Are there any cultures that traditionally have a baby before marriage? Was thinking about the concept of the pregnancy being the commitment and then the baby shower is also the wedding, and if that's not a real cultural practice somewhere on earth, it could make a real interesting sci-fi/fantasy cultural aspect

Americans.
It would not fit into the sci-fi genre. More likely candidates would be sociology/psychology (depending on which side you're looking from; individual or group) or culture. There are some cultures that don't do marriages and only rely upon a chieftain impregnating the women upon hitting "age".

I was considering sci fi in terms of something like Star trek, where unusual cultures are explored as sort of analogies for human behavior
American culture is not a culture that has a norm of childbirth before marriage, it is seen as a bad thing by and large to have a child out of wedlock. I was thinking something explicitly the other way around, where the child was seen as the prerequisite to marriage.
