  1. If you look at the reviews on the Fosi Q5, there are many claims about it being dysfunctional loud on its own sometimes so I'm putting it on hold for now and look for a standalone DAC instead.
  2. it does, you can adjust the output volume with the controller that way too. yea but the d10 has usb input only no?
  3. Trying to look for something that my Nintendo Switch can also plug into, my TV has RCA, Optical, and 3.5mm while the switch has 3.5mm.
  4. Both of these options are about the same price total. Which would be better? Or is there something else with this price range that can do better? Thanks.
  5. Decided to go with Topping MX3 and sell my FiiO K3. Didn't want to use my FiiO for the dac or no dac so I decided on the MX3 which has a build in dac that shouldn't be too bad. Now I wait a few days and test if I can tell the different or not. Hope that these things dont go on sell on Junly 4th, I'll be really bitter otherwise.
  6. Did some reading on the MX3 (https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-topping-mx3-dac-amp.7312/). Everything seem fine but the low quality dac and slight distortion. Back to square one.
  7. They just came back on US amazon like over an hr ago so you might want to check that out.
  8. Forget what I said about them might be weak, I looked a little more into it. Currently checking the Topping MX3, maybe i'll just sell my Fiio K3 and replace it with MX3 for an all in one solution. This should still be within the budget. Unless I can find some other amp that would work better in this situation.
  9. I was looking through the 2 pinned threads for what to consider when shopping for passive speakers amp but couldn't find anything. I'm guessing these are what I need to keep in mind? Impedance: 4-8 Ohms Power Handling: 15-100 Watts (Each) - (taken from Micca RB42 specification page) If that's so, won't the "50W x 2 power output into 4 Ohm, 30W x 2 into 8 Ohm" of the Micca Origain a little weak? While the LOXJIE only specify "Output Power: 60W+60W(422)" and nothing about impedance.
  10. I want to do an upgrade to my desk audio setup and decided to buy a pair of Micca RB42 (https://www.miccatron.com/micca-rb42-reference-bookshelf-speakers/). What would be a good budget amp around $100?
  11. Already did, $4 at walmart for some tape and felt. Also do you know the best setting for this?
  12. While waiting for shipping I modified the HD 58X by removing the pads for a wider sound stage, that actually made it sounds better. After the Fiio K3 and the Dac X6 arrived, I decided to keep the K3 after using them for over a day constantly. it just look better, smaller, and that bass boost is really nice. Back to the headphones, the HD 58X is flatter (as we already know) and probably is what the sound should be like, but I personally like the bass boost + Cloud II over the bass boost + HD 58X. The HD 58X in the end doesn't really justify what I paid for in my opinion, but I like it enough to not sell it or return it for now. Maybe I'll come to understand it's value one day. But the K3 dac/amp combo is definitely worth it so Im happy with that.
  13. I'll just get both and test it myself then return one one of them, can't get anywhere reading up reviews.
  14. I saw that too, but there are more audio outputs and the usb to dac/amp is too unreliable since it doesn't work all the time. There are the headphones jack from the top of the switch, and the other outputs from my TV (optical and RCA). I don't plan on using it strictly with a computer so I'm looking for dac/amp combo with extra line in if possible.
  15. A Nintendo Switch. I use it everyday more than I do with my phone.
  16. Regardless I still want to buy a dac/amp combo for the HD58X to see what it can do. And I don't think this thread is going in the wrong direction. I own a Cloud II and a HD58X, one is good for game and one is good for music but either of them can do both of these tasks no problem. I just want to know the clear differences when comparing these and confirm if the HD58X justifies the price I paid (I'm a typical broke student). Right now the HD58X isn't doing its best due to the lack of an amp (and a dac too I guess) so yea, I'm looking to buy a budget one with multiple line in and line out for future uses such as when I buy some studio monitors. Follow that note, I been looking up different dac/amp combos and found the Fiio k3 to be a pretty good one, the only thing it lacks that im looking for is multiple line in. It only has USB for input, it's not much of a concern for me right now since the only device I want to plug that in also is my Switch but I maybe I'll need that in the future. So there's that...
  17. Might as well go all the way.
  18. Was thinking of buying the Fiio K3 also.
  19. Figured i would need a dac/amp at some point, any recommendation for a combo under $100 or around that price range? I'll spend some time looking into these for now, only got into audiophile recently.
  20. For the Cloud II, I'm using the included usb controller (which does boost the max volume a little), and for the HD 58X I use the motherboard back connector (MSI Z370M Mortar) and the cloud's controller in some cases. Judging from the 150 ohms of the HD 58X I don't think I would need an am for now. It doesn't get as loud as the Cloud II, maybe around 60% of the cloud at max volume when using with the usb controller.
  21. Recently bought a HD 58X to use along with my Cloud II. While I do notice a slight better sound in general listening, I don't feel anything different in games. The only difference I could clearly point out is the vocal (better, but not by much). Can anyone who had experiences with these 2 headphones give me a clearer distinction between them? Or some different methods I can use for testing the sound (other than playing music, games while switching them constantly which I have been doing). Considering returning the HD 58X if I can't really see a big difference from the Cloud II.
  22. Getting an i5 9600k (from i5 8400), i need more ram for photoshop and 3dsmax.
  23. Recently I started working on larger project in Phtoshop and 3dsmax (both running at the same time). Ram usage is always above 90% so yeah, pretty sure i need more ram. Photoshop went "not responding" today and i can't take it anymore. Ram was 99%-100% atm.
  24. The motherboard supports dual channel and i'll fill up all 4 slots with the same kind of ram. I'm not sure if that'll cause any issue however.
  25. I plan to upgrade from 16gb (2x8gb) ram to 32 gb (4x8gb) ram, all will be running at the same speed and populate all the slots on my motherboard (z370m). Will it slow down the pc? (boot and general uses). Thanks.
