Hakka got a reaction from da na in Experiences with non-techies
Yesterday a friend complained that his new mobile phone(cellphone) was no good because he couldn't access facebook due to the fact that it didn't have a caps lock key. I showed him the up arrow button for uppercase characters, but he said 'nah, I need caps lock for the numbers'. I spent the next 20 minutes trying to convince him that caps lock doen't affect the numbers but he insisted it makes them bigger, and his password has some big numbers in it therefore he couldn't login.

Hakka got a reaction from Thephenom696 in Logitech z623. Are they good?
I have a pair of those, got them from officeworks for half price. They are ok for watching youtube vids but they are absolute shit for music.

That would be an analog signal, which doesn’t require a dac.

Some of the images show a ZXR soundcard, I've swapped that out for the AE-5. The res looks dirty in this pic due to the lighting i used for the photo:
Had to remove the lower bit of the 5.25 cage to fit the XE360 rad.
The 1080ti backplate has been modded to make it compatible with the EK waterblock.

Hakka got a reaction from Marinatall_Ironside in Watercooling the 780t
Almost done. I just fired it up for the first time. I'm waiting on some cables and adapters to go in the back so i can thin out the wires coming from the psu, got some cable combs but they didn't fit so waiting for another set. Also need to give it a good clean.
temps displayed below are after 45 minutes of Wildlands.

**Watercooling build log starts near the bottom of this page**
I've just transferred it to a new case (Corsair 600t to 780t) and added SLI 1080s and a few other bits and pieces, lots more room in this one and much better airflow. I'll be switching this over to a full custom watercooling loop.
Been looking at an X99 & 6900k setup but the performance increase isn't big enough to justify the cost.
Ivy Bridge E 4930k @4.4ghz

64gb Gskill Ripjaws
2 x Strix GTX1080s & MSI Hb bridge
Creative ZXR
7 x SSDs
Corsair H100i
Corsair AX1200i
Cables are a bit messy at the moment, especially around the bottom of the motherboard. Not sure about the white case, it looks ok but everything else in my room is black, I'm thinking about giving it a custom paintjob and going for a damaged metal look. I'm gonna do a test run on an older case first to see how it looks.
I need to swap out the white lights on the control panel for red ones, and get rid of the hue led controller that doesn't work properly. Might put a Hue+ in it. I'm running 3x120 Riing fans in the front (in) and one in the floor (in), a 140 in the rear (ex) and 4x120s on the H100i in push/pull (ex). It flows a heap of air, just finished 2 hours of Battlefield 1, the top card peaked at 61degrees C overclocked to 2088 mhz.
I bought some Primochill anti kink for the coolant hoses, ordered red but its actually pink so had to paint it. I really want some LED ram but cant find anything decent in DDR3. The light on the SLi bridge is a bit too bright, might have a look inside it and see if I can tone it down a bit.
I have 3 more SSDs stuck on the rear of the 3 you can see, and another one around the back of the tray. I have some carbon fibre look vinyl to cover the white parts, I'll probably end up adding a panel to cover all that so I can mount a coolant reservoir to it.
Also got an Acer X34 Predator to replace my triple 24" surround setup, I don't miss the extra width.
Here's the rig that most of the parts came from:

Started putting the hardware in, the blank on the rearside of the ek fc terminal doesn't clear my soundcard so had to go with tubing instead.

There's 6 standoffs on the backplate that need to be drilled out to 2.5mm. You can then use longer screws that go throught the backplate>pcb and screw into the waterblock standoffs.
it's an easy mod, but you'll need a drillpress to reduce the chance of damaging the backplate.

A bit more detail for future reference:
These are the standoffs that need to be drilled out to 2.5mm. You'll need 6 screws, m2.5 x 7mm or 8mm.
To put it together you attach the backplate to the pcb using the screws & standoffs that you didn't modify (don't forget to plug in the rgb header). Then fit the waterblock, and finally insert the m2.5 screws through the modified standoffs.
I have a zxr soundcard in the slot above one of my strix cards, the silver screws with the large heads prevent the soundcard from lining up with the pcie slot, i had to use the low profile black screws for that area (those screws came with the ek block).
