Title explains it, currently have a 1070ti and looking to upgrade to a 3080 considering price drop, its not putting any of the other components in danger I'd be happy yo buy the 3080 now and upgrade the psu later. Vonsidering the performance jump I won't need to overlook the gpu for a while and my 5900x is undervolted per core using ryzen master. Tldr: Will a evga 650w psu damage any components if paired with a 5900x undervolted and Asus tuf 3080?

Can you elaborate please, the card I'm looking at is on Amazon for $799. I like Amazon's return policy and next day shipping, where else do you recommend I look and is this price ok?

Looking in ebay and I'm seeing 3070s some for $700 some for $400 and just saw a GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 3070 for $291.30. Should we be weary? Are these scams or are the prices really that good with the crypto crash and new 4000 series that's about to come out?

Auros x470 gaming wifi 5, i have ryzen 2700x available, was upgrading to a 5900x when this started happening, had 2 successfully boots into windows with the 5900x then the next day started having this issue. Bios version was like f30 then updated bios to get to f60 I believe which supports zen 3. Gpu 1070ti

Hello, so my pc wont start and fans won't spinup with the cpu latched down in the socket, I have ram and the gpu disconectd for troubleshooting purposes, I tried 2 cpus have a 3rd I could try but wondering if the cpu socket is toast? Any recommendations on what to do? Currently going to try and use the 2 cpus in the other pc I have and see if they are toast but all the pins look perfect

Have a x470 gaming wifi 5 , upgraded from 2700x to 5900x , updated the bios everything worked went to bed and the next day the pc wouldn't start. Have tried a lot of trouble shooting took the graphics card out and it would start but not post. Next day it's acting dead again, tested another psu that I know works and motherboard still no response. Took cpu out to swap and then the board will power on and all fans spin without the cpu! Cleaned both cpus very carefully, saw some thermal paste residue on socket so cleaned it with alcohol. Any tips as what to do? OK thank you!, what about the idea of virtualizeing the pc to split it into running two windows, allowing for splitscreen allowing one gpu to handle one virtualized space and the other another space where a less demanding task would be happening?

Why not a 3070 and a 5800x, I feel like people over estimate the need for the highest speced stuff, you could upgrade both cpu and gpu for near the price of the 3080

Currently have a 1070ti and think I want to upgrade, which will leave me with an extra 1070ti, I work with photoshop, blender, 3dcoat, zbrush and more. Mainly want to upgrade cpu (to5800x) and gpufor better viewport workflow, I also play games every now and them. So would I be able to use the 1070 in the 8x pcie slot and get anybenefits from it in the 3d programs? I was also planning on using the old cpu to start a NAS and was thinking the 1070 would be overkill to keep in it

I did some research on Flac files and this is what i found here and here , and not knowing what song id like that would even be available in Flac made me to decide ill keep it in mind and maybe just try it later. I listen to Indie Pop, Pop Punk, Math Rock, Angst?, synth Wave , acoustic versions of songs and soundtracks. Im more looking for a end game i guess really good audio setup that will last me a while and not so much looking to do it as a full on hobby right now. I checked out reviews for the Little Dot MkII but was worried the extra accomadations that would come with that might not be worth it for me right now and some people say the difference between the little dot and Magni are hard to distinguish. I received the Magni Heresy today and set it up today, first i tried using this meathod But even switching the magni to high gain i still wanted a little more volume headroom, so i now have it setup so that the magni is running through the headphone jack on the focusrite essentially double amping it. Im wondering how bad this is to do for audio quality. Using the meathod in the photo with the gain switch turned off the magni was actually slightly quieter than the focusrite. I might consider a headphone in the future with different characteristics but for now this setup will do and ill make the most of it! any more input you have on double amping is greatly appreciated thanks again for taking your time to reply!

Hello i just received my MassDrop hd6xx today and they are great! i just want to make sure im squeezing as much juice out of them as possible considering im willing to spend a little more money to make that possible. I currently have a focusrite 2i2 2nd gen and so far the music i listen to sounds loud enough with volume on the focusrite maxed out and volume set in windows to 90-98 Im wondering if i would benefited more from an AMP or a new DAC and then an later in the futre AMP The amp im considering is the Schiit Magni Heresy but if i would benfit somehow from a better dac should i get that first? i would probrably go with a schiit dac and just make a schiit stack im also using Peace EQ to adjust the listening experience and i have the prevent clipping option selected so im wondering if an amp would allow me to change the eq more and prevent clipping less while i could use the amp to maintain volume. Any input is greatly appreciated!!!!

So is this 50ohm 5w how do you know its 5w? i called a local hobby store and they said they have 5 w ones, also said that some of them were like 50k 5w if you are able to shed any light on what the k means. and last question i have is do you think this once resistor could really cause this big of a problem? Allowing the amp to barley power on but have nothing else work? I do apologize if I'm an idiot but I'm learning

Hello, I have this old guitar Amp that powers on but nothing works, I cracked it open and everything looks good except this resistor that says cb5 10ohm 10% and has corrosion around it. My question is can I just un solder this and throw a new one on? And what do I need to look up to find the correct replacement. Any help is much appreciated!

Hello, I'm looking into building a NAS considering how much data i store and use, my current setup consists of two SSDs , a 4tb Seagate in which crystal disk info says health is low, and a 8 tb wd external drive that I backup to . So id like to make a NAS starting with around 8-12TB in a raid array for actual safe keeping of my storage, so my question is if i start a NAS in a raid array which raid should i shoot for considering i want to add more storage down the line? If you have any input on or suggestions on making a nas feel free to chime in! I was thinking of making it in a Fractal Design Node 304 Mini ITX Tower but if im planning to make it expandable i might go with a bigger case

ill look into that, sorry again for bad questions lol but is ddrescue good for backing up or repairing? it looks roadkils copier is working well so i might just let that finish then use ddrescue to do repairs on the drive afterwords? and i cant restore the backup because i had made it months ago and like an idiot i deleted the old backup to make room for a new one and when i went to back it up i found out the drive had this problem and so now im here with 4tbs of my data on a failing drive with no backup lol

So one of my data drives is getting Caution on crystal disk info YAY! and i need to back it up but cant backup with Paragon so i need to just copy everything before i try to repair it further. So i came across This ForumI which someone suggests this program Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier and i have it running right now. Looks like its doing what it says it does, currently have 522GB out of 4tbs copied, 201279 files copied with no corrupt or skipped files yet. So anyone know about this program? Is it any good? Or would it be better to terminate the process and use something else. of course accouple hours after running the program i come across This form on toms HARDWARE where the guy contacts Acronis and i guess you can make a disk image and skip the bad sectors. TLDR Is Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier good? Is Acronis good at backing up a drive with bad sectors? Which would you use in this situation?
