With an NVMe drive, it can borrow a few MB from your ram to use as cache. I've used some real cheap DRAM-less SSDs and they work just fine.

damn bros making some cash off roblox and pretty decent cash aswell, 100$ a day isnt something to sneeze at when thats 36k a year

now i feel like a complete failiure with these stupid boards =p  just gotta get better at forex trading and maybe ill stop being destitute and be able to buy some more computer hardware and a car

how many roblox accounts can your cpu handle atm?

for per core performance the 5900x will obliterate those xeons but if that doesnt matter and you need a crapton of multicore the xeons might win there having 3.5x the cores for 2 xeons

btw 2673 v4 are half the price of the 2698 v4 whilst having the same amount of cores, dual 2698 v4 is starting to encroach on amd epyc territory with used 7551/7571/7601 and those ~300$ dual sp3 boards or ~200$ single socket sp3 boards, also overclockable with agesa <1.0.0.4 iirc alongside upgrade path to zen2/3 epycs with 64 cores

since this is something that makes you money youll definitely wanna spend a decent bit so you can make more money, the investment in hardware lets you run more roblox accounts, and more roblox accounts = more money and that cycle keeps repeating till hardware becomes too expensive and roi takes way too long (basically anything above a dual 7551-7601 64 cores total considering those chips are like 100$ nowadays when 7742/7702 are still in the ~800$ iirc)

or this USB-C to 3.0 adaper since you have one of these

It's a good upgrade but you can try overclocking the ram first if you want. You have a pretty decent motherboard and your setup could handle it. Even just enabling XMP and manually increasing the ram frequency can work if you're lucky.

Fasauceome reacted to YoungBlade in Which CPU is better for these 3 actions combined?
For video editing, the 7700X and 7800X3D are going to be very similar, with the 7700X about 5-10% faster due to its higher clockspeeds. For gaming, the 7800X3D is going to be 10-15% faster on average across a range of games at 1080p with a top tier graphics card, so RTX 4080/4090 or RX 7900XTX.

Whether the 7800X3D is worth the price increase is the real question - if you don't have at least an RTX 4070 or RX 7800XT or better, the difference in gaming performance, even at 1080p, isn't going to be life changing. It probably wouldn't even be noticeable.

With that said, the improvements to responsiveness in your editing software and speed of renders also isn't really going to be a noticeable improvement with the 7700X. So really, the reason to pick the 7700X would come down entirely to price, so you should also be looking into the R7 7700 if it's meaningfully cheaper, as it can basically be turned into a 7700X by just turning on PBO in the BIOS to remove its power limit.

1135G5 will sit at 100% utilization the whole time with a 2060. I last tested this sort of setup with the 1065G7 and a 1080. Eventually there'd be enough heat soak from the CPU running at 100% the whole time to shutdown from the battery overheating.

Build a new desktop for the 2060. Even if its like a 12100f or R5 5600 it'll be better.

One way or another, you'll need to be supplying power to this theoretical external PCIe slot - from a external powerbrick or from a PSU cable.

Almost anything with a B650 chipset would work, with the exception of a couple low end Gigabyte boards like the B650M K and B650M D2H.

There are a number of good options out there, the B650M-HDV/M.2, B650M DS3H, and B650M Pro RS that would be good, though since prices shift greatly depending on the day and wherever you're shopping, the board that makes sense will vary.

Absolutely. The 8 pin provides more power than any Ryzen 7000 CPU needs 🙂  Even the 7950x would run on an 8pin.

No, you do not need the 4pin for the motherboard. The 8 pin is enough 🙂

The X3D CPUs benefit from a decent undervolt to lower power draw and thermals. If you tune the CPU a bit, you should not have any performance deficit.

Not really, the main factor for improving VRM temps would be direct airflow in this case, i.e. a downdraft cooler right next to them. The stock AMD coolers, specifically the larger ones like the Wraith Prism, do a decent job of this.

The tier list that you linked has the CX550 (assuming its not the 2021 revision) in the B tier while the toughpower GX2 is in C tier. I recommend not focusing on the gold rating cause there are plenty of shoddy gold rated units.
