There's no concrete answer because there's varying quality within brands. It's more useful to look up motherboards with features you need and read individual reviews. 
For example, ASUS are cutting edge hardware makers with many exceptional products, but their TUF lineup is really crap. Their customer service also blows.
EVGA suffers similarly.
MSI is one of the most ubiquitous brands, but for the price, their quality us lacking.
ASRock just blows. They make cheap stuff that breaks easy and their customer support can't do squat.
Gigabyte is like the good version of ASRock. Their stuff is cheap but it's also good. While not high performance, it is reliable.

I've been in your exact same position, here are your options:
 
1) Start Full-Time Job Now:
Going into a full-time job right now and ditching college means you can only apply to jobs that your resume allows you to qualify for, and those are usually not very high-paying jobs. By going for this route, you are gaining work experience and earning money, allowing you to earn promotions and potentially apply to new jobs and work your way up the employment ladder.
 
2) College -> Full-Time Job
Best of both worlds; Go to college, complete your course, and apply for a full-time job with your shiny new degree/diploma on your head. This will definitely allow you to apply for high-end jobs.
This route is the longest and most difficult route to take, but it rewards you the most between choosing college or a full-time job.

They are compatible, however I wouldn't necessarily go that route. A Ryzen 5 2600 with a decent B450 board will be much better than the 8350K for non-gaming and even gaming workloads, and the Corsair VS power supplies aren't really up to snuff for a system of that caliber. I'd go with a grey label CXM at least.

I have an 8600K overclocked and a GTX 1060 and I run a 450W power supply. Mine is stable since my system at full load uses a max of 250W give or take. You've also chosen the same PSU as me.

If you have to choose one, let it be the NZXT H500! H700 is hella expensive, the S340s are now kind of old-fashioned, while the H500 is essentially the evolved version of the S340s yet is still less complex than the H700!  

NZXT S340, S340 Elite, H500, and H700 if you stretch a bit, are all good 'versatile' cases with plenty of cable management routing and are all relatively simple to get around for a beginner.
All but the S340 have tempered glass which is a bonus.

Screen tearing only occurs when the system can send more information than the monitor/TV is able to handle, such as your PC generating 300FPS when you have a 60Hz monitor wihout G-Sync or FreeSync.
This doesn't happen with consoles due to the locked framerate.
