  1. I paused the most recent video (how to set up your new PC in 30 minutes) to answer a question my wife asked me. Think I accidentally generated a new linus meme. I present - High Linus (name pending)
  2. That is super helpful to know! Thanks!
  3. Hi all! I am finishing up a journey to completely get rid of all of my RGB, sick of dealing with software. The last two items I need to replace are my mouse and keyboard. I have been looking into options and have some ideas, but nothing really seems to fit me, I was hoping that some people may have some more knowledge on this! For keyboard: Prefer a 96-100% layout, I use the keypad for work too often not to have it, and want to minimize desk clutter (And have limited usb ports on my KVM) so getting a sperate keypad isn't something I am willing to do , media volume control is also a bonus. I like the KBDFans Odin and the Keychron Q5, but there is a pretty drastic price difference. I purchased a 63 key tester from Drop and I have decided that I want to get the ZEALPC Zeallos 65g to start if I can, so I need a kit that doesn't come with switches. And of course, I would really prefer not to have RGB on the board at all. For Mouse: All I can say is that my Logitech G500 from years ago is still my favorite mouse I have ever owned. I just want something reliable, wired/wireless, 2-4 programmable buttons, Palm grip, no RGB. Thought about going back to Logitech (currently have corsair Dark Pro) but thought I would put out a feeler. If I am honest, RGB as an option is fine, i just dont want to have a software like iCue ever again, I want something that works as expected without needing to open and reopen software all the time. TLDR Looking for recommendations with the following: Keyboard pref- Premium, no switches, no rgb(software), Has Keypad, volume control Mouse - Palm Grip, Wired/Wireless, 3-4 programmable buttons (Thumb), No RGB(Software) Available on amazon is a bonus as I have gift cards, but by all means not required. Thanks to everyone in advance! Here are links to what I did mention above. 4. Budget (including currency): $700 USD (Preferably less, looking for best bang for the buck) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Emulation (NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, GameBoy, Game Boy Color, Playstation, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, X360, PS3), Steam (Old/Indie), Steam Link Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi all! Im looking at building/Customizing a HTPC to put into the living room. Want to primarily emulate but also do some light gaming through Steam. I am looking into Batocera but I have no experience and dont want to arbitrarily waste money for this build. I figured I would just get a Minis Forum barebones pc, add a quick SSD and some RAM and go from there. Currently the base system I have chosen is a Minis Forum Neptune HX80G (Ryzen 7 5800H & Radeon RX 6600M), would anyone with experience with these be able to let me know if this is overkill for running some X360/PS3 games? I would say 1080p 60fps is sufficient fore me, all other emulated consoles I would be happy with just some simple upscaling. Current "Parts" list - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dGRsH2 Thanks to everyone in advance!
  5. Hi all! I am a university student in Idaho working with my predictive analytics class on text analysis right now. We are taking responses to a short 2 question open ended survey! I hope this is allowed here, but I am going to post the link if anyone is interested or nice enough to help out! We would really appreciate having as large of a data set as we can manage, but no pressure! Thanks you all of you in advance! https://forms.gle/8TNeuU2vSu466mEw8
  6. Hello everyone! So im running an i5 8600k, and just ordered myself a 2060, however I am using a 450 watt power supply. According to a power consumption table posted by Tech Spot using an 9900k as well as overclocked RAM (Posted Below), a 450 Watt PSU shoupd be fine for this configuration. But following the LTT "PC more efficient than a console" video i have been curious and reading a lot into undervolting my CPU. I have been able to find articles and videos showing that its even possible to undervolt while still staying stable at stock core speeds, but frankly I have little to no experience with overclocking or otherwise, much less on the ROG BIOS. I would love to bring my power consumption down a little bit, both for the sake of my power supplys efficiency curve as well as my CPU's cooling in my ITX case (its an NZXT H200 but still, I have open sound stage headphones so I will take all the silence I can get) So I am reaching out essentially to see if anyone can help lead me into learning how to bring my voltage offset down with this BIOS. Sorry for the wordy post! Thank all of you in advance for any advice or guidance you have to offer!
  7. I guess thats fair, I couldnt find much in the way of sku to sku benchmarks, so i figured there might be more gain than that. 2060 it is then! Thanks!
  8. Yeah if we assume i can get a higher overclock on the 1660ti its about 10%, and the strix model is discounted to about MSRP for a 1660ti at the moment (270 i think is what its supposed to be at, and its on par or better than others on newegg or PC parpicker)
  9. In all the videos I've seen I've only seen like attend a 15 frame difference, plus i figured with the extra performance from the strix model and some OC it might pull a bit closer to a 2060 thats more akin to stock
  10. Hello everybody, I'll keep it short, video card busted on me this week, ordering a new one. There is a Strix 1660Ti for $310, but there is also RTX 2060 for $345 Saving for a wedding and on a fairly tight budget? Does the community really think that Ray Tracing and a like 5 to 10% performance boost is worth 40 bucks? (Not to mention the strix model looks ?) Both have free shipping. HALP ME DECIDE ? P.S. I only have a 450 watt power supply (Corsair SF 450 Gold), and a Mini ITX so anything more than a dual slot GPU will be tough to fit, 2.5 max. If that sways any opinions
  11. Thanks! I let it crash again after making that change and the error I got was CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, I scanned the QR code that went along with it, Microsoft basically hunting for Buggy Drivers, maybe I will actually have to do that Enderman suggested. Would almost rather it be a component issue so I have an excuse to upgrade haha
  12. They all say the same thing that is on that image, "Stopped responding, crashed, or lost power". that doesnt really narrow it down for me lol. should I be looking somewhere else?
  13. I actually diddnt know that Event viewer existed until just now, Would these be it? seems about right
  14. Unfortunately It just quickly flashes and I cant see the code, Tried using the slow motion on my Note 9 to try and catch it but it was overexposed and I couldn't see it still
