  1. Not quite sure a cloned drive is the solution here since you obviously have a larger issue. Not quite sure what is meant by the OS dying but here's a tutorial for what you want to do.
  2. You could use the boot menu. According to a google search the Asus TUF boot menu key is F8. So hit F8 instead of your BIOS key (F2?). It'll give you a list of bootable drives and you just choose whichever you want. Edit: This does not change the boot order. It just boots into the drive you choose once and then the priority drive next restart.
  3. I can't check this for myself since Windows can't track my network card for some reason but just set the limit to 1mb and check what happens when it reaches the limit. I would assume it just blocks it. Proper answer below
  4. I ended up playing around with it a bit more. It seemed weird. I don't quite know what the problem was. I was using HWMonitor to monitor everything and it was displaying the 1.3V. I ended up just restarting a couple times and changing the multiplier back and forth leaving the vcore on auto. And for some reason it actually started working with lower temps. P95 now maxes out at 4.4ghz (I'm not experienced when it comes to overclock, it's the first time I do anything manual at all, might have to do with the AVX scaling or w/e it's called) P95 at 4.4Ghz maxes at high 80s now. Also tried some Cinebench runs, after 10ish runs CPU was sitting at high 70s - low 80s @4.7Ghz. I started using HWInfo to monitor instead and it showed max vcore as 1.27V. TLDR: Not sure what the problem was but it somehow started working more like expected. Thanks for the help.
  5. I'll try keeping it short. CPU: i7 8700k Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 I used to have an MSI Z370 A Pro. I used the enhanced boost feature that got all cores to the max boost frequency which is 4.7Ghz. I now have an EVGA Z370 Classified K paired with the exact same CPU and cooler, I can't find an enhanced boost feature to save my life so I just set the CPU multiplier to 47 and left everything else at auto/stock, I checked using HWMonitor and max vcore was 1.305. I ran prime95 and the temps instantly spiked to 100C. It NEVER got above 85 with the MSI board running the enhanced boost. I tried reseating the cooler so that shouldn't be the problem, disabling the overclock brings all cores to below 70 running the same small fft test.
  6. I'm gonna have to ask the guy that rents this place out or one of the guys that live here because he seems to be the one handling all of the IT stuff. It's not actually a dorm just a house that the owner is renting out to 4 students. Thanks for the answer anyways
  7. I recently moved into a new place and started studying at a University. The place has some really nice internet speeds. When checking the network speed through the adapter settings in the Windows Control Panel the connection shows up as 1gbps which is great. Once I test the connection through speedtest.net I get the typical 100mbps test which is just 2-5% below 100mbps. I've tried running directly from the modem to the PC and from the router to the PC but still the same results. I'm using a Cat 6 cable and my mobo is the MSI Z370-A Pro. The mobo runs this network controller http://bit.ly/2LKrIfX Thanks for any help because I sure could use it.
  8. @TheAgndaI am using VLC to play the files and in VLC you can choose to play the audio in Stereo mode which fixed the problem.
  9. I'm using VLC to play the files Just tried playing it as stereo sound and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the help and sorry it took so long to answer.
  10. To keep this short. I downloaded some m2ts movie files and want to play them back. Video works fine. Audio works fine for a minute or 2 and then the character voices phase out and you can barely hear them while the effects audio is still going full blast. The audio format is DTS-HD. I'm no audio expert but it says that it's DTS-HD 6.1 Audio. My question is, Can my hardware be the problem with these playback issues or is something else the problem. I'm using a pair of ATH-M50X plugged into the front port of my PC and the mobo is the MSI Z370-A Pro. Any help is appreciated.
