  1. So, turns out I am a complete moron. While moving it I guess the graphics card damaged the pcie slot that it was in. This morning I had the bright idea to try putting the graphics card in a different slot. It booted up fine. Really should have though of it sooner. I'm a complete simpleton, thank you guys for the suggestions and help! Sorry to waste your guys time.
  2. I probably should have mentioned it, but yeah, I moved the PC from one building to another. The PC was packed up fairly well, so that the PC wasn't touching the edges of the box, it wasn't dropped or anything. Probably would have been helpful for you guys to know. Anyway, I have tried removing and reseating the RAM, removing the GPU, unplugging any USB devices, unplugging SATA connections, checking all of the internal connections, and I just attempted to reset the BIOS/CMOS, which did nothing. I cannot see any burnt/damaged parts on the motherboard.
  3. Thank you guys for the suggestions, but do you know if there is any way to definitively tell if my motherboard or cpu is dead without a spare motherboard or cpu? I do believe I have a warranty for both parts, but I need to know which one is broken for sure. Thanks!
  4. So my PC died for no reason and I can't figure out what's wrong with it. When I turn it on the fans spin at full speed and that's it. There is no display on my monitor. None of my peripherals light up. The only thing that happens is the cpu and case fans spin at full speed. I'm not necessarily sure what could be wrong, and I have no way to figure it out 100% because I don't have any spare PC components to test out what works and what doesn't. I have reseated the ram, taken out the graphics card, checked all of the internal connections, and unplugged the computer storage, but nothing I've done has had any affect, the computer just sits there with the fans spinning. I think that it could be the motherboard, but as I stated above I have no way to test that out. Any help would be appreciated, thank you! PC specs: Ryzen 5 2600 Asus prime x470 pro motherboard Zotac mini 2060 super Evga supernova 650 watt Corsair vengeance ddr4-3000 (not running at 3000 Mhz) Crucial MX500 500 gb ssd
  5. I'm in the US, however, the case I was attempting to buy is only available from NZXT (which has $15 for shipping) or from best buy. Apparently Best Buy won't ship to me or to any of their stores near me. So to avoid a bunch of hassle I'm just looking around for a new case.
  6. So, I've been searching around for a case that about $50-$70, but the only thing I found that I actually like is the nzxt h500, however I cannot get it shipped to where I live for some reason or the other. So I'm looking for something different. I'm considering the phanteks p400, it has that sort of sleek, modern-ish look that I'm trying to find. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  7. Thank you for the advice. I know this might sound silly, but I may or may not have wanted nvidia simply so I could see minecraft with ray tracing... Other than that, the only issue I necessarily have with the 5700 is the fact that it has just a single fan, so could possibly mean worse temps on the 5700? Also, from what I've seen, the 2060 preforms really well in games, but how much of a performance boost would there be if I got a 5700, 2060 super, or 2070 in more general programs (photoshop, krita, etc.)
  8. I'm wondering what the best of these three cards for their prices are. From what I've seen the 2060 super is at (or close to) the 2070's level of performance, however, it is just slightly cheaper than the 2070. So would it be worth it to just get a 2070 rather than a 2060 or 2060 super? Looking at some benchmarks for the 2060 super vs 2070 and the 2060 super vs 2060 it would appear that the 2060 super would be the best card for the price, maybe? What are your guy's thoughts on this, I'm still a noob topc parts so I wouldn't know.
  9. So, I'm finally about to build a PC, but I would like to have people look at it first. I've been trying to keep it around $1000, so I went with AMD and an rtx 2060. I was wondering if I should start with the Ryzen 5 2600, and possibly upgrade to a 3600 later, or just purchase the 3600. However, if I were to purchase the 3600 first I would also have to buy an x570 board, but if I were to upgrade from the 2600 I could update the BIOS. Just wondering what your guys thoughts on that are. Also looking for suggestions for better parts, etc. Here's my list; PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GYfvw6 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($133.00 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 42 CFM CPU Cooler ($36.99 @ B&H) Motherboard: Asus Prime X470-Pro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($147.00 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($78.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($74.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: Zotac GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB GAMING AMP Video Card ($359.99 @ Amazon) Case: NZXT H500 ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Best Buy) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($85.98 @ Newegg) Total: $986.93 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-08-26 01:00 EDT-0400
  10. I am looking for good pair of headphones with a detachable cord and good sound quality on the low budget of around 60 dollars. Upon searching I was able to find a fairly nice looking pair for $63, the CB-1's by Status https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BDX1IVW?tag=bp_links-20 . However, upon further inspection of articles they seemed to be a bit bulky, and have issues with some sounds (I don't know any audio jargon, so I cannot say specifically.) I am still tempted to buy them, however, but I am still curious if there is any other headphones that I should consider.
  11. Thank you guys for your help, I've pretty much set up a new build with a budget that has been increased to 1,000 instead of 900 dollars. However, I have some questions about RAM, should I buy the 3200 MHz since I have a motherboard that can actually support it? Or should I go with something slightly cheaper and slower like 2400 MHz? Again, thank you guys. Here's the build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xmLL29
  12. I am looking to build my first PC by the end of August and I have put together a list of viable options that fit into my budget. I have one that I have put together, but I'm not sure that it will do what I want (Gaming, mostly, along with everyday use) Mostly due to the fact that the CPU only has two cores, the Pentium G4560. However, I have heard that it handles heavy loads fairly well. I have also traded some of the fancier things such as a better case, SSD, and better case fans for a higher amount of RAM (16 GB), which will be useful if I decide to upgrade later. I have a link to the parts (I used pcpartspicker because it saves time) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rbXdmq. Anyway, I was wondering if this would be a bad investment and if I should expand my budget just a little to get a GTX 1060 instead of the 1050ti or a better CPU.
