  1. Helllo i just bought the lLG 27UK600 , its 4k 8 bit(frc 10bit) and have it now sitting next to my acer g257hu . the problem is the acer looks brighter , i had this same problem with the asus mg279q and even sent the asus mg279q back because it looked horrible next to the acer which is half the cost. So now im wondering if im just used to a screen that is too bright and these other monitors im using are bright enough. im planning on getting a color calibrator and calibrating both screens but im just curious what you guys think. also the hdr effect on the lg looks the brightest but blows out the highlights on non hdr videos and photos so im wondering if theres any way to use that setting and adjust it with software... idk THANKS!
  2. Hello just looking for some opinions before I pull the trigger and buy the LG 27UL650-W 27 for $400 from Amazon. I need a color accurate monitor for content creation which is what I spend most of my time doing. I play games every now and then and tried out the asus mg279q 1440p 144hz monitor but it wasn't bright enough and costs $525 so I sent it back. Now I'm thi oh g about getting this monitor recommended from rtings https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best/by-usage/photo-editing-graphic-design . It has freesync to which is cool! I was thinking about getting the asus pb278q and the benq GW2765HT but I the lg is a lot more exciting and a better choice? https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/7a3eac106 Thanks for reading! What are your thoughts?
  3. Correct , thanks for the advice! I was mainly worried about the sticks not bebeibebeinbebeibebeing compatible and not being able to boot or something, but I'd just need to match the speeds in the bios. Would i set them to the same speed or take the cas# into account and match them that way. Also would it matter where the 3rd ram is installed or should i just check my mb manual.
  4. Do you mean get a single 16bg and add it to the two 8gbs I already have In there? Giving me 32gbs and throttling the faster 8gbs to match the 16gb?
  5. Thanks for the input! Is it alright if the CAS is different? And is there any noticeable difference between the two speeds or is it really no big deal?
  6. Hello, I currently have two 8gb sticks and have been getting bottlenecked when rendering with 3d applications and multitasking so I wanted to add more ram and was thinking I add a 16gb stick to give me 8gb+8gb+16gb=32gb... and then in the future add a second 16gb stick giving me a total of 8gb+8gb+16gb+16gb=48gb But for now I just want to add 16gb. I currently have these ddr4-3000 cas 16 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PBPKHx/team-t-force-delta-rgb-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3000-memory-tf3d416g3000hc16cdc01 I wanted to add this ddr4-2400 cas 15 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/NhqhP6/team-t-force-delta-rgb-16gb-1-x-16gb-ddr4-2400-memory-tf3d416g2400hc15b01 I have an aorus x470 gaming wifi 5 Would this work or is it all around a bad idea? I could also just buy the same 2 8gbs again to get me to 32gbs but then upgrading in the future wowould be harder. What are yourthoughts? Thanks!

    Color Accurate 2k 144hz

okay thank you for the help! Just had a chat with amazon and im getting a refund. would you recomend a replacement or should i spend a little more for the ASUS ROG Swift PG279QZ

    Color Accurate 2k 144hz

i haven't used a color calibrating tool like a spyder on it but iv'e tried many configurations suggested by sites that have used a color calibrator. the weird thing is they suggest putting the monitor at %30 brightness but even at 100% brightness it isn't bright enough but it should match my acer at 350 cd/m² max brightness.

    Color Accurate 2k 144hz

Ended up getting the mg279q but unfortunately im going to have to send it back. the screen just doesn't look bright or vivid enough especially sitting next to my acer which is half the price. The 144hz is amazing but i cant stand the inaccurate colors and lack of brightness

    Asus mg279q 1440p 144hz ips bad color :/

thanks for the info! the monitor just doesn't look bright at all even at %100 and calibration sites are saying they have it calibrated at %30 brightness which makes no sense to me even in a fully dark room. The whites dont look very white or bright and i have an ips 1/2 the cost next to it and its colors are more vivid and bright. I think ill have to return it and get a new asus pb278q or a used PG279Q for $422 , what are your thoughts? and how drastic is the difference between the pg279q and the mg278q , would the pg279q be suitable for content creation?

    Asus mg279q 1440p 144hz ips bad color :/

I got it because my computer regularly pushes more than 110 or more frames and wanted a good color accurate ips to go with it. i game casually and a 144hz monitor really makes a difference in making a smoother more enjoyable experience. I don't need a 144hz monitor i wanted one but i need a color accurate monitor which this was supposed to be.
  12. Just received the asus mg279q and the 144hz really surprised me on how well it feels , but the color compared to my Acer g257hu which is half the price makes the Asus look really bad. It has the same specs as the acer but doesn't look as bright or good. So I was thinking about swapping it with the asus PB278Q but the specs are almost the exact same with the pb278q being 60hs pls ips https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/4c54a7412 . But it would be ashamed to swap it for a 60hz monitor if the color quality would be the same . If anyone has seen these side by side please give me some advice!
  13. hello, appreciate all the info from everyone currently have a Acer - G257HU-https://pcpartpicker.com/product/D7hj4D/acer-monitor-umkg7aa002 but i want a slightly bigger 27" with more accurate colors. i also play games and considered getting a 144hz monitor but decided i would use the money to upgrade my ram and get a non ips 144hz monitor in the future. looking for suggestions for the best 27'' 1440p ips monitor for around $350 give or take. also a couple of questions: 1.is a hdr ips display better / more accurate and a non hdr 2. i have a nividia card and at the price im looking at i could get a 60hz monitor will g-sync help in any way? 3.this monitor is $350 144hz 1440p ips but can the color accuracy be trusted on it? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/b8VD4D/acer-vg271u-pbmiipx-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-vg271u-pbmiipx 4.when looking for a good color accurate monitor what specs do i look for/at? Thanks!

    Acer - VG271U 1440p 144hz 27" ips for $360?

Thanks for all the info everyone. i do content creation and the monitor is mainly for that and secondary for games. I've been hearing everyone say its night and day going from 60hz to 144hz back to 60hz. i currently have a acer G257HU 25" https://pcpartpicker.com/product/D7hj4D/acer-monitor-umkg7aa002 but it doesn't have good enough color accuracy. I also have a gtx 1070 TI.
  15. Looking for a color accurate 144hz 1440x2560 ips monitor and this one comes up in pc part picker for $360 compared to its competitors at $400-600. Can't find any videos reviewing it... wondering if or has good color accuracy and looking for a good review https://pcpartpicker.com/product/b8VD4D/acer-vg271u-pbmiipx-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-vg271u-pbmiipx These are the other contenders, which would you go with? https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/overall-list/#r=256001440&D=120000,240000&P=2&X=0,57716&sort=-rating
