B550 having VGA indicator light (after RMA and troubleshooting)
ethanbrecke replied to ethanbrecke's topic in Troubleshooting
One of the SSD drives over SATA was not working. I figured it out by trying to have one drive plugged in at a time over SATA, instead of all the SSD's plugged in. -
B550 having VGA indicator light (after RMA and troubleshooting)

Yeah, worked for about 3-4 days while i transferred files over, worked perfectly with the GTX 970 as the GPU, and was displaying output, and showing up on the network, and when I turned it off to add the last 2 hard drives that held the old data, it stopped working, at which point I tried the Radeon 580 and 5670 -

I have tried a GPU from my brother's system (an Radeon RX 580, which was working in his system and I also tried an ATI radeon 5670 HD, which the eBay listing said was functional at the time of purchase). The Monitor and HDMI cable seem to be working, I tested it with my laptop, and there was output, and I was able to move my cursor around on the screen. Ive even RMA'd the Mobo, and even after the RMA, there is the same VGA debug light. Its Booting off one of the Kingston drives via Sata, There are no M.2 drives installed in the system. I have cleared the CMOS cache thing, (bridged the battery pins for 10 seconds, and after that didnt work, I took the CMOS battery out for 10 second). The power supply should be more than capable to supply the power, according to PCPartPicker. Any suggestions?

Has anyone tried setting this up with a desktop as the hub? Would a GPU help with video encoding, or if i had something like a ryzen 5 2600x, would that work alright as a hub?

And thanks, @Elektra57 for putting together the Hotel list. I was just about to start searching for a place to stay, so i really appreciate it.

Anyone look into flights yet? I was using google flights. Current price for Aug 6th - Aug 10th is about $300-350, but i was hoping for other websites to use, to check for the best price.

Booths about OS's other than Mac and Windows would be interesting. I wasnt there last year, but i would be very interested in OS/2 and Linux booths where they talk about how to set stuff up, and customize it, and the experience of it.

Hey guys, Austin Here. Just joking. Its Ethan. I live in the bay area, and was hoping someone who's driving up to LTX has an open seat in their car, or private plane (if anyone has a private plane, and is flying to LTX out of San Jose, please respond). I can help chip in for gas money.

Any chance i could possibly tag along on the ride to Canada? I live in the bay area, and can help pay for some of the gas. -
If any one ever goes to that site they should have all of their internets taken away. But what if you went there for the lols?

So i was inspired by their second installment of the $69 gaming computer (Linked Here), and decided to get a Dell Optiplex and throw a EVGA GTX 960 in there. I bought a 500w evga power supply as well, and know the card powers up. The computer runs, and i can get both into the BIOS and into windows, but i cant get any output. Is there anything i can do to get the graphics to output through the HDMI output? Edit: The graphics card is in the PCIe Slot 1, on the mother board for sure.
