  1. Is this video legit? The FPS differences seem massive, especially since my friend is gaming on 1080p I can upgrade it to a 5600 for 39SGD/28USD. Feel like it's worth it imo
  2. I'm buying from a brick and mortar store, as those are cheaper here (plus no delivery time) These are the choices I have for an SSD AFAIK, Sandisk, Crucial BX500 and Lexar SSDs are DRAM-less I usually go for WD Blue(although they're usually out of stock), or Crucial MX500 Any suggestions from something here? Anything Samsung is out of the question, way too expensive
  3. The plan is to get 16 right now, and upgrade to 32 later if needed
  4. Nah, building for a friend and he prefers brand new. Would a 5600 be better price-wise? I think it's about 25-30USD more expensive The case brand is pretty famous in this region for good-quality knockoffs, and they're really cheap Was thinking of changing it to an NVME drive too, the case might not have enough space for the drives, since I might be adding in previously used drives Any recommendations for a better SATA/NVME SSD?
  5. Budget (including currency): $1500 SGD (~$1070 USD) Country: Singapore Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Everything from AAA like RDR2 to e-sports like CS:GO Other details: Playing at 1080p 165hz CPU Ryzen 5 5500 Motherboard Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC Wifi $370 RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 16 $99 GPU Gigabyte RTX 3060Ti Eagle OC $715 PSU Corsair RM650 $148 SSD 1TB Crucial MX500 $135 HDD 2TB Seagate Barracuda $77 Case Tecware Nexus Air M2 TG $43 TOTAL $1,587 (in SGD) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VQ8pDq Any suggestions/things to take note? Haven't kept up with PC parts for a while, chose AMD because it's much cheaper than Intel here
  6. The constant sounds amplify the problem, I still get cut out even when speaking normally I have tried combinations of all the voice settings, all of them don't work
  7. I have an Audio Technica ATR-2500x-USB microphone, and my voice keeps getting cut out on discord. Especially when I make a constant sound, the voice playback bar shows the sound level repeatedly going to zero. Krisp noise surpression is off, as well as echo cancellation, noise reduction, advanced voice activity etc. I've also tried to have input sensitivity be automatic and manual, which didn't work (even with the sensitivity slider set to the most sensitive). When I use windows 10's built in voice recorder/video recorder, it's completely fine. Seems like Discord is still somehow applying some sort of background noise removal? It is still affecting how others hear me when I speak normally.
  8. I have a friend who currently has a 3600 and a 2060, and he wants to upgrade to a 3070/3080. He currently has a Cooler Master MWE Gold 650W power supply(iirc it's tier B). Will it be enough for a 3070/3080?
  9. that's completely fine what program are you using to monitor the usage and temps?
  10. what are the temperatures like in game
  11. He needs Wi-Fi capability and doesn't want to get an ugly PCIe card for that I'll keep that in mind, thanks!
  12. Alright. That's one issue sorted. I have another question: The Gaming X Trio is really expensive. Would it be wise for me to go for a cheaper model? I've listed them below MSI RTX 3070 GAMING X TRIO 8G - SGD$939 Zotac RTX 3070 Twin Edge 8G - SGD$799 MSI RTX3070 VENTUS 3X OC 8G - SGD$888 MSI RTX 3070 VENTUS 2X 8G - SGD$859 Asus RTX3070 Dual Series 8G - SGD$829
  13. Just FYI, I'll be buying parts in person as it's cheaper, so I can still bargain from the prices shown on PCP. For example that RM650x would probably be like SGD$160 -FE cards aren't in Singapore(iirc) -I'll look at the arctic freezer -I'll try my hand at bargaining, if there is enough leeway I'll get the 3600MHz RAM Do you know if this motherboard supports BIOS-flashing without a CPU installed?
  14. Budget (including currency): $2500 SGD / $1700-1800 USD Country: Singapore Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Planning on playing AAA games at ultra with RTX/DLSS on whenever possible. Some esports too. Planning to play at 1080p 165Hz, and RTX 2000 is still at MSRP here in Singapore, hence the 3070 choice. I have this planned build right now for a friend(assuming I can find stock for a 3070 and 5600x in the first place). I'm a little worried about the BIOS flashing of the B550, since the B550 doesn't support 5600x out of box. Any input on the motherboard choice, PSU choice etc.? Prices here are like 20-30% higher than MSRP for Ryzen 5000 and RTX 3000. Everything else is 5-10% more expensive than US pricing. 15. Would broken boot drive result in all fans turning off but the mobo light remaining? That's the one thing that's leading me more towards PSU issue than anything else I've had other PCs with broken boot drives, usually the OS freezes and then boot drive is not detected in BIOS, here we can't even get to the BIOS
  16. You're welcome! Also, did you get that from an old post of mine? Don't remember troubleshooting any Discord-related issue recently
  17. Built my friend a PC a while back - specs listed below. He was using Discord when his screen suddenly went black. After he restarted his computer, it posted fine, but the screen turned black upon seeing the AORUS logo. At the same time, every fan in the system stopped working. GPU fan was already at 0% fan speed before this happened. Motherboard lights were still on. Peripheral lighting(keyboard, mouse etc) all turned on during post, but turned off as well at the same time. I'm leaning towards a PSU failure, have already tried different power sockets. Any other input on this before we go buy a new PSU?(Warranty claims here are a pain in the ass, so probably wont bother) CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Mobo: Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3200MHz HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB SSD: WD Blue 1TB GPU: Zotac RTX 2070 Super AMP Case: Tecware Vega F3 Case Fans: 2x Tecware F3 (6 fans in total, all connected to PSU directly via molex) PSU: Cooler Master MWE Gold 650W Thermal Paste: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut
  18. @Skipple @DakotaWebber Someone on reddit suggested I check my network profile, and sure enough it was set to 'Public', which is why the firewall blocked a lot of connections. Changing it to 'Private' fixed everything. Thanks for the help though!
  19. A bunch of friends(trusted friends) usually connect to it, so I think that should be fine. Thanks for the help
  20. Since my minecraft server is running on a separate PC, as long as I don't download anything on it I should be fine right? I usually download server packs etc. on my PC, then transfer them over through a thumbdrive anyway.
  21. Considered that, but in all seriousness, is this a good idea?
  22. If you mean port forwarded(on the router settings website), then yes. I could connect to the server through local and public IP, but only when windows defender firewall was turned off on the server PC. Third party websites show the port as open when the firewall is off. Firewall logs show dropped connections in the same port everytime I try to connect to the server
  23. So I was port forwarding to set up my minecraft server, and everything went well but I couldn't connect. Third party websites say that the port 25565 is closed on my IP. I turned off Windows Defender Firewall on the server PC, and the port was open according to the third party website, and my friends and I could connect, which suggests the port forward was successful but the firewall was blocking the connection. So, I tried adding a new rule to the firewall to let port 25565(on both UDP and TCP, and both inbound and outbound). Doesn't work. Firewall Logs still show the connection being dropped after the new rules are set. Am I doing anything wrong?
  24. My bad, on GPU. Both core and mem OC. I'll try the default timings. Yeah, figured so. Thanks for the help, guess all I can do is wait at this point. Hopefully the memory thing helps a little
