That is completely pointless, as X79 takes better advantage of quad channel RAM.

totally not keh-jeff reacted to Osmium in Gigabyte G.1 Sniper vs Asus Maximus VI HERO ?
Neither. UD5-TH. Most of the features are either for hardcore overclockers or flat out gimmicky. It really is not worth the money even for a dream machine. The money in my opinion can be spent on something else that will benefit performance.

That's $20 for a t-shirt. (sorry I saw an opportunity and took it.)

Hd518, or 558 if you can stretch your budget by ~30$. There are other good, but Sennheiser headphones are of a really good quality and very comfortable.

totally not keh-jeff reacted to That Norwegian Guy in Ivy Bridge vs. Haswell
Comparing the i5-3570K and i5-4670K using Passmark's aggregated total results, these two chips at the exact same clock are 7.4003% apart in score. That means the IPC advantage of the Haswell amounts to 7.4003%.
Now, an Ivy Bridge CPU typically (from my experience) overclocks at least 10%~15% better. Thus, IMO, Ivy Bridge is strictly better for overclockers as they exhibit better end performance.
Sandy Bridge vs. Ivy Bridge however, the difference in IPC and overclocking headroom seem to be completely even. 6% and 5% respectively.
That makes Ivy Bridge the sweet spot for overclockers to me, as the final performance is on average quite a bit better than Haswell and marginally better than Sandy Bridge.
However, there are other things to consider, such as motherboard/ chipset selection, and if those things matter to you then it may not be all straight forward.

totally not keh-jeff reacted to ShearMe in New to headsets
In response to the "Best Answer" I think it is really stupid to buy an expensive headset from a company that makes plain headphones and not use the mic you paid extra for.
Sennheiser's 500 series is what their headsets are based on, so if a mic isn't required the 558 or 598 are what I'll recommend - pick based on the color, not the number or price. If willing to go used, the 600 series can often be found under $300 if your budget allows.

totally not keh-jeff reacted to KayNine in Ivy Bridge vs. Haswell
i7-4770K is about 10% better than i7-3770K. It's true, not a significant difference. It's why many people with Ivy Bridge do not upgrade to Haswell due to spending money on a new processor + a new motherboard.
