Venturing into the world of motorcycles, took my MSF class last weekend and bought this KLR today. Previous owner was top-class guy from Scotland who really kitted it out, a really good adventure bike.

The latest thing I purchased was a box of 12 old, dead NVIDIA graphics cards that I'll try to fix up just for fun (they were only $25). Though those will not get here for a while (pic from ebay listing). So the last thing I bought that I actually have here is a (sold as) broken PowerColor R9 280X ($20) that I also got working again and that's now inside my deep learning rig.

Got a whole lot of camera-related gear, but let's first talk about this.

It's a wriststrap called the Peak Design Cuff designed for cameras ranging from big DSLRs to compact point-and-shoots.

I went with a wriststrap because I hated how cumbersome conventional neck/shoulder straps proved to be in my daily use, sometimes getting dangled up on tripods and other times just becoming a chore to store. The Cuff solves many of my issues mostly because it's small and fits snugly onto my wrist, so I can use my camera as freely as I want to with the added security of it being attached to some part of me.

My favorite part though is that it can easily be detached, leaving only anchor points that I can then reattach either the Cuff or other straps with the Peak Design anchor on them (they do sell the anchors separately, so you can put them on the strap you already have). It also folds up to become a pretty solid bracelet.

When you're so good at your job you get dumped with more work load and more responsibilities at the same time but of course don't get a pay raise.

IIRC water pumps take longer to heat up but also take longer to cool down, if you're doing CPU-intensive tasks then go overkill on water cooling. On the flip side with air cooling the heatsink immediately heats up but also immediately cools down which is important when the CPU is working for hours on end. With both you need proper air flow but more so with an air cooler than an AIO which should already have plenty of fans included. If you're just doing gaming then a $100 AIO or a $50 air cooler will be just fine.

I would take XP's design over Windows 10's design, it feels like Microsoft is sniffing glue.

Tbh I had a crappy work ethic when I went to college and didn't really know what I wanted to do, I wish I had gotten a job for at least a year before going. If nothing else it gets you away from the somewhat artificial world of education and helps build better work ethic and a better perspective upon actually attending. Not to mention universities are trying to appeal to people who are in the work force nowadays, so transitioning shouldn't be as hard today.

Just got back from a 5,987 mile road trip with my dogs so figured i'd post some pics, the car is a 5-speed 2007 Subaru Impreza that I paid for in cash 6 years ago, only problem on the entire trip was having to get the battery replaced but thankfully the old one died in town. Had a lot of fun off-roading in the car and might beef up the suspension and get a set of off-roading tires in the future.
