  1. I'm looking to add an access point into my garage to get better wifi signal but don't want to run ethernet cable from my house to my garage, some advice on what to do would be awesome.
  2. Okay, so instead of having a ssd just use the m.2 and hdd for SMR and storage?
  3. So i want to set up a storage system for my PC that uses a 500gb m.2 ssd as a boot drive, a 1tb m.2 nvme (already have) as a cache drive, and 4-10tb hard drive as my main storage. Is there any issues or improvements with this setup? Also i need suggestions for what hard drive to use. My budget is about 400$ USD if any changes are suggested.
  4. I forgot to add that and yeah I think I'm out of luck on this ine
  5. So I've been scavenging the internet looking for a NZXT H1 case and I havent had any luck, so basically I'm just putting out feelers to see if anyone has spotted one for sale from a retailer in the USA.
  6. Stardew valley with a friend and generally nothing too power hungry, dont plan on playing Escape From Tarkov or Stellaris on it since that might break something
  7. I'm in the market for a laptop for general use and light to medium gaming. I have a budget of $750 USD and what I'm looking for is 13.5"+ screen size, battery life isnt as important, FHD IPS panel is preferred but mainly a FHD panel, touchscreen with stylus support is also preferred but not very important. Currently I've been looking into a refurb Surface Book with the performance base but I'd like something newer with a little more power for if I need it.
  8. Started using Grafana as a multi monitoring tool for my system and couldnt really understand their dashboard building setup and was wondering if anyone build a dashboard that is clean and simple.
  9. @joshfrog fixed it and got it working
  10. Still a newer build didnt lose anything really important just time
  11. Oops well looks like I'm installing a fresh copy of windows
  12. @joshfrog So umm I horribly screwed something up and now my pc cant find my host OS great...
  13. @joshfrog Okay so far i have partitioned a section of my 1TB drive to a smaller 100GB partition just for the Ubuntu system to keep filles from getting jumbled is that a good idea?
  14. @joshfrog I am using Windows 10 Home
  15. Currently running Windows 10 on my PC and I have been wanting to figure out how to run both Windows and Ubuntu at the same time with either both OS displaying at the same time on one monitor or having the ability to quick swap between both OS. I want to learn how to run Ubuntu more then I already do and i don't want to cannibalize my system and lose most of it's usability just to expand my knowledge by a small amount.
  16. The only increase I saw in task manager was in CPU usage when I shutdown the load tester from task manager itself and a diagnostic service: diagnostic policy service and I dont know what that is. It increased from 21-24% to 30-31% and memory stayed at 22%.
  17. At the 30 minute mark temps are min: 39C max: 56C avg: 52C so no changes so I'd rule out thermal throttling also I found out that Comodo blocked my autorestart batch file from running so my computer wasnt getting its daily restart like I wanted it to.
  18. @Spotty while running the thermal test under synthetic load supplied by Real Temp's load tester at 100% running for 15 minutes temp ranges are min: 39C max: 56C avg: 52C. I have Comodo set for daily quick scans and weekly full scans, and there is nothing shown since the last scan yesterday. On task manager its showing CPU in the 20-24% usage range and memory is sitting at 22%. The only thing using an abnormally large amount of memory is ASUS Aura lighting service at 226MB. The largest amount of CPU usage is from the load tester at 9.8-10% usage.
  19. Also is okay if i just use HWINFO64 instead of both AIDA64 and HWINFO64 I just want to deal with the hasssle of dealing with AIDA64's trial stuff.
  20. @Spotty I am using the corsair hydro h115i pro for my cooler which my system sits in a thermal take p5 case which is an open air case. I'll have to install the monitoring software tomorrow because i have work tomorrow afternoon and i am currently using Comodo as my antivirus and malware program.
  21. @jimkirk363 I don't think that's the issue do to the drive having over 30GB of storage left
  22. So i built a new system roughly about two months ago using high-end hardware and suddenly it seems to get bogged down, unless it is restarted after its been left on for more then four hours and i don't know why. My old system never had issues like this so i don't know how to troubleshoot it accordingly. Windows 10 64-bit BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrend Inc. 0612, 3/01/2018 SMBIOS Version: 3.0 CPU: I7 8700K Coffee Lake 6-core GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GTX1080 RAM: 32GB 4x8 G.SKILL TridentZ 3000Mhz RGB MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix Z-370E Storage: Kingston 120GB SSD 1TB Western Digital HDD PSU: Seasonic PRIME Ultra 850W Titanium 80+
  23. On their website they only show the two colors, but honestly that would be a bad move on Samsung's part to lock those two colors since not everyone likes weird colors. Personally I'd rather have black or copper.
  24. I havent seen a list but from what other sources say midnight black and copper are region locked I just dont know if that pre-order only or permanent @Crunchy Dragon
  25. I saw they had 4 colors available for the Note 9 blue, lavender, midnight black, and copper but from what I read online colors are subjected to a region lock @Crunchy Dragon
