    OneDrive

Hey guys, I have two OneDrive Accounts: one Privat and one from my school. Everything was working fine, but lately I graduated the school and my school Microsoft account was deleted. Now I have the OneDrive in my Explorer but can't delete it. Windows always says, that it is unable to the deleted account and will only let me delete it, if I am signed in, which is not possible, since the account is deleted. Any ideas how to trick Windows to make it work? I would like to keep my private OneDrive if possible. Thomas
  2. You will probably be fine without coolers, because in normal use the SSDs sit at idle most of the time. The power consumption of SSDs is not that high too. Additionaly the coolers by Thermal Grizzly will probably not fit and would not make much of a difference, since in the Laptop is not much airflow.
  3. Hi Guys, I am building a NAS and want to use OMV, because I have some experience with it. Additionally to doing NAS things, the PC should be able to play Netflix / Disney+ and (if possible) and run OpenVPN. The PC is a Asrock J5040-itx, so a X86-Intel machine with 8Gb of RAM. I am looking for an OS to run all this, possibly without VMs if not necessary. I thought of a Debian-Distro since OMV is based on Debain and I have a bit of experience with Debian (Raspbian), but I am not married to it. I have already looked into Linux Mint Debian Edition, but I am open for recommendations. Thanks Thomas
  4. @EscapementDog Thank you! This seems to be very interesting, but also kind of limiting (upgrades in capacity or software)
  5. @PineyCreek Thanks for the suggestion. I do not have a specific budget, but the Nas should not be as cheap as possible without big sacrifices. A new four-bay Raid-capable enclosure cost about 260€. The System I planned would cost around 160€, because I already have an old case and power supply. Additionally I like the idea of something self build.
  6. Hey Guys, I want to build a little NAS for archiving files like Office and Pictures. I already have three used Drives, which I plan to operate in Raid 5. My biggest Problem is that Electricity is pretty expensive here in Germany at around 0,33€/kWh (0,40USD/kWh) and therefore a old Computer would be pretty expensive to run and the cost for something new and more efficient makes sense really quickly. I already searched the Internet and found the Asrock J5040-ITX, a Itx-Board with an Intel Pentium Silver J5040. I plan to put in 8Gb of SO-Dimm Memory. Would this be fast enough for a basic NAS? I maybe want to use Plex in the future but it is not a must-have at the moment. For the OS I want to use OMV, because I already have some experience with it, but I am not completly married to it. Addvice would be nice Already Thanks for every Comment Thomas
  7. Budget (including currency): 800€ (1000€ max) Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming like Valorant and CS:GO in 1080p at 144hz Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9gygfP Hey Guys, I am building a PC for a friend. He is upgrading from a shitty "Gaming"- Laptop and wants more performance. I already made a list on PcPartPicker and would like to have somebody to look over it. My friend already bought a used "Sapphire Vapor X r9 280x", but plans on maybe upgrading to a 3060 or similar in the future. He has not settled on a case yet. Mouse is not needed and the keyboard should be the "Sharkoon Skiller Mech SGK3" (coundn't find it in PcPartPicker). In Germany the Total would be around 820€ (without the GPU) with some money accounted for a basic case. Are there any improvements? Cheers Thomas (sorry for bad English)
  8. Thanks to all of you for your support! Today I found out that the Microsoft Store installed a game onto the C: Drive instead of my E: Drive. The Installation was probably not finished and therefore it identified itself as unknown. I deinstalled it and now everything is fine! Thomas
  9. Thanks to both of you. @manikyath: The cleaning only found a few megabytes. @Eigenvektor: HDGraph found about 95Gb of "unknown data" Any suggestions what I can do now? Thomas
  10. Hey guys, I wanted to install a new Program, but it said, that there is not enough storage. I wonderd, because I switched to a nwe SSD recently and did not install much yet. So I looked up and Windows reported that only 11,4Gb are left. This cannot be true. So I marked all folders in the Partition (including the hidden ones) and clicked on Properties. There Windows reports that only about 30Gb are used. I did a cleaning of the drive and restarted multiple times, but nothing changed. How is this possible? Can somebody help me? I am from Germany so sorry for bad English. When something should be translated, then let me know. Thomas
  11. Hey guys, I recently upgraded my HDD + SSD setup with a new single NVMe SSD. (Rest of the system: Ryzen 5 1400, RX 580, 24Gb of RAM (16Gb Kit + old 8Gb Kit on 2133Mhz) It is not the newest or most powerful, but it is enough for me). I installed everything completely new and only copied some Pictures and similar stuff from the old HDD. Now I have the problem that my games crash, freeze or even do not start. I haven't experienced this before. I already done 2 DDUs but they did not helped much. Since the second one, I am experiencing freezes after a random time (most around 15 Minutes (no crashes) and Minecraft does not want to start. The error-codes of bsod before the second DDU were many different ones, but what I found out, they could all be caused by driver issues. While doing the second DDU I also reinstalled the Chipset driver and reinstalled all drivers with the AMD automatic installer. Do you have any suggestions what I could do next? I do not what to reinstall Windows, but as a last option it would be worth it. Thanks already for your attention Thomas (from Germany)
  12. Thanks so far. I also looked at Parsec (@Lesantir_12), but I think it first sents the stream to their servers, introducing unnecessary delay (I want to stream in the same network). I will have look into AMD Link (@Chris Loudon)
  13. Hey, I want to stream my games from my PC to my tablet and if possible to my Raspberry Pi 4. I have tried "Steam in home streaming" , but I am not satisfied. I also noticed, that this only uses 50Mbit maximum. Is there a way to use the full one gigabit I have at home to get a better image? (i have an amd rx580, so the nVidia specific ones will not work)
  14. The other day I saw a esp32 with camera-module on ebay. They have WiFi and a SD-Card-Slot. I would like to see a video about those, because they are just around 10$ and sometimes you only need a very basic ip-camera. (https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Esp32+cam&_trksid=p2380057.m4084.l1312&_sacat=0) Greece from Germany Grüße aus Deutschland
  15. Thanks for that suggestion, I will look into that...
  16. Heyho Guys, I want to setup a Minecraft Server and it should be as cheap as possible. It will not need much power, because I am only planning on running vanilla Java for about 4 people max. I currently live in Germany so Servers in America or similar are not my first choice. I have found this site, where I can rent a virtual Linux server (1 vcore and 1 GB of RAM) for only 1,99€ (it is the XS-variant) a month (https://www.webtropia.com/vserver/vserver-linux-mieten/vergleich.html should be self explainable, but I can translate if needed). My question is, if this is enough resource for my need. I am a little bit concerned, because of the performance of this single core, does anybody have experience with such servers? (sorry for bad English)
  17. I would like to see a review of the iiyama - G-Master GB3461WQSU-B1 (Red Eagle) At least in Germany (where I am from) this is by far the cheapest UWQHD, IPS, 144Hz Monitor on the market.
  18. I would really like to see a Review about the new Nexdock Touch (coming out at the End of August), maybe also in combination with Parsec's Android App to connect to the power of a tower on the go. A Round-up of good 2-in-1 Notebooks and Tablets for electronic drawing would also be nice.
  19. Hello guys, I threw together a NAS and it works perfectly, but i do not want to keep it running all the time. Is it possible to trigger Wake on Lan when I want to access it through the Windows Explorer? Thanks
  20. OK, thanks. I will think about that
  21. For the start I thought about two one terabyte drives in Raid 1
  22. Hey guys, I want a Nas and thought about building one myself. A friend has a amd a10 9700 (don't ask why...) and I have 8gb of DDR4 laying around. So I thought of buying a cheap a320 board, throwing some hdds in loading FreeNAS on it. Is that a good idea? On the page of FreeNAS it says, that FreeNAS benefits from Intel processors. Is that just marketing, from a time of amd struggling with single-core-performance or still relevant? The Nas should only be for one person and mostly for pictures and office files. I hope, that this explains my situation Thomas
