  1. I am pretty sure it happened after a windows update actually
  2. I'd say it's pretty random. I do always have chrome open though. I usually notice it when watching YT video's on full-screen. Then again, I could only notice them then because I'm staring at my screen...
  3. As the title says, recently out of nowhere a CMD screen will pop-up and then disappear even quicker. How can I find out what this is and resolve it? Edit: Running Windows 10 by the way
  4. I am slowly picking the parts of my first custom PC build, Right now I have selected the i5-8600K as CPU and I will probably go for the GTX 1080 (once the prices hopefully go down) as GPU. As far as RAM goes, I'm pretty sure that a good brand and the right type of connection/slots will work together and I will be placing 2 x 8GB of RAM. But I'm kind of stumped on what motherboard I should get, I don't really know what to look for and to what I should be paying attention etc. etc.. What are the general tips for selecting a motherboard? What are good brands? Any recommendations? Anything would be more than appreciated!
  5. ATM I play at 1080p on a GTX 1050Ti. Runs pretty smooth on AAA games, but playing on a 60Hz monitor right now, so I don't know how the rate will be above 60FPS
  6. So I realize that this has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere on the internet. I am planning to get a 144Hz monitor as a second display (to make it my main display), But a lot of the monitors I find have Free-sync. I found out that free-sync works with AMD and G-sync works with Nvidia, Sadly, here in the Netherlands at least, G-sync monitors are almost twice the price of a free-sync/no sync 144Hz monitor. My question here is can I buy a free-sync monitor and fully enjoy the 144Hz monitor whilst running an Nvidia GPU. Also, would it really be worth to save up another 150-200EUR to get a G-sync monitor?
  7. Currently have a 60Hz monitor so i cap it at 61 and it never goes below that, still need to buy the 144Hz monitor
  8. I get that the max FPS of the monitor is 144 and that should be my cap when games can run at 144FPS on my PC. However, for example BF4 will sometimes shoot up to 144FPS but won't be stable at this rate, so should I cap my FPS at a lower rate than 144 to max the overall game play smoother?? How do I find out what rate to cap it at?
  9. Great. Do you know average thickness of a network cable? 6mm or 10mm?
  10. Moving my computer to the back of the house, which is pretty much as far from the router as you can get. Planning on getting a 30 meter long cable for a cabled connecting instead of wireless. Will such big length slow my connection down or temper with it in any way?
  11. Wow, you're quick! I was planning on selling my old PC once I build my new one, won't that be very hard without storage/RAM/GPU? If I can't sell, what should I otherwise do with it? Also: Don't I need to buy Wifi/sound hardware?
  12. Some time ago, I decided, after a long time of having no desktop around, that I would get into PC-gaming again. Me, being the noob that I was, looked more at the relatively decent price (so I could get the PC and game ASAP), instead of diving in deeper to find out what I needed etc.. Right now I am very happy with the desktop, but performance-wise it isn't quiet what I'm looking for. At this moment I can play AAA games like BF4 and The Witcher 3 at no higher than 60FPS on minimal settings. Seeing as I might start streaming/making video's later, and want more performance, I need to upgrade my build. My choice is to save up enough to actually build my own PC instead of upgrading this pre-built one, because it is very hard to upgrade and very limited. My current specs are: CPU: Intel i5-7400 @ 3GHz (3.5GHz)RAM: 8GB DDR4-SDRAMGPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 TiMemory: 1TB HDD & 500GB SSD ---------------------- So now for my future plans, I want to assemble a high-end gaming PC, I just have no idea what to actually buy or look for. I also don't really have any idea what amount this would cost and I've never built any PC before. To make everything run smoother, I copied the questions from the sticky: Location The Netherlands Budget The main reason I'm posting this thread is to find out what kind of budget I should be working towards. But I guess my main aim would be around 1500EUR Aim As stated above, I want to use it for high-end gaming on relatively good graphics, whilst still getting a smooth FPS rather Monitors I plan on buying a second monitor first (seeing as my current runs at 60Hz). So at least 2 x 1080p monitors, 1 at 60Hz & 1 at 144Hz Peripherals If I were to build my own PC I would need to buy the OS separately I guess, Any other peripherals I already have in my possesion Why are you upgrading? As stated above, my current pre-built gaming-PC is decent, but not exactly what I am looking for, I want higher graphics at a higher frame rate, perhaps with a bit of streaming/video-editing (but those are potential plans) ---------------------- What tips can you give me? Are there any standard builds out the to use as a "hold-on" whilst building my own? Also any tips for beginning PC-builders are always welcome. Thanks in advance!
  13. So I'm trying to download the Witcher 3 and it's taking forever, It started out at 2MB/s and now it won't go any high that 0.5MB/s Even when I have no other applications running in the background. In the Task manager I noticed that my send rate is around 100Kbp/s and receive 4.8MB/s, Could this be the reason why my download is going so slow? I have a very stable internet connection, The router is right behind me and I have full bars, Recently I was able to download a different game at well over 3.5MB/s Anything that I can do? Note: Also, why is my receiving speed close to 5MB/s and the actual download speed only 0.5MB/s?
  14. So you mean to say that my PSU will support an GTX1060, including all other hardware?
