  1. GTA5, RDR2, FORZA, WRC, FIFA, BG3 mostly but i'd love to try out more any suggestions? totally agree with you that's the reason I've been thinking about the whole thing but the difficulty in selling the laptop is really killing the mood right now. the second-hand market is really bad where I am from, might have to go to Delhi (4 hours away) where the market is much better but also fierce
  2. i do have power backup at home, so it is a nice to have and not a necessity. Also, UPSs are not that expensive. you see how I'm completely confused.
  3. Budget (including currency): INR 80K Country: INDIA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GTA5, RDR2, FORZA, WRC, FIFA, BG3 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I understand there can be certain biases but I would like some genuine suggestions. I currently own an Asus Zephyrus GA502DU (Ryzen 3750H, GTX 1660ti 6GB Max-Q, 16 GB DDR4, 512+512 nvme SSD) and an I5 2nd gen PC as a NAS with a couple of drives. My daily use laptop is a M1 Macbook Air (8/256). I am trying to get more into gaming in my free time, I have mostly only played Forza/WRC/F1 and GTA V/RDR2. I have a budget of about INR 50K (USD 600) plus about 30-35K that I can MAYBE get by selling my laptop. The laptop serves me well for all that I need to do for work, it is actually more than enough and runs games like RDR2 at decent settings at 1080p (not playing to upgrade the display anytime soon). I am torn between two options, get something like a PS5 or Xbox Series X and keep my current stuff or hopefully sell this at a decent price and get a whole new PC. I just want to highlight that selling a gaming laptop, especially in my town is EXTREMELY difficult, and getting a decent price is gonna be a challenge and might even take months. I really love the fact that the laptop basically has a built-in UPS in case of power cuts which are not infrequent. For about INR 80K, I'll be able to get Ryzen 5 (maybe Ryzen 7), RX6750XT
  4. the answer is mild pain in shoulders :,) need a new chair asap
  5. yeahhhh, can't do much to expand it, without blocking the door or breaking the cupboard lol. mouse pad is elite, excuse me
  6. A little detail: Keychron V6 Knob Edition Red Switches (3 days old) Logitech M331 Quite Switches Asus GA 502 DU, GTX 1660Ti 6 GB VRAM with 16 GB System RAM, R7 3750H, 2x 512GB SSD, no webcam, Noctua thermal paste (things get hot India, especially with 3-year-old OEM paste) M1 Macbook Air Speaker: JBL Trip, AirPods Pro, and wired Apple Earphones LG UltraGear 1080p display (2 weeks old lol) Some cheap monitor arm Captain Marvel Tea Coaster stuck on the side wall (with suction ofc) iPhone SE with a $5 charging stand. Xbox controller Custom mousepad (my voter ID form, don't worry there is personal info, just instructions to fill it, that too in Hindi lol) My girlfriend asked me why did make a hole in the wall, I told her for cable and she said "you sure love putting things in holes" i was stunned Any suggestions for future additions are much appreciated.
  7. I have been using an RPI 3n for about 2 years for my home Plex server (obv only for direct play) and it has been serving me well, but I recently salvaged an old PC from a family friend and it is time to deploy a proper NAS. SPECS are i5-2400 (with stock cooler), 8GB DDR3 RAM, 2x500GB Seagate drives (both salvaged from random places), and no dGPU. i have some experience with Linux and CLI, I was looking into TrueNAS( open to suggestions/recommendations) but I want to use it mainly as a Plex Server hopefully with Sonarr/Bazarr (or anything else that you guys feel is good for a newbie). thanks in advance :)
  8. i have a feeling it needs a repasting, and care guy is just gonna replace the motherboard lol
  9. i had the exact same thought, so i opened it up and cleaned it. so now the fans are completely clean. i talked to the customer care person and he said it might be a motherboard issue. Hopefully i can get that replaced in time since my warranty ends next month
  10. I have a year old Asus ROG Zephryus GA502-DU (Ryzen 7-3750h and GTX 1660ti 6GB) and recently is has begun to run extremely hot under seemingly no load. While charging (60%) i was attending my online class and had a couple youtube tabs open (nothing playing) and laptop set on silent profile but still CPU temps rose to 80-85 C and GPU (at 0% utilisation) was at 65 C. It is on a flat desk with with enough room on each side to provide ample airflow. Task manager showed 10% CPU load and 6gb ram but nothing else. Disconnecting charger helps drop the temperature but i don't see any problems with battery life otherwise so i don't think so it is a battery issue.
  11. Is it possible to use a RTX 2060 to upscale 1080p movies on windows 10? Just the way Nvidia Shield upscales. I can't find anything of help online.
  12. Budget (including currency): $1000 (100,000 INR due to taxes) Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Plex 4k Transcoding not more than 1 stream at a time and mostly watching movies in house. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Currently I have 1 SSD (120GB for boot) and 7 HDDs (25-30TB of storage almost all in use) and I intend to keep all of those, I am using them as mass storage and would use them as Plex libraries in future as well. My computer is connected to my primary Movie watching display (Samsung 4K LED 65") I want something that is powerful enough to to transcode movies to so that when my home theater (same house but different floor) is complete I can shift the PC there but still be able to enjoy movies in full quality on my TV. Any suggestions are appreciated, LMK if it is possible to stream movies from PC to Android TV without transcoding (in 4K). Might never use the machine for gaming so that is not a focus point.
  13. I downloaded MSI afterburner to check that, and yes that was the problem. My laptop was pushing 100FPS but was also crossing 85C on GPU, hence thermal throttling. I capped my GTA V at 48 FPS and GPU is at 65-70C range. Thank you so much.
  14. just itunes, logitech options and discord. that shouldn't be too much. certainly not enough to bring the FPS down to below 10.
  15. temps are around 80 degrees under load, i don't think so that heating is an issue. I've an identical laptop (bought that 2 weeks ago) and temps sometimes hit 90 on that machine but it never throttles down.
