  1. Budget (including currency): +/-1500 Country: Belgium Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi, I'm looking to upgrade to a new PC. Currently, I have bought 3 things. - MSI GTX 3080 12GB - Fractal case - 750 PSU At first, I thought of staying at Intel but I remember that AMD had a good CPU for work programs, I don't know if that's still the case. So now I don't know if I should go with Intel or AMD. I have attached a list of what I'm thinking of buying. This list is currently with DDR5. I always keep my PC for 5/6 years so I don't know if I should now upgrade to DDR5 or stay at 4. If anyone has better suggestions for AMD's intel, please let me know why one of those 2 companies, and if I should stay at DDR4 or move on to DDR5. I use my PC more for work than for video games. i edit in Premiere Pro and do color grading in Resolve
  2. Budget (including currency): Country: belgium Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: storing video files Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi, I wanted to build a budget nas, but with the electricy pice over here, that isn't a good idea. So i was looking for a DAS instead NAS, but then i thought about an idea. Because i have some sata ports free in my workstation, can i add hdd drives and run them in raid 5? is it a good idea to do it in the workstation instead of buying a DAS enclosure and add drives there?
  3. thank you, i will try it tomorrow (i live in europe)
  4. do you know a tutorial or a link i can follow instructions? i don't know much about linux and unbuntu programs to be able to do by my self
  5. well the drive is not fast and its a 6k file so it stutter, but other than that, everything is fine. I tried to import some of the files in to premiere and i didn't get an error
  6. Hi, the weekend i filmed 2 music video clips. the first one i filmed, i transferred the files from my SSD to the hard drive because i film on the ssd. When i got back home, the files i transferred on to the hard drive i wanted to back it up, but i got in an issue were i can't get most of the files off the hard drive. The hard drive is exFat, i don't know why i formatted it to exFat but its exFat. I am able to see the thumbnails and play the videos when i try to get the files off the hardrive 1: its tranfers at really slow speeds (see attached picture) 2: after a while it stops and give me that MS-DOS error (see attached picture) I have tried to optimize the hard drive, doesn't help. checked for error, windows says that there is error i have added the "copyfilebufferedsynchonousIO" i tried using resolve clone tool, but it stops after a while all have let me to nowhere, so does anyone knows what i can do to get all the files off the drive? now i'm transfering 1 by 1 to see which files i can get off the drive.
  7. what i mean is - I restart the pc - saying its powering off - it power off, monitor turn black - it power back on, the monitor stays black and after minutes of waiting there is no windows logo or windows blue screen, just a black screen and hearing that the pc is still on that's it. So each time, i have to long press on the power button to shut it off and press again to start the pc and then it will continue running like there was nothing wrong. Now that the resetting is almost done, i don't think that it's a software issue, because the restarting problem is still happening.
  8. i know that also work, but i don't want to do that every time i want to shut down the pc, i'm now resetting the pc but it doesnt want to restart
  9. I'm using Windows 10 GTX 1060 6GB Intel i5 2.8gh coffee lake 32GB ram B360-A PRO (MSI) LG Ultra HD (monitor) samsung 1tb 970 EVO (windows 10 and other software are on this nvme)
  10. Hi, Today i had problems with premiere exporting some file. After hours of trying to get premiere export my timeline, it crashed an i had to restart the pc. When i was restarting the pc, the pc screen was black but after minutes i didn't get to see the windows logo, so it never rebooted. I eventually shut it down by long press on the power button. When i restart it, in premiere i notice that i couldn't hear the audio, it was playing in premiere because i could see the meter going up, but nothing was coming out of the pc. checked in youtube, same thing, played a song from a file on the computer same thing, no audio coming out. So try to do a windows troubleshoot. What i saw was that, audio output was selected to my pc screen "hdmi output' but i couldn't have "hdmi' because i'm connected with "displayport" so don't know why the "hdmi". I troubleshoot it and told the bot that i couldn't hear anything. it wanted to restart the pc, i did that but then again, pc didn't restart. Again did the long press to shut and and restart manually. I try to shut down the pc, but that also didn't worked, the pc screen is off but the cpu fan is still running, the light at the power button is still on, you can hear the pc still being on, but the screen is off 'black screen'. does anyone know what just happened? i can't restart, i can't shut down, i don't get any audio. i have so much work to do, can someone please help me out?
  11. Hi, I wanted to ask if I Should upgrade my cpu? I was thinking to only add extra ram but if it's better to upgrade the cpu and keep it for 4/5 years then i would rather upgrade the cpu than to add only extra ram. i know that upgrading the cpu i will have to change mobo and ram. I mostly use my pc to edit video's whe i have time i play some games, GEAR 5 and City skylines. i'm open for intel or AMD CPU: i5-8400 2.8ghz coffee lake Mobo: B360-A-PRO (MS-7B22) RAM: DDR4 16GB GRAPHIC CARD: GTX 1060 6 GB
  12. Hi What does RMA means? and how do i know which motherboard natively support 8th gen cpu?
