onionring got a reaction from Geekazoid in [CAN]LG 23MP75HM 23" Slim IPS LED Monitor - $169.00
you read review from independant sites like tftcentral, etc.
what younkerman meant is that if you can t see ghosting with a "slow" panel, there is no reason what so ever to get a "faster" one, you wont see any difference.
in that case your better off going for better colors than speed you don t see.
(talking response time here...)

onionring got a reaction from Geekazoid in [CAN]LG 23MP75HM 23" Slim IPS LED Monitor - $169.00
you know that the rated response time of a panel is totally meaningless, just like the dynamic contrast ratio, right?every manufacturer calculates it differently so they can t be compared.
a panel rated at 1 ms could ghost while one rated at 10ms could totally be fine.
btw normal panels refresh at 60 fps or once every 17ms for comparaison...

onionring reacted to TheSLSAMG in Nvidia releases new SLI bridges - Looks Nice
That's a lot of money, not that it would go with my build colors.
Apparently, if you shoot an email over to OriginPC, they would give you one for $5 and shipping.

Not true for single player games: If I can opt out of stupid crap like this it's fine but when online servers and such are involved then yes there's always drama

Yes, but the Nexus 10 has the same resolution and it's 1'' difference.

onionring got a reaction from TheSLSAMG in [CA] nixeus vue 1440p monitor 349$ shipped from NCIX
IDK if it count as a hot deal but that s a A grade(not A+) 1440p panel with a warranty shipped from a known retailer for the price of ebay Korean ones.
http://m.ncix.com/products/sku/90949/1286
i read somewhere the input lag on this one isn t that great(about as much as a tv) but i m not shure.
it also has a portrait capable stand.

onionring got a reaction from Builder in More Galaxy smartphones?
If you would have read my post, you would have realised that s exactly what i meant, there is no need to upgrade every year since the performance improvements are now minuscule,
it isn t like Lawlz said and phones doubling performance each gen.
Btw, if you re comparing 2 phones from the same brand, it s safe to assume that they re cheating about equally so comparing them relatively is totally fine. (but absolutely with other phones isnt)
My nexus 4 idles at 800mb ram used, so yes more than 1gb has its advantages (but 2gb ram phones existed for years now so idk why you wouldn t want it)
The iphone 5 A6 wasnt the fastest Cpu available at the time it s all i said.
Apple chose it for battery concerns , they could have went with something faster (but there was no point).
This was only said to reinforce the there s no point to upgrade every year since phone performance doesn t improve much any more since the iphone 5 with the a6 totally works fine.

onionring got a reaction from hamzahimself in Major Chromecast update
Just a note, this update might not update automatically depending on your region.
You can load the apk manually no matter where you re from tho If you find it (and it s very easy)
(You have to enable non official app security setting even if it s google that made it)
I just installed and i m in canada btw.

onionring got a reaction from Sharp_3yE in Mystery NVIDIA graphics card?
it s a production sample, putting more power connectors(even if they re not needed) cost nothing compared to the cost of the tests they ll do to the card. So they re better to overbuild part of the card to eliminate variables.

onionring got a reaction from LukaP in Project Ara beta testers get modular phone for free
my needs in phones is kinda weird(not rly but i m not the most representative customer) so ara makes sense.
i need a decent ish processor, nothing fancy, a 720p screen to conserve battery , don t need a camera,
and the biggest battery ever.
i don t mind a 1in thick phone if it meant more battery life...
no manufacturer in their right mind would design a phone for me but if i could...
