I am really hoping that I've just applied too thin a coat of lube on my Sakurios because the Tealios are noticeably more smooth than my new Sakurios and it's annoying me so much.

I might genuinely go ahead and add more lube to some switches to see if it might just be a bad lubing job, otherwise the Tealios really are just the smoother switch and I've essentially paid $70 for switches that are lighter, softer, and yet more scratchier than the Tealios...

Do I prefer the Tealios, which are heavier, harsher on the bottom-out, but significantly smoother, or do I prefer the Sakurios, which are lighter, softer on the bottom out, but also a tad more scratchy even when lubed? We'll give new these switches some time.

Would it be possible to make a franken switch and get the best of both worlds?

It might be the sticking issue many people including krel from switchmod had from the early Healios batches, they're more subdued in the later batches but are still present. There's something weird with gateron silent stems and many of them have a weird sticky feel.

@Cyberspirit No, because the Tealios is smooth because of its stem and the Sakurios has the soft bottom out because of its stem and the silencing rubber.

@b emoji Well fuck, am I out of luck on this one? I can feel it now even as I type this.

@sowon break it in for a week, you should always break in your switches for a bit before lubing, I usually break mine in for about a month. Spring swap them, springs can have a huge impact on switches, especially linears, order some good springs form TX or Spirt (zeal springs are pretty bad), GON and Catweewee springs are also pretty nice but are not really in stock. Lube them with something else, try a thin coat of 205G0. You can also try MX Zilents (Cherry mx silent red/black stem in Zealpc housing) which have less travel and more mush compared to Zeals but some people swear by them.

@b emoji Did you mean before lubing or after lubing? Of course I'll give my Sakurios a few days to fully adjust, I just felt a little thrown off since I used my lubed Tealios from the beginning and had never used them unlubed. I lubed the top and bottom of the springs of the Sakurios with Krytox 205g0 already. If no fruits comes from the Sakurios, at least I can harvest the 62g springs from them to use with my Tealios.

I actually bought 20 Zeal 65g Zilents to try, but I've not gone round to that yet, only tried them unlubed in my tester so far. They feel like softer and silenced Zealios.

@sowon it's good practice to break in your switches before lubing.

@sowon Do the sakurios that came from the keychain feel better when lubed than the new ones you got? If they do, then, you might actually have to break them in before you lube them like b emoji said.

Different switches altogether @Cyberspirit. Varmilo EC Sakura vs Zeal Sakurios. Even then, I've probably only pressed the Varmilo Sakura about 7 times.

Oh sorry, thought they were the same. Nvm then. ?
