  1. First thing I would suspect is the pump. Has it gone bad? is the speed too low? Is there a trapped air bubble?

  3. Funny coincidence, just realized I haven't updated my driver since last year this same time. Must be my little birthday treat to myself

If I was able to unlock all cores on my GPU, I would have the same GPU, maybe with less VRAM. (I have GTX 1080 Ti)

I also am not really updating my drivers, maybe once every 6 months if I care, but since no games are broken, buggy or whatever, I'm usually just not updating the GPU drivers at all.

  4. How much can you get a 5600 for? The motherboard swap may not be necessary since your board is compatible with the 5600 via BIOS version 7C51v16. Or you can even consider a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which might be a better choice due to the lower default operating voltage.
  5. $750 can get you a lot, but if you don't already have a nice monitor you can spend closer to $500, and spend the rest on an upgrade elsewhere in the system. You could easily afford an RTX 4070 super near that price point
  6. The 5600X is pretty capable even in modern games, so in terms of price to performance you have a ton of options. In reality it would still be reasonable to get something like a 4080 super and still be seeing performance gains over lower cards, but more practical options are available. What is your budget, and are you targeting something like 1440p 144fps?
  7. On the motherboard box, does it tell you what BIOS version is on the motherboard? The TUF B550 can use BIOS flashback which might help here
  8. The i7 has more Performance cores while the i5 has more Efficiency cores. As the others have said though, the integrated graphics could make a decent difference
  9. For more cores, you can get the cheapest i7 within your budget https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YDM48d/intel-core-i7-12700kf-36-ghz-8-core-processor-bx8071512700kf
  10. yes, the default fan behavior may not be an optimal curve for a water pump but it will function properly
  11. The board is not just old but fairly cheap. Which means not so good trace thickness. Also the memory controller is not so great on the 6700K, keep in mind this was Intel's first generation with DDR4 compatibility so there were compromises. 4 dimms at 1600, despite not being a terribly fast speed, might be out of range for this particular system.
  12. since the BIOS is running on the latest you can try flashing one version older. But save that option for later, first try running with only one stick of ram
  13. Aside from the BIOS reset attempt, what other troubleshooting have you tried?
  14. Unfortunately you can't wait for a BIOS to reflash. Flashing a BIOS is done manually, and usually requires access to the BIOS to do so. However, you can remove the coin battery from the motherboard and remove the power cable from the wall, and hope it resets to the defaults. With one long beep. You can read the manual to see what error it's trying to tell you about
  15. If you hold shift while the PC is trying to boot to windows, are you able to get to the recovery menu?
  16. usually the beep tells you what is wrong. What is the PC that you are trying to get working?
  17. And on an X570 motherboard, not likely to be any real impact due to higher bandwidth lanes available
  18. Phone carrier is something that not a lot of people want to have to think about, myself included. I pay my mint subscription once a year, get something like a month or so for free, and don't worry about it until the next year. I have had mint for multiple years now so it works out pretty well.
  19. I think "ATI radeon" might be a typo, I believe OP is talking about an RX 470 4gb. That's a lot of video RAM for 2008
  20. The fans will be at 0 when you install the drivers, it is a feature. It's called Zero RPM fan mode, and it is common
  21. Removing the coin battery from the motherboard might help, as well as disconnecting the 24 pin and 8 pin power from the motherboard
  22. Something like a peerless assassin has absolutely massive surface area, and push pull, and area for fresh air despite the fin density. I'm still not gonna recommend that @JACKO4590 get a new cooler. I think the LGA 1700 bracket is the best move here.
  23. That's not the point here but it's also not necessarily true. This might be the best addition to this particular PC for CPU temps, any of the high end i9 and i7 CPUs benefit a ton from the bracket.
  24. if the i7-2600 is that much cheaper than the i7-3770, it's a much better choice to go with the 2600. The RX 580 is a super good choice. But for performance for dollar, also consider the RX 470 and the RX 570. From Nvidia, consider a GTX 1060 3GB. a GTX 950 with a really large cooler if you find one for cheap, I had an EVGA model that performed well above the average 950.
