for something else.
  6. @Wanted-x, these are both great laptops for the price, I would go with the Acer Swift due to it being much faster. For a little extra you are getting A HUGE increase in performance. You could even do some light gaming on it, if you're in to that.
  7. They need internet to run. If you are only using for say chrome, they are great. You can also pick one up for only a few hundred USD. But they suck at anything else. But with your budget, don't even consider one. You should go with a Lenovo Yoga 730. Is a super great laptop, in fact it is my main driver. What ever model you get has an m.2 ssd (super fast storage) and 2 thunder bolt 3 ports. They are like USB C on steroids. Is also got pen support, which I take advantage of. The 1080p touch screen is a little saturated, but can easily be tuned down. If you have any questions about it, just ask! Here is a link: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Yoga-720-Touch-i5-8250U/dp/B076V6DPZN/ref=sr_1_8?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1545405518&sr=1-8&keywords=Lenovo+yoga+730
  8. Very odd. You could try to thaw it ?. But in all seriousness, how long ago did this start happening? Did it start to happen after an update of any sort, including drivers? The community would need to know these type of things to better help ya.
  9. Just tell me when to send it ?

    Hello

Heeyyyy! Just an ordinary guy here.
  11. Using what you said about the drivers, there is no doubt about Nvidia supporting the 20 series longer than the 10 series. But from what I have seen, a lot games are nearly identical on each card. The 1080 ti might have a 5-10fps increase over the 2070. The 2070 also has RTX, sure there is only one or two games out with RTX, but think of future AAA games.
  12. The fact that makes it even more sketchy, is the seller only has a rating of 10 (super low) and only has positive feedback, no negative or neutral in the last 12 months. In my opinion, don't do it, everything is super sketchy. If you want to go used, I would go with this (https://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1080-Ti-Gaming-X-11GB-GDDR5X-PCI-Express-3-0-x16-Video/273618246110?epid=245120001&hash=item3fb4eb19de:g:WfAAAOSw91JcDmv9:rk:9:pf:0&LH_BIN=1). This one seems legit and like a fairly decent seller.
  13. Then I would recommend a Titan RTX (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/titan/titan-rtx/?nvid=nv-int-ndtnrx-66563) at least due to it being more powerful (that is a joke, you don't actually need one). The reason I was saying to go with a 2070, is it has new architecture, it is going to be supported longer so he will not have to upgrade as soon. Basically making it future proofed compared to the 1080ti. But if he was planning to constantly upgrade, I would go with the 1080ti. @Soonkwang was just being broad in what he needed.
  14. I would go with the 2070 (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/rtx-2070/). If you did, you would want to upgrade your PSU. That is really only if you want the balls to the wall build though. If not, go with a regular 1070, it's still a great card.
  15. I made sure all of my drivers are up to date, I even reinstalled any driver I thought would effect it.
  16. Yes, I'ts brand new. I am using the included TB3 cable. I did however solve it not running on certain games.
  17. Hi, There are a couple of issues I am having with my eGPU, 1) I can not control the RGB in Aorus Engine, the menu for the RGB is just not there 2) When I plug it in while my laptop is on, it freezes and everything stops. It only works when shutdown then plug it in My laptop is the Lenovo Yoga 730 13" and the eGPU I'm using is Gigabyte's Aorus RX 580 Gaming Box. I have looked everywhere and could not find anyone with either of the listed problems, so I decided to land here. Any advice would greatly be appreciated, Cheers!
  18. My phone's camera is absolute dog crap. It literally looks like this:
  19. Each have their trade offs. For example consoles are easier to set up (than building a pc) and have lots of exclusives. But pcs can be upgraded and are more versatile. If I were you, I would build a pc. But all the power to you if you want to buy a console.
  20. My laptop has two Thunderbolt 3, but one of them has a charger symbol next to it. When I plug my laptop in either port, it receives a charge. Is it safe to use the one without the charger symbol? I have the Lenovo Yoga 730 13". Thanks!
  21. Are you going for an AMD or Nvidia card? for AMD I would go with the ASRock and for Nvidia I would go with the MSI.
  22. I had the tablet, I dropped it and got a crack on the screen and half the digitizer stopped working. I bought a replacement panel from Ebay which didn't solve the problem. The seller actually just sent me a bottom board and should be coming in about a week. The only physical damage is on the old screen though, I was thinking one of the sockets for the ribbon cable the screen connects to could have broke during the fall.
  23. I recently replaced the screen on my nexus 7, the whole front panel. That is because the whole left half of the digitizer is broken. Though when I replaced it, the same half of the digitizer wasn't working. The ebay seller I bought it from claims it was thoroughly tested and does have a good selling record. So could it have been the board the screen connects to that broke?
  24. I had kinda the same experience, though some were down under 10ms. Its not JUST typing, for example if I am playing a fast paced game, not every key will be registered.
