  1. my i5-2500 windows 7/10 and it is 80w idle; 120 on light load (working) and 200-250-300w on heavy loads (Gaming) does the work with no problems and no were near 50% load ... I have an AMD A10 windows 8 laptop (SUCKS), 9w idle 16-20w on load I don't game that much anymore, and really the i5 is not 100% mine, my old AMD Athlon 64x2 2.41GHz Dual core (2005) build died so have been using someone's i5 and it getting hotter and hotter here so AC has to run longer = more $ on electric bill, Laptop + AC is around 100-110watts less then desktop and the desktop is not in the room with the AC :-/
  2. my i5-2500 does perform great but I really want less power, I can get a laptop i7-5500u for $1k http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-5500U-vs-Intel-Core-i5-2500 i7-560 u for 1.5k http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-5600U-vs-Intel-Core-i5-2500 http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-5600U-vs-Intel-Core-i7-5500U
  3. Thanks for them 2 builds, but looking for way less power, unless you guy really think i Need an i5... power savings from 2nd gen to 4th gen i5 >35% ( from http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4690K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-2500K ) i7-4790k uses the same power of i5-4690k from http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-2500K and are there any good laptops in the world ?
  4. It may be cheaper up front but use more power and I am really into image quality, Cheaper the monitor the more power it uses and has crappy image quality ... (I am a sucker for image quality, drives me crazzy ) I am using a 1440x900 and 1080p now, that 1440p uses the little more power, my 1080p was $180, i could get another but I don't have a lot of space. I was looking at ultra wide HD (3440 x 1440) but that x2 the price ... but it also uses the same power as 1440p ... I will still use my i5 for gaming I am looking for lower power for work, mainly because I got a AC last year and summer is coming ... .. .
  5. I am looking for a new office PC, last PC i build was back in 2011 with a i5-2500 All I do are spreed sheets, I don't need a High end i7 .... .. . I want something that uses little power and get the job done, I HATE laptops I have had many bad ones in my life (all laptops in my life have made me MAD) Here is a AMD A10, $1,500usd+ Cooler OverKill but I don't like buying cheap crap ... http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=27292506 Intel i3's use like half the power then that A10 but its only dual cores and can an i3 handle 1440p spreed sheets? $1,500 for i3+ Cooler http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=23250931 + ~ $80 for i5 I am willing to Try a laptop again, I hear Dell's are good, any one know how good the xps-15's are? any Ideas on other brands/models ? I am also willing to wait for New APUs from AMD and Intel to come out, they shouldn't be that far away ...
  6. RAID 10 In terms of performance it is similar to RAID 0+1. I believe, 0+1 has superior fault tolerance and rebuild performance over 10.
  7. any one made/using RAID 0+1 ? if so how is it? and how hard is it to set up RAID 0+1 ? if you don't know RAID 0+1 it's a mirrored (RAID 1) array whose segments are striped (RAID 0) arrays. RAID 0+1 configuration combines the security of RAID 1 with an extra performance boost from the RAID 0.
  8. My favourite thing about the G3 is the Camera, @ 7:29 I am using a Pantech Crossover with 3.0 MP; G3's camera looks awesome ! And all i do is txt/call and wifi only anyways I don't have internet "Data" on my plan :=(
