I could recommend NordVPN: many servers, good speeds, and reliable connection. Also, zero log policy which is really important. Of course, there are alternatives like PIA, Surfshark VPN, Goose VPN. Be sure to check them out. Also don't use free VPNs, because most of them aren't secure (you can read more here for example).

Yes, it is. PIA isn't bad either, though call me tin-foil wearing lunatic if you want, I don't like the US jurisdiction of it. That's why I keep using NordVPN because it is based in Panama. You can try the free 7-day trial if you want here. Another VPN that looks quite good is Mullvad.

It shouldn't, coolers are engineered in a certain way so they wouldn't do that.

DeLorian got a reaction from Amazonsucks in Apple urges Australian government not to weaken encryption with backdoors
Wow, this is really stupid. Providing access to the police is one thing, even though I don't agree with it, but it opens up the potential exploits for hackers and other abusers. I wonder if certain apps will have their 'Australian' version with these 'features'. I'm glad that I'm not in Australia and with my NordVPN for encryption.

But you know, I'm wondering one thing: if the law enforcement really wants, they will get what they want. NSA at least. I'm thinking about Tails OS maybe.

DeLorian got a reaction from iGx.Itachi in Best VPN for simple access to region locked services??
Well, with free VPNs you become the product most of the time, because who knows what they do with your data, gotta make profits somehow. Furthermore, Netflix aggressively blocks VPNs. I use NordVPN and if servers get blocked I just contact the support for a list of the working ones. So far so good. While I would like a free alternative, it most likely won't happen. Meanwhile, there are deals online like this, 60 bucks for a year isn't that bad. You can always try the free 3-day trial version and see for yourself. Or try other VPNs and see which do you like the most.

DeLorian got a reaction from Hip in Is Stocktrading via VPN safe?
Most stock trading is safe, though extra security measures, like NordVPN, won't hurt. If you choose a server near you there shouldn't be any noticeable increased lag. If you are on a public network then definitely get a VPN.

DeLorian reacted to LAwLz in What sort of information can an email and digital certificates reveal?
In most cases, for example when someone just sends an email through gmail or outlook in the online interface, this is what the recipient can collect:

Your email address (although this field can be modified by the sender and is therefore not trustworthy). The recipients email address (as in, their own email address) The content of the mail. Which mail server delivered the mail (that is to say, if you sent it from gmail then they can see that the gmail server delivered it). When the mail was sent (although this field can be modified by the sender and is therefore not trustworthy). When the mail was received.
    Your ISP can see:
That you connected to a gmail server. When you connected to it. Your public IP address. (Note, not your local IP, not your MAC, or any other type of address. Just the public IP which is most likely the same for all computers on your network). How much data was transferred, but not what data. Roughly when you stopped browsing gmail.
Your email provider can potentially see:
Your email address (to the email provider, this field is verified and trusted). The recipients email address. The content of the mail. When the mail was sent (to the email provider, this field is somewhat trusted since they can see when the email was sent to them). Your IP address Anything which can be collected through your browser. This includes things like browser version, OS version, language settings, and a few other things (although these are not trusted since they can be modified by the user)

It depends on how you use the certificate.
If it's from some specific program then they might have a way of tracking various installs. But if it's just a webpage where you input it then no, in most cases they will not be able to tell if you used your laptop or desktop.
It's not impossible, but it requires some additional info which they most likely don't have access to. For example if you use Chrome on your laptop and Firefox on your desktop and they know that, they can make an educated guess that you're on your laptop if they see that you're connecting with Chrome.

DeLorian reacted to LogicalDrm in Core Temps Vs RealTemp - Which app is more accurate?
CoreTemp. You can't have such low minimum temps, not unless your room temp is at 15C. I would also recommend using 3rd app to check, like HWiNFO64. Its also worth to note that RealTemp hasn't been updated after 2012, while CoreTemp's latest update is from this May. Back in Ivy Bridge and Haswell RealTemp tended to be better.

But wait, there’s more. I’ve stumbled upon an article while browsing reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/privacytoolsIO/comments/9d8szc/the_dark_side_of_the_vpn_industry_is_the_current/) and allegedly there are more companies involved in this smear-fest. Disappointing, but not surprising in my opinion. I wonder what other shady tactics we don’t see. And not just about the VPN industry, about everything in general.

Guys I didn't want to mislead you since I watching this story,  here are some updates since the main article in this reddit feed was deleted, so if you still curious what happened I found out that everything moved here https://vpnpro.com/blog/confusion-in-the-vpn-industry-is-nordvpn-being-defamed/ probably trolls attacked previous publisher or something.

The general rule of thumb is that you should avoid free VPNs (there are some examples here). Stick with premium services like NordVPN, PIA, BolehVPN or Surfshark VPN and be safe and secure. If the product is free then you are the fuel, there ain't many exceptions to that.

When it comes to VPN's its best to choose one that is not bassed in a Country that is part of the 5,9,or 14 eyes alliance, thus it will be free from government and law interventions.

This means anything bassed in America is techincaly a no go, same goes for the UK.

FYI NordVPN is Panama bassed, which is not a member of the above alliances.
ExpressVPN is another good one bassed in the British Virgin Islands outside the above alliances juristiction.

IMO i wouldnt go with PIA, they are US bassed.
Tunnel Bear is Canada bassed , they a 5 Eyes alliance member so again i wouldnt go with them.
