kiwibacon got a reaction from ManosMax13 in I never realized how crap 4790k was until now.
I honestly thought 4790k was still a pretty good chip for gaming.
    How I was so wrong.
    Most games gpu limited anyway.
But after putting in my 3800x

But after loading star citizen my fps doubles.
From 50fps too 100fps ( my monitors limit).
FF15 no low spikes now and +20 fps.

    This really blows my mind.

And no low spikes in any games anymore.

kiwibacon reacted to Windows95 in 12 cores for gaming.
im going to buy 3900x because for 100 more bucks 4 more cores its a steal

    3600 or 3700x max imo.

12 cores for gaming is like....overkill. 16 is even worse.

same argument was true when i bought my quadcore. no game uses more than 4 cores....

so with ryzen on the border i will have an m.2 slot on my motherboard.
currently using a sata ssd 500mb/transfer speed.

    current m.2 pci 3 ssd is 2300mb/s
and rumor of pci 4 is 5500 mb/s

any advantage for gaming on these higher transfer rates????

    kiwibacon got a reaction from Origami Cactus in (16core added)AMD 3000 specs! 4.7 GHZ, R9 3950x, R7 3700x, 3800x.
3800x is going to be the best gaming chip in the line up. Clearly 3900x is cut down 16 core. While 3800x is higher binned 3700x
But is that worth the money over the 3700x will be the question.

this gpu is like the easiest cooler to remove  i have seen.
take the back plate off first.
which will show more screws to remove the cooler.
(just look for screws and  take them off)
download the EK watercooling manuals if you need help.

more expensive. wait is that a negative?
i suppose it would prevent heat spikes but i doubt that is a problem on custom loops. prob better to get 2nd radiator.

kiwibacon got a reaction from Megah3rtz in did i go overboard @ EVGA
    1. ryzen crosshair board requires an 8pin and a 4pin power supply.
    2. i had lost my 2nd 8pin connecter from evga G2 1000w supply
    3. I asked EVGA for replacement and @ what cost, they told me to register on website and enter serial code.
    4. Upon realizing that serial number is not available unless you remove power supply from case "left side of power supply supply"
5.I said to EVGA "their support s terrible and I refuse to ever buy their products."
6.Reply" I would of sent it to you for free."

...even worst than nvidia you must register if you want automatic update notifications

also more games will take advantage of multiple cores now that 6/8 cores are accesible.
Many games already take advantage of 6+ cores.
    ie battlefield,racing games
lets not forget about star citizen if it ever launches i will definitly be getting that game.
if you stream you need cores even for games like dota.
my 4790k couldnt even stream wow.
personally im upgrading my 4790k @ 4.8ghz to a ryzen 1700x if the benchmarks checkout.
i feel like an idiot for buying it should of stuck with my 2500k, derp.

i used to 2 years ago those were the good days when the 7970 was a new card.
now you need specilized hardware "asics" so its not worth the cost of power .
I have heard litecoins are profitable now but dont quote me on it. Could be worth running the numbers....
