Look at sites that actually tests the different solutions instead of just listing features.
Personally I trust AV-test https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/ and AV-Comparatives https://www.av-comparatives.org/tests/real-world-protection-test-august-2018-factsheet/
I'm running Bitdefender because I've mixed environment with both Windows and OS X but if you're only running Windows it looks like Avira, McAffee and Kaspersky is good alternatives at the moment. With that said Windows Defender is decent and included with Windows.
