  1. Hello I recently had a laptop die. I tried transferring the drive from the old laptop to my new one, but Jeep getting an error about Intel Rapid storage UEFI driver having an error. After some research, I figured out this was because the old drive (blue) has an Optane module built in. The old laptop is completely unresponsive, so there is no way for me to turn optane off. I can fully access the old drive from an external dock, read and write. Cloning the drives with Linux’s dd command from a live flash drive did not solve the issue either. Any ideas?
  2. Heyo I want to have a full cover monoblock for an X570 board similar to that of the X570 Aqua (no longer available btw), but the waterblock doesn't exist. Is there some place that I could go to have them make a custom waterblock?
  3. It’s a diy desk pc, mostly for gaming. I’m currently running a laptop with a 3550h, so just about anything is an upgrade.
  4. So, here’s my dilemma. I know how to pick out parts and whatnot, but the issue I have is with water cooling. The build I want to do is a hardline build for around 2000 usd, with roughly 1000 usd on water cooling parts. I could go for a ryzen 5 so I can upgrade later, but then the water cooling wouldn’t be doing much. The other option I was thinking was getting a secondhand 7940x for roughly the same price (I was going to get a high end b550 board, so difference in mobo price is negligible) TLDR, do I go modern so I can upgrade later, or old for more performance now along with the ability to flex my cpu?
  5. Just as the title says. These things are like $20 on eBay, and it'd be nice to have the extra horses for rendering. I know that Resolve can take advantage of two GPUs from the same company (AMD/Nvidia), but just want to make sure that Resolve can take advantage of a Tesla, since they're not exactly mainstream.
  6. Yes. The thing that I really want help with is installing Resolve on the RasPi. Since it's ARM based, I'm not sure if it will work. Ubuntu now has an official distro for the Pi, but I don't know if I can just install the regular Ubuntu version on the ARM based Pi.
  7. I plan on using my already existing cluster of 6 pi’s. Also, time isn’t really the consideration here. All I’m rendering are small YouTube videos at 1080p 60, that are tops like 15 minutes.
  8. The idea is for me to use the full power of my laptop at all times. For example, being able to play games, or edit another video.
  9. Hey I was wondering if I could use a Raspberry Pi 4 as a renderer for Davinci Resolve. Rendering takes a while on my laptop (3550h, gtx 1650) and I want to be able to use my PC while its rendering, but want to be able to use my full computing power while it is rendering. Is there a way to render my videos on the Pi? I could work with it set up as just a rendering server or just straight up installing resolve on it.
  10. Hi I wanted to set up a SteamCache with some old hard drives in raid cuz gotta go fast :). Anyway, I was hoping there would be a way for the server to download updates even when my gaming PC hasn't requested them. EX: I'm away on vacation for a week with my computer shut down. That way, when I boot up again, the updates are uber fast. Is this possible? Thanks!!
  11. Similar to how optane works. It caches the most accessed data, so that it's faster. I'm probably just going to get a m.2 ssd anyway, since RAID increases the chance of data loss signifigantly and it's more expensive.
