  1. For the build that I am planning, I have been looking at the Corsair Carbide 400q. However, I'm worried about clearance issues as I'd like to use the noctua nh-d15s for my cpu cooler. Will this case have enough clearance? Or are there any other dampened cases that might be good alternatives? I took a pass on the Corsair 330R because the storage drive bays are located at the front instead of a second fan.
  2. So I guess I should further clarify that I would like to get the best possible rig for around $2000; Id rather spend closer to my mark than save a few hundred dollars and drop performance. I did look at the current suggestions and while I do know I want to go with the intel cpu, I did change around the RAM (after doing some latency calculations) which shaved off a good $50-$60 bucks. I also changed it from a 1tb ssd to a 250 and then added a 2tb hdd. From what I've seen the noctua nh-d15/15s is the best bang for your buck in terms of cooling, but I am afraid of the clearance with the case. I love the idea of the sound dampening so if there are other options with more space I'd love ideas. Small form-factor is a no go for me because I don't want to deal with cramped hardware, cable management and the problem of worse thermals. 3. Well, it's a budget that is a heck of a lot less than many work stations you can buy. This range plus a large drawing tablet is still way more bang for your buck than getting a surface studio. *edit: I read that wrong due to haste. Lol. I guess my thought process behind the RAM was that the latency was much lower than other higher frequency RAM.
  4. So I'm planning out a PC that is intended to be a relatively affordable workstation, for an artist who plans on mainly working with adobe creative cloud along with other 'painting' programs (krita, correl, etc), which may also be used for some playtime lol. The parts I've picked out are: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Tsnell/saved/w4b3FT My preferred budget is somewhere around $2000 USD, as I'd like to either be able to get it with a nice drawing tablet or a very nice color accurate monitor (around $1000 USD - recommendations would be welcome for that as well) With this current build I have planned, I also wanted the machine to be as quiet and discrete as possible without making too many compromises on the thermals. Before I make a purchase I would love to know if I've overlooked any potential problems or if I could optimize this system more. Thank you all in advance!
