  1. Hi I'm a final year A-Levels student figuring out when to buy either an iPad Air or iPad Pro either before or after I graduate. With COVID-19 affected release times, the recent iPads have been released at unusual dates. I have a few questions here in order.... 1. Do I wait until October for any newer generation iPads? (Are there going to be any new iPads? 2. Which iPad is better... for a student writing notes, doing design and daily use? 3. Will the newer iPads if any, have Apple's new silicone chips? I do have a laptop (Dell G3 3590, I7-9750H, 12GB RAM, 1660Ti) which I use daily but would rather have something more compact and efficient. I have the budget for a complete set with an iPad Air but if the iPad Pro is a better investment (A12Z vs A14?) I can go find some work if needed. Also.... yes I am going for Education pricing to save some money.
  2. I'll be updating this post as I have bought the eDP cable and the 144hz AUO B156HAN08.0 screen. Bought from Taobao.
  3. So I've been looking for a new monitor panel to upgrade to from my base 60hz monitor on my Dell G3 3590. I know that these display panels require either 30 pin or 40 pin eDP cables. However the models I have only found are below with their respective links. BOE NV156FHM-N4B BOE NV156FHM-N4K BOE NV173FHM-NY1 AUO B156HAN08.0 Here is what I need help with to be straightforward. What other models of display could I use? Is it better to use a 40 pin eDP cable? I would like to stick to my own 30 pin eDP cable but the motherboard has a 40 pin eDP cable that outputs to a 30 pin eDP cable. Where should I buy it? (I'm currently in Hong Kong) If you're going to ask why I'm replacing it. It's because the monitor has been a drag for over a year playing esports titles with it. Also having a i7 9750H and a 1660Ti really doesnt let the laptop stretch its legs. Also because Dell made a flaw with the laptop screen hinge. Since the output of the heat is directly below the monitor where the screen hinge is.... the hinge screws tend to deform or fall off completely over time. Especially when they only put in 3 out of 5 screws. So I thought waiting for Dell to replace the hinge would make it a prime time to replace the monitor.
  4. Hi LTT forum :), I am trying to find a good pair of headphones around $100 dollar price mark with a few requirements. Linus made a $25 dollar round up but some people probably look for mid-range. - good audio quality (if audiophile level then that would be nice) - a good mic - comfortable for daily use the selections I came up with Cooler Master MH752 Logitech G Pro X Steel-series Arctis 1 or 3 as for anybody who wants to know why I am getting these. - earphones have been overused and i'm not quite comfortable with the ear tips in 8 hours a day due to my work - my favourite headphones were the z11 turtle beach for solely gaming but i'm looking for altenatives.
  5. I'm trying to figure out the best recording settings for editing in Premier Pro and uploading to Youtube as my current test uploads have a lot of artefacts in them. Going for high quality and preferably good colors. My current settings:
  6. Not sure about this. Usually this would be tested on another computer as a blackout on a bad PSU paired computer would mean the motherboard is fried. If the fans are spinning its good. if you boot and there is a flashing light. Look at the beeping sequence and search for the manual online. Troubleshoot from there.
  7. Just tweak settings within the game. Try following videos online to optimise Modern Warfare. You also have to understand that the game is poorly optimised at the moment. I run a laptop spec i7-9750H, 1660Ti with 8GB ram at 2666mhz and i can run most maps at high at 1080p with fps above 100.

    GT-1030

By all means I would say no. You would need 300w PSU as Nvidea's site says so and judging from my experience since I still use a GT 1030 in a optiplex system as a storage server. Tried it with a 180w and it fried so by all means just follow what the Nvidea site says or the box that the GT 1030 comes in.
  9. Check if your keyboard is stuck on scroll lock. Then if you can, go to device manager and reinstall the driver.
  10. Ah there isn't really any reason you should not pick the RTX 2060. I would recommend it over the GTX 1660Ti but its entirely up to your budget.
  11. Consider Dell options (G3) and some local retailers. If you dont mind ordering from overseas from retailers such as https://www.level51pc.co https://www.illegear.com Also check out https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2Rzju32yQPkQ7oIhmeuLwg for more laptop reviews as his reviews are quite in-depth and address your worries to laptop thermals and storage space.
  12. To further simplify your worries. Just follow the following steps. Press Windows key + R type msconfig Hit Enter Select the boot tab Select advanced options Uncheck Number processors Click OK Click Apply then OK Restart when prompted If this doesnt help then it should fix it self. Usually task manager doesn't show its cores due to its boot processes.
  13. May I know approximately where you are from or what region as I can then refer you to laptops or custom laptops made in that region?
  14. Yea I'm running on a laptop though . I was thinking of an external software but thats pretty far out there.
  15. Hmm it seems weird as well as that up time seems weird. Could you do a favour and go into device manager and find out your cores? I know you said you had four cores but I'm just confirming if Windows knows that there are 4 cores.
  16. I am having problems with my audio settings due to my windows set audio settings since I am using earphones not headphones. Its frustrating as OBS does not capture other audio devices as well even when set to maximum. I am trying to figure out a way to max out my windows volume but putting the output volume to earphones to the same (15/100). Is this possible or is there alternative way?
  17. Ill look into this ill look into it ill borrow a raspberry pi from my school and try it but a more professional solution would do.
  18. Its one TV for display in the lobby of the boarding house. Unfortunately there's no way to use the built in web browser of the samsung tv even tho its a smart tv. its just unreliable. a lot of visits are made to the house so its looked at a lot

  20. Could you make sure the molex adapters are not running on the same line? There are seperate lines for 12V and other voltages which could be heavily affecting your GPU. The CPU (65W) + GPU (185W) + other components ( extreme RGB worst case sceneario ) [30W] means that your usage is usually under 250 W or so even under long periods of gaming. When it crashes can you check if there's a mother board light that's generally blue? This light usually means that the system doesnt have the required power and has entered power saving mode. Which also means that the PSU is .... fried. Come back to me when this doesnt help or it helps. If it doesn't help I could get you back on track as it helps narrow my understanding of whats going on in that poor rig.
  21. Okay first of all, this sounds like a bit of cortana's issue and bloatware and maybe you got random apps starting up when you launch your computer. here's your homework 1. Update Windows 2. Delete any apps you dont need 3. Go to task manager, go to startup, disable any you dont think you need
  22. lmfao, ryan_vickers is right. I've had 4 laptops and dont even think about getting a core i3. The thing throttles and is so bottle necked by the 4GB of ram. I used to have an ASUS x202e and it was terrible. Constant lag, couldn't even hold 6 chrome tabs and skyping was stuttering. If you want a guideline, then here it is At least a Core i5 At least a MX 250 ( i recommend GTX 1650 ) At least a hybrid drive (SHDD) At least 8GB of ram and in all honestly i would never get a laptop under $500. Paying around $1000 is the best option, trust me its worth it. I run on a Core i7-9750H + 1660Ti + 8GB of ram + 512gb PCIE NvME ssd and its so smooth.
  23. The situation here is that I live in a boarding school where I'm seen as a bit of a tech geek. My boarding house master requested me to find a way to display things such as everyday school notices, sports notices and just photos from events that have taken in the past. I'm a bit stumped as I only found way to do this and it's using google's chromecast to go to google photos and just do it from there. The requirements are that its reasonably priced, easy to do, has either online storage or large local storage. if you wanna know the reason for this post, its because we got tired of updating stuff on the usb thumbdrive as we have to take it out of the tv and on a laptop and then back on the tv. it really is a hassle when we have to do this daily.
  24. I would recommend the 580 for the extra vram but get the newer nvidea generation cards with the nvenc cores (1660Ti or 1660 or 2060) and you wouldnt even have to bother about used up vram as the nvenc cores take care of video editing, photo editing and casual gaming ( apex high 1080p -60fps)(csgo medium 200fps)(minecraft -high 1080p no mods, 100fps, survival with server running) (rainbow six +80fps 1080p high) I used adobe premier even on the maxq version and streamed on it and it was hella fine. helps if youre running on at least an hybrid drive for editing and ssd for gaming.

    Laptop Screen

Also its the fact that I've never used a 144hz monitor but mainly use a 75hz monitor. At some esports games I have used 240 hz but havent really adjusted to it.
