  1. Do a quick search and you can find out about deletion of data on SSDs, most of the time you can be sure every bit was flipped to zero but not all the time. The only way to be safe with a SSD is full disk encryption but I still rather go with a regular HDD
  2. FBI sure, what about the NSA? Backdoor intentional or unintentional?
  3. All VPNs cannot be trusted when it comes to logs/not working with the government so I wouldn't take that as a serious point and I'm outside Europe and their VPNs work perfectly fine, they have servers all over the world. If you're using a VPN to avoid emails from your ISP in regard to torrents just buy a cheap VPS (also called seedboxes) for $2.50 and download the torrents that way.
  4. If you are not using airvpn with all its security features such as tunneling through SSL/SSH and other features that can be found on airvpn.org then why are you even trying? Also it be really secure you should utilize a OS that tunnels everything through TOR such as tails or whonix depends on what you are defending against.
  5. Yes its about what you put out there, not using Facebook you are volunteering not to give out certain data but using a compromised OS you are giving out data without agreeing to it (unless you install a different OS) I have the same issue, I need stock android to conduct certain work. I have two phones one with copperhead OS and one with just plain android. The plain android phone has the two apps that are required for work and it is only turned on when I am working once I start my private life I turn off the phone and put it into a signal blocking pouch for extra safety and use my copperhead OS phone. fdroid has a lot of cool apps that are not even on the play store so thats a added benefit.
  6. The OS only uses apps from a alternative app store "F-Droid" all the apps there are open source and have been verified to contain no malicious code before being put onto it but nice try. Edit: Also airplane mode on stock android will still keep track of your location ect whereas on copperhead os airplane mode actually works and disables everything (3g/4g, wifi, bluetooth ect)
  7. But privacy is a collective right and you should care about it because it will affect you, you may not care about privacy for the sake of convenience but it will get to the point where it has no benefits at all and then its too late. Its like how everyone was "shocked" about what Facebook does with your data and I'm sure when Facebook first started it was only basic data collection/advert targeting but it grew into the monster it is now.
  8. SSDs and SSHDs are really unsafe, even with a secure delete (replacing all the bits with zero) you cannot be sure all the data has been deleted. I would go with a harddrive and use full disk AES-XTS-PLAIN64 encryption.
  9. Image result for tinfoil hat

Emails are just a normie example, if you want to get serious you can talk about how using javascript can trigger DOM storage on your browser and store information that cannot be clear kinda how a supercookie works. Android phones and most likely phones with ios track your location through GPS and wifi and upload it to Google servers even with airplane mode on. Royalty cards track you and if you take public transport with one of those electronic tickets that you just tapped you are tracked. There is so much I go into about how you are tracked.

What do I think will happen? Nothing, I dont do anything illegal as well its just my way of saying fuck you to the mega corps of Apple, Google, Amazon ect. Imagine if every person in the world stopped giving 80 percent of their meta data to them. Googles business model would collapse (a good thing)

I don't think Google cares that you do it. because so many others don't. but I guess if you think you are doing something important thats all that matters right? live your own life and do what makes you happy.

  10. oy vey I require money to ever put effort into a project, there are people out there would have no problem with making open source tools to help others also the GPL license that Linux and other opensource software is released under forces companies that use Linux to share any changes or improvements that are made to the kernel and other programs in the user space released under GPL. If cisco takes the Linux kernel and improves it they are legally required to release those changes under GPL.
  11. Not owning a phone that can supported and is flashed with copperhead OS, its like you want to be tracked. https://copperhead.co/android/
