  1. Loved the opening of the video, very nicely put together. The device looks brilliant, displaying an image of that size and quality with such a short throw is extremely hard to believe.
  2. I noticed the hidden .tmp.drivedownload folder a few days ago. This post on the Google Drive product forum has an explanation from a Google Employee... https://productforums.google.com/d/msg/drive/DrmQYgzHgsg/Wto4SiQuDgAJ For reference the comment is quoted below, in summary don't delete the folder...
  3. Based on the demo below the video feed from the camera appears to just hover next to one of the controllers, not taking over your whole vision. It doesn't look like it'd break immersion or be too jarring, especially if you are triggering it by pressing a button on the controller. I assume (or hope) it'd be placed in a static position for keyboard/mouse driven games and triggered by a keyboard shortcut. Seems useful to have a drink, find your controller, or check your phone (although I read the Vive has built in bluetooth / SMS support anyways...!?). I wasn't able to find any video of someone picking up a glass and drinking with the headset on.
  4. I went for the HTC Vive. It seemed like the best complete package with the controllers, wider tracking area and built in camera. I've had a DK2 for a year and a half and it's seen very limited use. Mainly due to application support, I've spent more hours trying to get demos and games running correctly than I have using the device. I haven't used it all for many months now but hopefully this issue has gone away or will with the consumer devices. I haven't tried the Vive Pre yet, should get the chance at the end of this month.

  6. I've recently started using my Logitech G930's again after moving to a wired setup (ATH-M50x + ModMic v4). I still use the wired setup for gaming but I've taken to using the G930's primarily for work conference calls. Being able to pop into the kitchen and make a cup of tea whilst on a 3 hour conference call is a must. One of the features I love about the G930's is the mute indicator light on the end of the mic boom. You can just see it out of the corner of your eye telling you straight away if you're muted. Wearing a gaming headset for work calls is a bit unnecessary, but that light has been a lifesaver at times! It isn't a feature you see on every headset, glad to see it's included in the new editions. Looking forward to a full review, I'll be very tempted to purchase the G933's, dependent on the UK pricing that is.
  7. Great to see the goal has been reached. International shipping is a bit steep but worth it in this case, shirt ordered
  8. Are "instant" email notifications for new videos available on Vessel? If not do you plan on putting something in place yourself? Even if it's something we can subscribe to until Vessel gets the functionality. Thanks in advance, my other questions all were answered in previous posts

  10. I normally default to Amazon, I'm signed up to prime and have to get my moneys worth with free next day deliveries. My second choice is always Overclockers, their site is great for browsing and their customer service is great. Years ago I used to spend a lot of money with dabs, haven't used them for a while now.
  11. I noticed the same error occurring on my PC (64-bit Win 7 Ultimate) earlier today. I snapped a quick photo of the error message and searched online to try and find the culprit. It's certainly related to those windows updates but there were mentions of NVIDIA Geforce Experience and Silverlight as well. I haven't tested uninstalling Silverlight, but I did a few tests with NVIDIA Geforce Experience and it appears it's the culprit for me. Ending the NvBackend.exe process before shutdown (or logoff) prevented the error from occurring on my machine. Ending the NvBackend.exe process and restarting Geforce Experience with administrator privileges also prevented the error (until next shutdown / logoff). This at least satisfied my concerns for it being anything too malicious or one of my own scripts gone awry. Hopefully it'll get resolved with a NVIDIA or Windows update soon.
  12. Decent built in speakers and a good looking screen, all bundled up with "girl next door good looks"!
  13. Thanks Linus! Love these episodes, although they do normally coincide with some mass spending!
  14. Not the answer to your question.. but some time ago there was rumors that the YouTube Android application would allow audio playback in the background. So you could turn the screen off and still listen to the audio whilst going about your business. That'd be perfect for listening to the WAN show playback, still it doesn't appear to have come to fruition.
  15. The screen on the G3 looks amazing wrapped in those thin bezels!
