  1. Howdy! I've recently bought my forever home and I want to make my living room desktop setup as clean as possible. The main thing I want to do is put my PC in the cellar, and just have a desk with display, mouse and keyboard in the living room. (maybe cellar isn't the right word, it's more like a completly underground floor, including a garage) There's plenty of space, it's dry, it's cool, it's the perfect place for computer equipment. I've seen the devices on the Chinese wholesale websites, HDMI over ethernet and such, but those devices only support a refresh rate of only 60hz at 1080p or 30hz for 4k. I would like a device that let's me plug in HDMI/DisplayPort on the PC side and on the monitor side, and connect the two with ethernet or whatever cable it requires. I recall Linus having a 'remote' setup like this, it's there a list of devices involved?
  2. Sorry for typos and poor grammar, English is not my primary language. I've been looking into moving my PC to the garage where the temperature is lower and I'm not bothered by the noise and space my equipment takes up. The catch is, I want to move only the PC, keeping everything else as-is. Keeping my desk, monitor, speakers and all other peripherals at their current location. My router, switch, PiHole, 2x Synology NAS and a UPS are already in the garage and running wonderfully cool. A HDMI extender could work, but those seem to be capped at 60hz refreshrate at 1920x1080p, I recently bought a 144hz Samsung Curved QLED Gaming Monitor 49 inch LC49HG90DMU. Also, I use an optical toslink cable to power my old Logitech Z5500 speakers. Are there any niche devices that could run 144hz HDMI/Displayport, USB and Optical Audio over CAT 6 UTP?
  3. Hello everyone! A while ago I moved my gaming PC to the livingroom because my girlfriend does not appreciate me being out of sight and contact while we're both home. Which is fine by me, I don't need a mancave, the whole house is my mancave. Really, it is. Anyway, I've been using the MAD CATZ R.A.T. 7 for a few years now, it's a comfortable mouse but the buttons are too freaking loud. I was hoping there would be an episode comparing the last gen. mice again. It's been a while since we've seen a comparison of those.
  4. I'll keep that one in mind, thanks!
  5. No worries about abuse, it was just to illustrate how frustrating the clicking can get I've adjusted the title, I can image it might trigger someone who's been an abuse victim.
  6. Hello everyone, The question has been raised plenty of times in the past, but as time goes on, so do products. My gaming setup is in the living room, because I'm 31 and my girlfriend appreciates me being in the same room for most of the evening. The audible clicks produced by my R.A.T. 7 are a constant source of frustration, giving me the evil eye, turning up the TV to high volume, discussions, etc. I've even resorted using my trusty crusty (leaky battery) old Logitech Performance MX Darkfield as a backup. I've spent some time googling silent mice but most highly praised silent mice are not produced or sold anymore. What I'm looking for is a current-gen mouse with a (near) silent left and right mouse button, preferably right-handed and two thumb buttons. Opinions about the quietness are appreciated, but DBa values tell the truth. I've seen youtube video's about modding the clicker in mice but that stuff is just too small for my sausage fingers, and i'd rather not break my R.A.T.7, even though that'd please my girlfriend greatly.
