  1. Yes it'll work fine, I use a very similar adapter for my own monitor.

    I really need a new mobo.... I've only got 1 SA…

@Windows7ge na, there's no port in my room and my parents have said no whenever I asked to run a cable through the crawlspace to my room.

@Windows7ge unfortunately no, my Wifi card and GPU take up the only PCI-E slots. I've got an exposed PCI slot tho but it's directly in front of my gpu.

      Is wired Ethernet an option?

  5. The color yellows over time though, if you want to get it brighter you might want to take a look at something like https://www.howtogeek.com/196687/ask-htg-why-do-old-computers-and-game-consoles-turn-yellow/
  6. i mean you can wear them with sandals
  7. I'd personally go with the 2060 Super and 2600, my intuition says you'll probably see more improvement in games with a better GPU than a better CPU.
  8. Interviewed a local computer repair shop owner yesterday for an econ project, he was a real cool dude.

  9. Update for anyone who reads this in the future, I was gonna stay with the R9 Fury just because the performance was pretty much the same and I like the look of the cooler more, but then found out I can't use it with VR because it only has a HDMI 1.4 connector, not 2.0. I could use a Displayport->HDMI adapter but I don't have one and don't feel like buying one.
  10. Eh I'd get a 2070 Super, just because he also uses stuff like blender so the better CUDA stuff will help there.
  11. I wouldn't worry about getting a new cooler unless you want one for looks or wanna hold onto it for later when you upgrade.
  12. Alright, another question: Do you think I could reuse the cooler from the Fury on my 580? It's a lot beefier and looks better imo, and the holes on the back seem to match up. Just the Fury cooler doesn't have cooling for the memory because HBM
  13. is it thermal paste or a thermal pad? is it directly on the cooler touching the CPU?
  14. I've got a bit of a first world problem here and could use some help deciding. I have a Sapphire R9 Fury and a Gigabyte RX580. Both work good but I don't know which one to keep in my PC. On the one hand, I only have a 1080p monitor so the 4GB of VRAM on the Fury shouldn't be much of a problem. However, I also play in VR, so I don't know if the 4GB could be holding me back there. I think the Fury looks really good with my build, and it's cooler than the 580 so I guess it really just comes down to if the VRAM is an issue or not.
  15. If you're just turning it on to see if it works, it'll be fine. It won't draw much power unless you actually put it under load.
  16. It's really stupid that a replacement HP Windows MR cable costs about as much as just buying the headset+controllers+cable on eBay... but now I guess I have a backup headset and 4 controllers.

  17. As everyone else has said, the 2600 doesn't have integrated graphics so you'll need a dedicated GPU. If you do have a dedicated GPU, idk what to tell you.
  18. Yeah I've got a i7 3770, 16GB of DDR3 laptop RAM in weird adapters, Asus B75 micro ATX mobo, a Sapphire R9 Fury 4GB (or my gigabyte 580 8GB, i might switch back to that if the 4GB VRAM becomes an issue), 1.5TB of SSD storage, an EVGA B3 550 watt PSU, all in a Thermaltake Core V21 case.
  19. Found one on ebay, https://www.ebay.com/c/811299948 Not sure where you are and how much shipping would be for you, or if it's more expensive than just a new monitor
  20. In Radeon Settings you should be able to find what the hotkey is to hide it (I don't remember off the top of my head what it is)
  21. Do you already have windows installed on your boot SSD? You might want to back up anything important on it and then reinstall windows on it... unless you can't boot into a windows install USB either.
  22. yes cat can sleep on pc cat can use pc too cat can stand on counter cat can stand on table cat eats all the food
  23. I just update my GPU drivers occasionally straight through Radeon settings and update other drivers really only if stuff stops working.
  24. eh probably at least 3000Mhz, CL16. specific brand doesn't matter really, just get one of the cheaper ones since you're on a tighter budget.
